We were streaming our Sunday church services using an old standalone WAP and were having loads of drop outs and other issues. After doing research on line and careful measurement of the facilities, a mesh network with a main and two satellites was the ideal, cost effective solution. The Orbi Pro AC3000 gave us the granular control we needed to observe and manage our internet traffic. With a direct connection to our Comcast Business-class service, the Orbi speed test indicated 500mbps between the main unit and a management node. BH put this in special, I decided to try it after it was highly recommended by a friend years ago. I had dead spots in my room as its in the corner of the apartment. I measured the download speed and it was just 6 mbps, after I installed the orbit system, it went to 419 mbps!!! Now I have tested and got that same speed in all the apartment. My brother in law got his too.

Setup was reasonably straightforward. Interface was ok and configuration was easy enough (I set it up in AP mode so I could bridge my two home networks). Reception is good on the satellite unit which is in an upstairs bedroom where i have my laptops and a photo printer - this setup needed the extra bandwidth to print reliably over wifi. This did the trick although the signal is not as strong as I had hoped - good, not excellent according to the router. The web page for the router kept on being sent to a Netgear web page over the internet rather than connecting to the router. I tried clearing the browser cache (as suggested) but that didn't work. Shutting down the browser and restarting it worked for some reason (as did starting a different browser and going to the ... But it is all working great and I have regained communication with the router device web page, so all is well. Many devices that are attached via wifi to the service provider wifi network (for which this is acting as an AP) show up as wired (e.g. phones, Apple TVs, TVs, etc.)? I haven't tried playing with many of the available options yet - letting it settle-in in working condition first. It repots much higher throughput on its Speedtest than does the one I run on my mac - same network. ???

This is all flat network with some additional SSIDs.Worth every penny!
If you have a multi level home over 3000sqft and over 20+ wifi devices, this mesh system is great. Having dealt with many different solulions, I figured the best way to solve my issues was with a router capable of handling 40+ devices. With almost all devices requiring a constant wifi connection, you need something that is capable of handling all that traffic. TV boxes, phones, tablets, smoke detectors, security cameras, and other smart devices, this router was able to handle everything I throw at it.Setup was simple, even a beginner with no network experience can get this up and running in less than 30mins. WIth a household of 6 people, and everyone complaining about the slow and inconsistant connection before, you can imagine the headache I had.I highly recommond the Orbi Pro, even though it is a little on the pricier side, but my research pointed me to this, and I would do it all over again. It is not too bad when on sale, so stop throwing money away buying mediocre mesh systems, get the Orbi Pro.
Tech support, 2 hours being transferred around, most of been around the world 3 times. Spoke to 8 agents was disconnected 4 times. I will never spend a dollar on Netgear. I assume all the tech support "professionals" are all high giving each other seeing who can pass off the most calls without working. This is the problem with farming out your USA products to other companies where you pay nothing in wages. The workers eventually will hold your company hostage. US companies that do this are thieves and are really just ripping off their customers. After the last disconnected call I took the router to the backyard and turned it into small pieces. I bought this from a big box office supply store who only honored a 30 day return. I will never by anything from that store ... I bought this from a big box office supply store who only honored a 30 day return. I will never by anything from that store unless I need Staples. I recommend buying this, if your have to from a place that has a long lasting return policy. Some stores like C- Co will force the manufacturer to take it back, which is completely fair if they are turning out bad products and have a horrible techs support.
The initial setup wasn't quite as easy as I'd expect, but I got through it and it works great. Provides great WiFi coverage across two floors with the same SSID. Plus, it allows me to connect a few nearby devices via Ethernet to both the router and the satellite unit, decreasing the amount of wireless activity in the household, while still allowing my mobile devices to connect over WiFi reliably with high performance. The speeds I get throughout the house are incredible.
With the decision to convert our very large basement into an at-home business, I needed to get reliable wireless Internet connectivity into that space. This router-satellite combo has done that nicely with no issues or installation problems. I really like how the router gives the option of creating not one, but several functional wireless LANs, as well as a guest LAN for our business customers. Highly recommended, and at a great sale price.
Installed the system at home last week and I haven't heard any complaints and it seems to work. The second wifi (employee wifi) doesn't allow access to any other host on the same network, whether directly connected to the router or satellite, or to the internet provider router when using it as a WAP. I am using it as a WAP, so the DHCP server in the internet provider's router is used to hand out IP addresses. The DHCP server in the Orbi Pro router is not used. I have some printers on the internal network so I need to use the "admin" wifi when I want to print. Not a biggie, just something to be aware off. More expensive, but if it keeps working and doesn't give me headaches, then it is worth the investment, for me. So far so good. Took one egg off for the confusing setup with respect to the satellite. Other than that, I am happy with the product. Got it only last week so I have used it for about a week, but it is working great so far. Hope it keeps working.
If you're an IT pro, then setup is probably a no-brainer. I'm not, and I'm still not sure I have it set up correctly. It seems you need to use both the web interface to the router and the app to set up different parts. But it appears from the web interface that the router and satellite are both connected to various devices and I'm definitely getting better coverage that with my previous AC1900 router. And it's great to have 3 independent networks available, one dedicated for IOT devices.
