Description Nizoral is a medicinal product with antifungal activity for use, among others in dandruff of the scalp, variegated dandruff, seborrheic dermatitis. Composition The active substance is ketoconazole (Ketoconazolum). 1 g shampoo contains 20 mg ketoconazole. Excipients: sodium lauryl sulfone ether, disodium salt of monolauryl sulfosuccinyl ether, coconut oil fatty acid diethanolamide, laurdimonium - hydrolyzed animal collagen, macrogol 120 methyl glucosodioleate, fragrance composition, sodium chloride, imidurea, sodium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide Dosage Always use this medicine exactly as described in the package leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. A drug for use on the skin. Treatment: Dandruff: once a day for 5 consecutive days, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff of the scalp: twice a week for 2-4 weeks. Prevention: Dandruff: once a day for three consecutive days for one treatment cycle, before the summer period, seborrheic dermatitis and dandruff of the scalp: once a week / 2 weeks. Usage: Apply a small amount of shampoo to infected skin - usually 1 sachet or a handful of medicine is enough for a single use (hair can be previously washed with a normal shampoo). Using a small amount of water, spread the shampoo evenly over the skin. For long hair, all you need to do is wash your scalp. Rub the shampoo into the skin until it foam. Leave the foam on the skin for 3 to 5 minutes and then rinse. You can use ordinary shampoo every day. Action Nizoral has antifungal activity on yeasts of the genus Malassezia (Pityrosporum). indications Treatment and prevention: dandruff of the scalp (peeling of the epidermis of the scalp in the form of white, easily separating scales). seborrheic dermatitis (brownish-red patches on the chest and face that peel off as white or yellow scales). Dandruff dandruff caused by Pityriasis versicolor (small, white spots on the skin of the chest). Contraindications Do not use Nizoral: if you are allergic to ketoconazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine. Side effects Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them. Uncommon side effects (affects 1 to 10 users in 1,000): erythema, irritation, pruritus, reaction and pustules, eye irritation, increased tear secretion, folliculitis, acne, hair loss, contact dermatitis, dry skin, abnormal hair structure, rash, burning sensation, skin peeling. Very rare side effects (less than 1 in 10,000 people): hives, change of hair color, angioedema. Warnings and precautions Avoid eye contact while using the medicine. Dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis can be accompanied by increased hair loss, which can also occur with Nizoral. Keep out of the sight and reach of children. Store below 25oC. Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine. Use of the drug in children and adolescents Do not use on children under 12 years old.
