I have never played a Ninja Gaiden game before. Unfortunately, I wasn't in to the whole franchise when the first 2 games were released, but after giving Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge a go, I am certain I will, at some point, play through the older games. The storyline took some time for me to get used to, as I have not played through the previous games, but overall, it was very well written and had some good plot twists to keep you interested and on your feet. As an overall game, I loved it. It provides an immediate challenge from the very start, so you're right in the action from the moment you press start. Sit back, relax and enjoy.

The action is very fast-paced and the gameplay is very challenging. Maybe too challenging for some. The graphics are ok, but as one of the earlier Wii U games and a remake to boot, they are not great. If you're a fan of twitch action games you'll like this game.

While most third party games on Wii U have been lackluster ports, this is the definitive version! The game runs smooth and the lighting and textures have been improved. You can perform combos via the game pad (optional). It's seems time and care was done to produce this excellent port. If your in to challenge and learning super combos, pick this up. Currently it is the best action game available for the Wii U!

However, Nintendo has really laid something new on the table with the most recent game towards the franchise; Razor's Edge. Picked up since it was on clearance and have not played the third entry. From what I've read many things are unlocked for you right off the bat compared to the version initially released on the other consoles. Many have complained that this is good and bad. unfortunately, the sense of reward that these unlocks gave from finish the game are now gone. Never the less this is still a great (and challenging) hack and slash game
The original release of Ninja Gaiden 3 on 360/PS3 was over-simplified in an attempt to appeal to a wider audience. Razor's Edge is a much better version of the same game that caters to the series' longtime fans by adding in the ridiculous level of difficulty Ninja Gaiden is known for along with beefing up the leveling system. The game looks as good as can be expected on Wii U: looks good but occasionally gets choppy when there's a lot going on on-screen. The gamepad makes using ninpos easy, but the Pro Controller is much more efficient, especially when the difficulty starts to ramp up. The story makes absolutely no sense but that's part of its charm.
I like ninja gaiden razor edge and the game is awesome. Its a great game to play. I do enjoy the games story line.

Ninja Gaiden Razor's Edge is a hardcore game brought to Wii U by joint publishers Tecmo Koei and Nintendo. The gameplay is highly skill-based, requiring extensive combos and movesets to combat your opponents and conquer bosses. The game is not toned down in any way, and offers the same parity found on other platforms. Additionally, players can utilize the gamepad for off-screen play, as well as use the Wii U Pro Controller as an alternative control setup. Voice chat is supported through the gamepad's built in microphone, and an update has been released providing some additional content, characters, and outfits. My score: 80/100
Before I bought this game, I recalled reading many reviews speaking to the fact that the newer Ninja Gaiden games were tough. That's an understatement! Recommended to have a pro controller to play this. If you want to challenge yourself while dying quite a bit, this is a game for you. Who says the Wii U doesn't have hard games? This sure is one.
