I've used this on nubuck, PU leather and sneakers, and it worked great on all. Was easier to apply than I expected. It repels water very well, but it's too early to tell how long it will last. Other Nikwax products that I've purchased have lasted quite well. I don't see any reason why this would be any different.

I prefer this spray version over the dauber version as I find it’s easier to put a few light coats quickly rather than smear on a thick coat. I use tis spay on my boots that have cordura fabric (a very coarse synthetic fabric) and leather with a Gore-Tex lining and it keeps the water beading off and the boot breathable. I just wished it lasted a bit longer and that they sold it in larger formats. Overall great stuff and it keeps me from over oiling my boots which would make them too soft to support my ankles. Love it for regular hiking but mostly for winter as it keeps the salty puddle water out of the leather of my 500$ Danners.

Bought this waterproofing spray to waterproof (2) old pairs of hiking boots that I was repairing and (1) pair of breathable fabric tennis shoes. Worked like a charm!With my tennis shoes they kept the water out but the fabric still breathable. Before I used the spray, my shoes would get soaked just from walking in dewy/wet grass. Works as advertised. I normally apply once or twice a season to my gore-tex boots to keep the leather in good shape and waterproof. Make sure to clean well before (remove salt). I prefer the spray to the sponge, Just for ease of use - but sponge may be more efficient for nubuck/leather.
Super easy to apply. I let it dry overnight. The next morning's walk through wet grass left my socks and feet dry. The label warned that the color of the fabric will darken after applying it, which mine did slightly but I wouldn't have noticed it if I wasn't looking for it. Great product!
Bought this and the Nikwax cleaners for full grain leather and suede to clean our boots after a week in the cascades. I also took some older boots that were in pretty rough shape to see if they could be cleaned up and re-waterproofed.I was amazed at the results. The newer boots were cleaned up, all the volcanic ash was cleaned away and the boots looked great again. The waterproofing was as good as new or slightly better. The astonishing thing was how well the old boots looked after cleaning and waterproofing. Water was beading up on the oldest pair like they were new and were cleaner than they had been in years.I followed the instructions to the letter and both cleaned and waterproofed to get the results I did.
Hello,Thank-you for offering this product.The concept of a water-repellent for a boot is terrific and certainly needed for maintenance.It will take time to determine how effective this works as a water repellant.However, with the one exposure of rainfall, it proved to work, and repelled the water.As the Canadian seasons change, and with more rain and snow to come, a true test will take time to see.In trying to apply the liquid, I would recommend purchasing a spray over a sponge,In order to release the liquid, you have to really squeeze the bottle so that it is released.
Applied this to my Timberland Mt. Maddsens to improve their water resistance after 3 years of use. Tried the boots in extremely wet temperate rainforests in southern Chile and the spray noticeably improved how water beads and sheds off the boots. I clearly missed a small spot near the front of my right boot that wasn't beading water remotely as well as the rest of each surface.
Water is bigger than air. For newcomers to the Nikwax system, the starting point is to understand that H2O is blocked by the molecular barrier Nikwax installs, while air passes comfortably thru; BOTH WAYS. This means, you can clean, condition and wax all in the same wetting, with no dry time and your footwear and other gear will dry thru the wax layer. It also means that surprisingly durable and long-lasting Nikwax continues keeping moisture out while allowing your sweat to evaporate, AND to dry well overnight.
