I bought a Nextbase 222 model and it is definitely a step up from the 122, which I also bought recently. Hard wiring kit is not supplied and also an extra. The mount swivel ball is not very tight so if you remove the camera you have to set it up again to ensure it points at the road and not the sky. If you have a computer to plug this thing in to or something to put the SD card in, this dash cam is fantastic! All you have to do is take it off it’s magnet mount and take it inside and plug it into the computer. Make sure you get a good enough SD card with good read/write speeds though!!! They sell their own recommended cards you can find in other stores if you want to be safe! Came with its own little spudger tool to hide the wires behind the trim. Very compact design with a screen that can play back the video!

Great videos.. large and clear! Great value! Camera automatically starts recording when key is turned on (if you have a switched 12v port). I found sufficient video quality in lower setting at 720P with smaller file sizes. I got a 128gig card and found it will record long trips for many days without re-writes. It has a very wide angle camera which captures everything extremely well. Does well in all light (and dark) situations too. The mounts were quite a surprise... extremely well designed with multiple options. I use the window suction cup which works perfectly for me (looks like it uses a better quality rubber too). Over the years I have owned several dash cams. The NextBase 222 is the best one so far. Easy of setting up. Compact, tucks in behind my mirror. Great image quality. Always on standby should someone back into your vehicle while it is parked it will start recording automatically into a protected file. Unfortunately like all my other cameras it also has this strange explainable phenomena. It will not record a complete full stop of fewer than 2 seconds duration such as at a stop sign. The resulting playback implies a roll-through. This could have serious consequences should you need the footage for something like a court case.
To save you reading I'll get to the annoying part first. Parking mode. In theory it's great, capture any small bump the camera feels when you are away but it also captures when you enter and exit the vehicle and protects the recording so you end up with a full SD card of you getting in and out the car. As this is the non WiFi model you have to take the card out and delete the records on a computer to free up the space again.Other than that it's quite solid, good images day or night and an easy button on the front to save recordings.Just wish it would ask if you want to protect the recording so you have the option to say no otherwise it automatically saves after 30 seconds or so giving me the option to disregard those recordings of me getting into the car.
I decided to contact the company by email, they responded right away, and a few days later I received the suction mount by mail - without charge. This is excellent customer service and makes me happy. The NB222 dash camera is now in my car for a little while, it was easy to install and to adjust the settings to my needs. The images/videos are crisp and clear, hopefully I can enjoy this dash cam for many years. Thank you, Nextbase, for handling everything so uncomplicated!

The quality of the image is good to very good. Number plates can be read and the night time, image is certainly better than most. I bought this camera about 9 months ago. I liked the way that it mounted to the glass. It has very clear quality videos. I was in a rear end crash just 9 days ago. The insurance company wants to blame me for the crash but the dash cam footage proves that I was completely stopped and the light was red. It is going to save my bacon. I recommend that everyone get dash cam. This camera didn't move in the crash and no distortion of the video or anything like that, so it got the whole crash and didn't fall or change direction it faced out front where I had placed it.
love this dash cam. i needed one specifically because i do a lot of night driving. And after almost getting t-boned one night, while driving home and not getting a good video; I knew i needed a new camera. I checked the reviews for this one, and decided to try it out. It works wonders, it sees great at night and during the day. The sensor is good as well, i set it off while cleaning the snow off my windshield, but im glad cause i know if someone bumps my truck, or tries to mess with it, the sensor will go off and save a video for me. its also easy to find the videos and upload them if i ever need to. it was easy to set up and im very impressed.
