This router doesn't work plug and play. We have an att prepaid plan and we had to go into setting and change the apn settings. Also it came outdated and wouldn't connect so you gotta figure out how to update the firmware. After the apn settings are updated it does work , but this is a lot of leg work. Unfortunately it lost the settings 5 days later and my wife was having a panic attack because she couldn't get online for her meeting. I would recommend finding a better router that you can simply push a sim card in and has lte internet

I am extremely happy with my purchase! Not only does this single router replace my Google Wifi mesh system, I am also getting much better speeds! Also I live in an apartment building where internet outages are common. Being able to have backup internet using 4G/LTE is a lifesaver. I work from home so having backup internet is a must!I definitely recommend this product.

Finally a LTE router that works the way it should. Super easy to set up using ATT sim card. I like that they included a sim card just in case you don't have one (needs activation). Benchmarked networked device file transfer at around 150MBps 5ghz. It easily handles the max speed of our LTE plan at 50Mbps. The app works great and makes it easy to manage the network remotely.Overall a great device.

The setup was great, but the automatic signup for the protection software and no way to turn it off is not liked by me. Is this functionality using large chunks of data? No way to tell, but my service provider tracks every MB. When nothing is connected large chunks of data is being used. My provider sets a monthly limit and this extra usage is putting my usage over the allowed amount. I have turned of the unit when not in use. Then no data is being used, but I want to leave it on!
As a consumer router with a cat6 LTE modem it is an adequate product. Both my wife and I telework for major corporations and performs to task.Because we live on a farm outside of cable and fiber internet coverage I've had to teach myself the ins and outs of LTE modems. This is the first integrated router/modem I've used. Previously used a cat3 AC341U modem connected to a Nighthawk AC1750 using a Cradlepoint CBA750B bridge router. The detail over information available to evaluate connection quality is disappointing. I would expect a product with older technology (cat6 modems are several years old) that purports to be capable of carrier aggregation to at least have the ability to show me what bands it sees and which it is using. More specifically I should be able to ... MoreAs a consumer router with a cat6 LTE modem it is an adequate product. I would expect a product with older technology (cat6 modems are several years old) that purports to be capable of carrier aggregation to at least have the ability to show me what bands it sees and which it is using. More specifically I should be able to see detected signal strength and signal quality for each band detected. Ideally there should be an advanced function to allow for band locking.I'll be the first to admit that I was spoiled with the detail level of the Cradlepoint bridge routers interface. But that detail level greatly aided me on several occasions to diagnose issues with my carrier provider were their issue vs being an issue with my equipment/network. Event logging being one of those things I no longer have.
We live in a area with no internet, none! So I Purchased this router because it said it worked with ATT Sim cards. It does not! Twice went to the ATT store and they activated 2 different sim cards for me and neither worked to give us a hotspot. Finally one ATT agent attempted to set up router manually and it came up requesting a TMobile login. The app for Nighthawk is terrible! You can’t do anything on the app until you have internet connection, well what about the people who have no internet and trying to set it up?!? Frustrating! No paperwork or manual in the box, had to go back to website and look up PDF for manual to find out that you needed LTE antennas. Oh, which you have to order 3rd party, because Netgear doesn’t sell them. Overall this was a terrible ... MoreWe live in a area with no internet, none! Oh, which you have to order 3rd party, because Netgear doesn’t sell them. Overall this was a terrible experience! Equipment didn’t work, wasn’t provided with everything needed to use with LTE only. The to top it all off and weeks of trying to get this thing to work and it didn’t, I called to return it and they tried to tell me that I only had 14 days! They did finally let me return it, but only because I told them how it says compatible with ATT and it clearly isn’t. Why don’t you make a simple router that works for hotspots for all us rural people who don’t have WiFi of fiber.
I recently replaced my Verizon Jetpac with the Nighthawk AX4 in our RV because our Jetpac’s battery needed to be replaced twice in a year. Very glad that this device worked with our Verizon sim card. Having the Nighthawk plugged into electrical power means that we don’t need to worry about any battery issues. I was able to easily connect all of my on board devices to the Nighthawk with relative ease. Very glad we made the switch!
This is the worst Netgear router I ever had. My son convinced me to purchase to replace another Netgear router that was working perfectly fine. He claims this one would give me a faster speed than what I was getting with the old router. I have not seen it yet. In fact it's slower. I cannot get into the app that I downloaded on my cell phone. Password won't work. I am at a loss as to what to do. Therefore I am just appalled because this one cost 3 times more than the router that I previously used.
I recently upgraded my internet service to fiber 500 up and down. Since making the switch and putting this router in place all devices will randomly buffer. This happens more then when I had Spectrum 300x10. All of my cabling is cat 5e or cat 6 and all of my devices are directly connected to the router via cable or wifi. I had a few switches in the network too but had to removed them because the router doesnt seem to know how to stop a broadcast storm. I fully expect that I will need to replace the router and with a different brand.
Finally! A “truly” unlocked device that works with the budget friendly EiotClub triple play service (works with att, T-Mobile, and Verizon networks). Includes a lot of nice features including LTE service selection and signal meter (dbi), data tracking, remote access, and more. All of the top cellular/LTE cameras on the market failed me because none of them are fully unlocked (for a budget service like EiotClub). This device lets me run multiple WiFi cams (much cheaper and better quality than the LTE cams on the market) vs just 1 sim per camera with trail/LTE cams. This device is saving me hundreds of dollars!
