So far it has been a great set of binoculars for sunny day trips to do just about anything! For me that means camping, hiking, the occasional sport event, and maybe to the park if I am feeling it. Camping and hiking are my most common activities personally, so it was important to measure just how effective are these binoculars?Immediately I caution against wet trips. The internals will not be able to handle any moisture, so ensure that the set remains dry at all times. They perform very well under bright conditions, as expected from Nikon optics. Not very convenient so i will opt for a better case.- Vulnerable to wet conditions and is not structurally durable. I will have to be very careful with it when hunting. Will have to invest in a better binocular for those tough weather days.- The observing end of the binoculars feel somewhat small personally. Would rather have opted for a x50

I have been using these binoculars for almost a year now. They are very easy to adjust and provide a stress free experience to view birds, animals or anything from a far. I am very pleased with my purchase and the quality. The weight doesn't seen to be an issue as I am 59 years old and can hold them steady to view the beautiful full moon as an example. You can see great detail of the moons surface with these binoculars. I didn't buy the tripod adaptor as I wanted to see how they worked holding them by hand. It hasn't been a problem to hold them steady. I have leaned against a fence post or deck pole to remain steady. The weight of the binoculars hasn't been a problem. These are great!!

I bought this binoculars before my uncle and i went on a train trip (Coast Starlight) back in November 2021 from Emeryville all the way to Seattle. I was lucky enough that it was on sale that time at $75 including tax. I had a wonderful time looking thru this as we wound our way California thru Oregon and to Washington. And not having to rely on the jumbotron only. The image quality on this is super good and clear. The eye relief is great. My eyes don't feel like cramped when looking thru them. I did not have any problems with collimation. The body feels very good and gripy, very solid feel.Over-all, I am super happy with this. Only downside is that it is now priced at above $100. At this point, I would suggest to get the newer ProStaff P3 since it is only $20 more and it would be much lighter. This bins are bigger and heavier/heftier.

These binoculars are nothing special, but they are decent birding binoculars at a very fair price. They are bright enough to use in the early morning or late in the day, when light is iffy.8x is about right for birding -- it's got enough magnification to help in identification, but not so much that it's hard to find the bird. It's also about as much magnification as I can use without getting seasick from my own unsteady hands. There is some chromatic aberration around the edges of the lenses, but the sweet spot of the lenses are free of CA. I was not distracted by the CA at all, but different people have different tolerances for such things.BTW, the negative review that notes the lack of diopter correction on the right eyepiece just doesn't understand the ... I was not distracted by the CA at all, but different people have different tolerances for such things.BTW, the negative review that notes the lack of diopter correction on the right eyepiece just doesn't understand the design of the binocular. The intent is to adjust the binocular by looking through the right eyepiece and focusing on an object. Then close the right eye and look through the left eye at the same object. Adjust the diopter control as needed to bring the left eye into focus. Finally, open both eyes and move the two barrels together or apart until the two eyes are seeing one aligned in-focus image. There is no point in having a diopter adjustment for both eyes when you use the adjustment as designed.
I bought these binoculars in February 2018 over the Internet without actually trying them out first. This proved to be a mistake. I based my decision on having for some time owned a pair of smaller Aculons (8 x 25s), which I really like. The problem with the 7 x 50s is their extendable eye cups. The design of the rubber cups is the most uncomfortable and unsatisfactory design that, in sixty years of owning and using binoculars I have ever experienced. I bought these binoculars for use in low light while standing in front of an instrument panel, so the fact that it is absolutely impossible to stop ambient light from entering my eyes from behind the ocular greatly reduces the performance of what otherwise is a highly resolute and brilliant optic. I bought these binoculars for use in low light while standing in front of an instrument panel, so the fact that it is absolutely impossible to stop ambient light from entering my eyes from behind the ocular greatly reduces the performance of what otherwise is a highly resolute and brilliant optic. If the distance between the monoculars is widened in an attempt to fit them better into my eye sockets the separate images do not coalesce well at all. In fact, there is no way to use these binoculars effectively for the purpose that I purchased them. I have even tried removing the bulbous rubber cups, reversing them and turning them inside out without result. I am now searching for add-on rubber blinkers to stretch over the eye cups. In addition to the ambient light problem, because the only effective way to use these binoculars is to hold them slightly in front of one's eyes, it is harder to keep them steady because they are without the third anchor point, namely the bridge of one's nose. In summary, for the money, the optics on these Nikon Aculon 7x 50 binoculars are superb, both in terms of resolution and brilliance. However, I would not recommend these binoculars to anyone who seriously wants an effective working pair of binoculars for use in low light conditions, particularly if their intended use is from an observation station that has even the lowest level of ambient lighting. It was slightly less robust than the Bushnell Legacy WP 10x50, and, I assume, the discontinued Bushnell 8x42, and the warranty is somewhat less helpful. However, this Nikon Aculon 8x42 binocular's quality for the price can not be beat by any other available model. My wife finds it easy to use. The case is junk, wo a strap, and too small to add closed-cell blue foam/ensolite padding to the inside. Find a strapped shoulder bag with a real zipper (not spiral type) AND a flap/strap with a clip to backup the zipper for safety. Use a Ziplock bag inside to keep the binoc dust free. The binoc strap plastic adjuster is NOT secure, despite my very careful following the installation steps. Experiment (carefully) to find the best length for you, and sew the strap to that fixed ... The objective caps are useless because they can not be fixed to a cord/the binoc, and will soon be lost.
The difference between night and day, with my new Nikon 8x42 Aculon Binoculars! Coming from an old Nikon Travel Lite II 7x20, the Aculon is a substantial improvement in brightness, detailed sharpness, and ergonomics. Although it is manufactured in China, the rubberized construction holds comfortably in your hands, with indents for your thumbs and fingers for steady observation. It is sufficiently weighted for most people...manufactured with solid construction, and close tolerances. As others have said, the diopter adjustment is definitely tight to turn. The eyepiece caps and lens caps can be attached to the neck strap - a minor annoyance, but they were firmly attached and did not fall off. The nylon cloth case is just okay, but I would just leave it in the car or backpack. I will definitely bring this to my next sporting event. After placing my order for the 7x35 Aculon, I changed my online order from the 7x35 to the 8x42, after doing last minute analysis. A simple, timely phone call to the B&H service rep resolved my last minute change - Im glad that I did, to get the excellent 8x magnification instead. Terrific B&H service!
I purchased these binoculars to take to the rifle range to monitor my sub 1/2 inch shot groups at 100 yards. They are bright and clear at the lowest setting (10x50) but I felt they were somewhat dimmer at the highest setting (22x50). They feel great in my hands and are very easy to use. The ONLY less than stellar comment I would make regards the zoom function. The zoom lever just felt VERY cheaply made to me. However, it does slide easy. Perhaps that is why I thought it felt cheap was because there was NO resistance while zooming up or down. I feel these are very nice binoculars for the money and would highly recommend them to others looking for a nice pair of binoculars at a great price point.
Most avid deer hunters know there are certain hunting essentials you don't skimp on when it comes to price. "Optics", in most hunter's minds, definitely fall into that category. The old mantra, "you get what you pay for" is generally the rule and not the exception regarding hunting gear. Not so in this case. These Nikon Aculon binos absolutely deliver way more than you expect them to deliver at such an affordable price. Most hunter's would argue that if your scopes, range finders, and binos don't cost you north of $300.00, then they're quality and performance will be inferior at best. While this may be true to some degree regarding those items, every now and then an optics manufacturer surprises us all with a fantastic high quality item at a ridiculously low price. ... Enter the Nikon Aculon line of binoculars. These guys offer incredible image quality, durability, and superb ergonomics AND at a price nearly every hunter's budget is happy to oblige. I've owned a pair for many years, now, and they remain, to this day, one of the absolute best purchases I've made in 26 years of deer hunting. Just to give you an example of the Nikon Aculon's pedigree, some hunting buddies and I conducted our own little optics "shootout". The 3 contenders included a pair of Steiner binos that cost well north of $200.00, a pair of Leupold binos that cost north of $400.00, and my Nikon Aculon binos that came in at a meager cost of just under $100.00. While the Steiner and Leupold binos certainly offer incredible quality and performance, all of us agreed that, in terms of image quality, ergonomics, and construction, my Nikon Aculon binos more than held their own against 2 high quality manufacturers in Steiner and Leupold. In fact, with the exception of a tinge of peripheral blur in the Aculon, it was almost impossible to truly distinguish a clear winner in image quality and clarity among the 3. So, the final verdict? You can absolutely get amazing high quality optics the higher up the price ladder you climb, but you will certainly not be compromising high quality at an insanely affordable price by choosing from Nikon's incredible line of Aculon binoculars. Well done, Nikon.
We love Nikon and these binoculars are no different, they offer a very clear view and allows alot of light to come into the binoculars. We own a few Nikon Scopes also and we have been very impressed with them all. The prices are great also, there are alot of very high priced options out there and honestly these Nikon ones have just as good if not better viewing in our opinion, but with a much better price. Nikon also stands behind their products which is great since you are using them in the great outdoors! I would definatly recommend these to anyone, whether you are a bird/nature watcher or an avid hunter like we are!
