This was easy enough to put together. I feel like the removal of the top deck to access the storage space below could be a bit easier, but once you get the hang of it, it's okay. I like the sound effects that play when you push the button on the side of the ship, especially the Bowser's castle song that plays every now and then. First, this is an AMAZING toy! The kids absolutely love it. Good size, their Mario figurines fit well on it. Have played hours on end with it. The down side is the dang propellers and fold down part on the back of the ship fall off so easily they don’t even use them most days because they just fall off as soon as you touch the ship. It’s extremely frustrating that they don’t click into place well. Could have been fixed by the ship actually fitting together/be one piece, instead of being multiple pieces. The battery is accessed inside the ship so everything must be removable which has makes some of the extras fall off easily. Would have been a much better design to just have battery door on the underside of the ship and fit the whole thing together.

After Luigi's manision I should have know. This is very well made, but.... Started the assembly with the batteries. (poorly placed compartment, you have to take it apart to change them) Checked the sounds, they cycled through, and then, got stuck on the music and would not turn off. Removed the batteries, the sounds cycled through, but the music was missing. Bowser's growls started on their own intermittently. Ok, so no batteries. Started assembly, design seemed ok and went together decently, instructions were adequate. Next the stickers. The yellow and teal for the lights would not seperate from their backing, and grandma here is a pro at this, tweezers and all. half the sticker card was defective. No sound (might be a blessing for some) missing cabin and light stickers, and a headless Peach, which my Grandson didn't seem to care about. We have the Castle, best ever design, and the Haunted Mansion. needed a rubber mallet to get it to go together, but its been great. This is pretty good but has issues. Really wish the sound worked correctly. Would recommend but hang on to your reciept (this was a gift and the giver lost the reciept) you might need exchange it.
Item extremely small in the box ! However once clicked into place actually is a good size !Absolutely made up with it the noises it makes they are brilliant to , that was a nice surprise actually. So it comes in pieces you place batteries in & click it as one , ( it can come apart again to change batteries. Ours went into place nicely very firmly pushed ‘ the only thing that didn’t or still currently doesn’t is the back part it’s quite small and the 2 half’s are clearly meant to hold it in place , this doesn’t happen. My son is 9 we used blue tack and you can’t see it and it works other than that it seems all fine at the moment . But overall it looks good sounds good and we love it in our collection seen a lot of issues ours seems overall great just that 1 part ... MoreItem extremely small in the box ! This toy could have been so cool but the quality is awful. It comes in pieces and requires some basic assembly. This would be fine, except the pieces don't match up exactly. This is not user error on my part. The plastic pegs that are supposed to hold this ship tigether are too short, so the ship keeps popping apart to the point it's unuseable by my four-year-old. I'm considering clamping it together with superglue to keep it together, but this will make future battery replacement impossible. This ship is not worth the purchase and frustration, even on sale.
My 4 boys have a lot of fun with the Super Mario DLX Bowser's Ship Playset. They enjoyed assembling the playset, it was easy enough for them to follow the instructions and do on their own with minimal help from me. The Mario figurine is included with this playset and you are able to purchase additional figurines separately. Which we did so that all the kids could enjoy playing together. You are able to lift the top off of the ship and store your figurines in there to put up. This is great because everything stays together. The ship makes sounds just like the Mario game and the propellers spin. All you need is a couple of batteries. This playset would make an awesome gift for any kid. Who doesn't love Mario?!
My son loves this. I would give it five stars but it came out of the box with the button that makes the sounds already sticking. It ends up playing the bowser airship song continuously instead of stopping after one round. My kids think that is awesome, which is why I haven’t returned it for a replacement but it is definitely going to run down the batteries and probably be broken sooner rather than later. My kids are still young (ages 4, and 6) and so are very hard on their toys, so for me, again, I’m keeping it. Hopefully it is just my specific one because otherwise this toy is actually pretty cool. The neighborhood kids loved it too (ages 8, 4)

The design was not tested because as people have complained, it falls apart when playing with it, you have to hold it from the bottom, or the top will fall off. Bottom pieces are a pain to snap together, and if the batteries die, you have try to unsnap them bottom piece without breaking them. Of course it comes with Mario instead of bowser which is like giving me Albert or Two Face with a Batmobile play set. Is Mario the car salesman for this boat?
