These were a great buy. I had wanted a pair of 16x50 binocs for a long time but theyre a little pricy for someone on a fixed income. This pair popped up as an open box and the price was about half off of retail so I jumped. Nikon makes great products and these are no exception . Very sharp and clear with good eye relief. Our yard is full of birds which was my main reason for buying them. Im very glad that I did.

Can you say Superman? Now I can, with these far reaching binoculars! What a treat to see things so close-up, with an excellent sharpness in the center field of view, as I have discovered, with all the Aculons I have tried so far. Sure, you get some shake from hand-holding these 16x bins, as any higher power binocular will behave in your hands, but they are still very usable without a tripod, no doubt at all for me-and I do shake a bit, of course. This very this favorable viewpoint is from older eyes and hands, so even younger eyes and hands could make better use of a higher power with more ease, for sure. The color and contrast are pretty good as well (depending on atmospheric conditions-like heat waves, and the like) but under the right conditions these are great ... MoreCan you say Superman? What a treat to see things so close-up, with an excellent sharpness in the center field of view, as I have discovered, with all the Aculons I have tried so far. This very this favorable viewpoint is from older eyes and hands, so even younger eyes and hands could make better use of a higher power with more ease, for sure. The color and contrast are pretty good as well (depending on atmospheric conditions-like heat waves, and the like) but under the right conditions these are great to behold. It does seem that very high power magnification shows some lesser overall saturation and contrast, so show more critically to your eyes in the quality of the view than the lower powered binoculars, such as those below 10x appear in comparison. I have not tried them with the included tripod mount (great idea, Nikon!), but I know it will only make me smile a broader one than I do now with these. These have met my expectations (I also have the 7x35 and 10x42 Aculons) and then some-no dissappointments here at all from this so affordable glimpse into higher power viewing. I don't know how they can do it, but I am very impressed to say the least, with all the Aculons I have tried so far. And all have been so excellent for the price, that I have kept every one so far-all three Aculons are now being enjoyed here by me now. So, I would say that, at B&H's excellent prices and service, the Nikon Aculon's have to be tried to be believed. Go for it if you're on the fence, and if you don't think they are amazing values in binoculars or don't work for you (always a possibility with individual needs and qualifications), just send them back and try another in B&H's large arsenal of offerings. There are also lots of favorable reviews for the Nikon Action EX's, which are their waterproof version of the Porro prism binoculars that Nikon offers, at a slightly higher price point for the capability of being water and fogproof, if you have that need. Most of us do at one time or another, but still the Aculons will serve as excellent tools for those whose needs are simpler and at a lower price, without sacrificing much in the way of performance if your budget limits your choices, especially. Sometimes these Aculons are offered at unbelievable prices-grab a pair and see how they work for you. It's not brain surgery-just see what works for you-the only way to really know is to try them for yourself. Only one downside that I can see being a possible problem, and that would be eye-relief for those who need to wear glasses when viewing-it is on the lower end of what would be best for eyeglass wearers. Though no doubt some would find it OK, so depending on your eyes, it still might be alright-try them yourself to know for sure. Clear views, and blue skies to you all, enjoy!
I was expecting a better binoculars from Nikon. I have Prostaf scope, D850, D7100, D90 and Z50 cameras and lots of lenses, all of them very good. This binoculars are not well protected as the cups flying easily from the optics. I have some Avalon which are better designed. The glass is not HD, and only the left eye can be adjusted. Lack of luminosity. Don't like them too much so far.
Not perfect, a little hard to get the adjustments right at maximum zoom. But brighter than I expected, and better at anything less than max zoom, particularly if you pick one zoom setting and stay with it. Zooming might mean you want to spent a little time adjusting the eyepiece setting to get both eyes to focus perfectly together. However, even in the worst case, this is a slight issue. I would buy again.
Good Points: Bought these partly for safari use, where having both low magnification and ability to zoom in onto particular animals are useful. This makes these highly flexible when compared with using two separate pairs of different magnifications. Nikon optics are good quality. Can easily be mounted onto tripod which is really needed for higher magnification viewing otherwise image is too unstable. They offered a good deal for binoculars and tripod. Lightweight tripod is stable and works well.Improvement Points: Zoom binoculars are a compromise - you would get a larger field of view using fixed magnification pairs and better image quality. They are mid weight but this is driven through the need for large objective lenses to cope with the higher magnifications.
Thank you so much for this great product binoculars. I brought these for my darling adult son who suffers badly with mental health issues. They are so crystal clear and so easy to use. I’ve sneaked them out once or twice on my backyard bird watching times. My son is so happy with them. He’s been wanting a pair of binoculars for a few years now and I put it off because I like good quality and didn’t think I could afford any. But when I found your deal I was so happy. I’m now after a decent microscope for my horticulture and Conservation trained daughter. So would once again seek your recommendations. Thanks also that it arrived right on time also. Bless you
I purchased these binoculars to take to the rifle range to monitor my sub 1/2 inch shot groups at 100 yards. They are bright and clear at the lowest setting (10x50) but I felt they were somewhat dimmer at the highest setting (22x50). They feel great in my hands and are very easy to use. The ONLY less than stellar comment I would make regards the zoom function. The zoom lever just felt VERY cheaply made to me. However, it does slide easy. Perhaps that is why I thought it felt cheap was because there was NO resistance while zooming up or down. I feel these are very nice binoculars for the money and would highly recommend them to others looking for a nice pair of binoculars at a great price point.
