Honestly, I own a lot of Ninja products and for the most part have not had too many problems with their products other than issues that Ninja knows about in a flawed design.Been using this machine maybe a year or close to two but you'd really expect it to last. Have no problem with the Blender or the small blender cups and use those almost daily. But the food processor, I used maybe 20-30 times...its for the times i didn't want to drag out my larger food processor...so this was a convenient option. I started using this about a year ago for making dough. Had no problems until one day it wouldn't turn. The motor worked fine but the blade wouldn't turn. Thought it was strange but dumped out my ingredients and used my stand mixer. Tried again this weekend and of course same issue - motor works, blades don't turn. Called customer service and of course am over the warranty but for $68 I can get a new bowl. Ummm, no thanks. After hanging up with customer service I took the bottom black part off to find tons of filth under neath and the same plastic pieces that everyone complains about seemed to have worn down, which is why they aren't catching the other gears to turn the blade. At least the blender still works...but I may have just jinxed that too! I find that with a lot of my ninja products there are issues that Ninja knows about but doesn't correct or make right by it's customers. For the price of their products, you would think they would. Disappointed!

Update after 300+ smoothies in the cup blender
26 October 2024

This is an update after I made 300+ smoothies with the cup version of the blender. While the smaller blade assembly needed to be disassembled and cleaned (see below), it is in good repair after this heavy use.Be sure to note my earlier review that this does not replace a real food processor nor handle hot soups. Additionally I realized the vegetable chop that is included is far more chaotic and irregular than the style where vegetables can be cleanly chopped as they are slowly fed into the unit. One month after the warranty expired I experienced a very hot and seemingly jammed blade assembly for the smoothie cup. Thankfully, with a YouTube video (and update in the comments) and some common household tools I was able to disassemble the blade, rule out replaceable ball bearings as the problem, clean the unit well, lubricate with some mineral oil, and reassemble.I’m very pleased the unit is repairable in this way and that it’s done so well with near daily use for smoothies.I would recommend it on sale for smoothies but not as a food processor. And because of the similar-but-different mode numbers out there I’m not sure I would even suggest buying a different model without the additional pieces I barely use, lest it not perform as well as the smoothie maker.

The auto IQ programming makes this an easy job and you can just hit the pre-programmed button and the machine will do all the work for you. You can also manually push the buttons of your choosing if you need more control over what you're doing. The single serve cups are great for on the go drinks or smoothies and the set even comes with two spout lids that easily attach to the single serve cups as well so when you're finished blending you can pop the lids on and leave the house in no time. No need to transfer to a new container. The food processor bowl has the chop function with the sharper blade or the dough assembly with the blunt blade. This machine is literally so versatile that it can take the place of multiple machines that you may already have in your kitchen, only now you can save space by having only one. I really like this Ninja Professional Plus Kitchen System Blender and 8-Cup Food Processor with Auto iQ and its capabilities. So far I've made frozen cocktails and smoothies. The drinks some out with a nice smooth consistency which means a lot since the texture of foods can be a big deal. The blade running up the entire pitcher attachment was genius. I'm even more impressed with the smoothies function. I've wanted to buy one of those $600-700 blenders to get the perfect smoothies but lucked up on the same results with this system! Again the consistency rivals that at the smoothie shops. Even blueberries, blackberry, and pomegranates and such are blended with easy - not at all a gritty bc of the seed or skin of the berries. Over all it more than worth it. I can weight to try it extracting feature and even test a batch of peanuts butter cookie dough out on it! It's a powerful unit and I can tell I'm going to rely on this heavily!

[Rewarded Review] Your Countertop Sous Chef
29 November 2024

Thank you to Influenster and Ninja for allowing me to review the Professional Plus Kitchen System for my honest review. This is truly an all-inclusive kitchen system for a small to large family. I’m very impressed I can blend, chop, process and mix all from one footprint. This set is huge and offers so many options. First, I made a batch of smoothies in the large pitcher. I like that the lid locks onto the container when it’s on the base, so you know it’s safe to turn on. The heavy base suctions to your countertop, so it held strong, no bouncing. Using the Smart IQ automatic blend feature for smoothies, it broke down all the frozen fruits and ice to a consistent state. I was impressed I had no big chunks of fruit or hunks of ice lurking below the surface. It’s not the most quiet appliance, but it’s not suppose to be. I made another single smoothie later in the single serve, that also came out uniform and smooth. Onto the chopping feature using the food processor bowl. I make homemade salsa quite often at home, so I’m picky with how I cut my vegetables. Wow, it did not disappoint. The IQ feature doesn’t just go non-stop, it chops (or blends, etc) then stops. Then it starts again, and stops according to what feature is set. The “chop” really did chop my vegetables! They weren’t pulverized or chunky half-cut tomatoes, they were uniform in size and chopped to perfection. I then meal prepped mirepoix with stringy celery to use for recipes this week, another excellent chop. For dinner I used the processor bowl to make black bean burgers, they turned out great. One bowl, minimal mess. Very impressed and I would highly recommend this for the home chef, someone who likes to meal prep or make smoothies and shakes… really an amazing addition to the kitchen. It’s the sous chef you’ve always needed! Clean up is a breeze too. All the blades easy slide out (be careful!) and have a nice tip to grab for washing with a brush and soap. I appreciate that I can use the dishwasher to clean the accessories as well. Really impressive and a great value for all the included pieces. It’s not for a small kitchen, along with all the bowls, lids and blades, the base is quite tall and requires a good size footprint. Overall, absolutely wonderful kitchen appliance at a great value.
