A gutless wonder

What the ? What a piece of garbage! This is the fourth Nutribullet I have bought over the years. The others all lasted at least two years, actually the first one I’ve ever bought lasted double that. The first time I used my new one, the rubber gasket/ ring was hanging off. This was after blending a banana water and protein powder. It’s not like there was even any stress to the blade or ring area. After seeing other reviews and people with the same problem, I have decided I am and never buying another Nutri bullet. I know nothing is built as well as it used to be, but this is ridiculous. Please take your money elsewhere.!!

It is rather good!
27 June 2022

This is the second time that I have owned a Nutribullet, and I'm very glad that I had another go with it. It is a very useful aid to good nutrition, providing powerful and tasty mixtures of the best foods quickly and without fuss. However, take note...If you're like me you will have a few false starts which could put you off. The starter kit provides 700ml of blended liquid. The MAX sign is important. The temptation is to overfill and then just run water to the level. If you do this you might well end up cleaning up quite a lot of mess! And the resulting blend will have the consistency of porridge. I found out that putting in vegetables and fruit to about half the amount of the volume indicated by MAX and then topping up with water/milk/coconut water etc works ... MoreThis is the second time that I have owned a Nutribullet, and I'm very glad that I had another go with it. Loose gasket, engineered to fail after six months
2 July 2022

TL;DR loose gasket problem requires you to purchase new blade assembly every six months, per Nutribullet’s own instructions. If I had written this review a few days ago, I would have given five stars. But our gasket has come loose and it’s a real hassle/expense to solve. Just do an internet search for something like “nutribullet gasket falls out” to see what a big problem this is. Once it falls out, it won’t stay in. Ours comes loose every time now, often causing a mess. Our unit is only 7 months old, and it turns out that is actually over the engineered lifespan of the blade assembly.Nutribullet’s website recommends purchasing a new blade assembly every six months, or whenever the gasket comes loose. Thats right, if your gasket comes loose, they want you to purchase and replace the whole blade assembly.I’ve seen people on Reddit say they’ve received replacement blades under warranty, but still have to pay shipping. And many claim the gasket didn’t last long in the replacement. If I had known these problems, and that Nutribullet recommends buying a new blade every six months, I absolutely would not have bought this.

I have purchased 4 of these “little big” machines since 2013. First in 2013 was a “two-fer” - two complete sets of the 600 watt bases (one of which I still have) that came with the milling blade. These things are made well (except for the blade housing, which I’ll get to later), and withstand daily use with little to no issues. After the 900 watt machines came out, I wanted one, but my 600 watt was still going strong. Finally, the base unit got noticeably loud so it was time to put it to rest. I made a slight mistake by purchasing a refurbished 900 watt Pro, which needed a new blade housing within 2 months.I then purchased another 900 watt unit and alternate using each base.I use mine in an unconventional way (well, other than my smoothie) - my dog gets a diet ... MoreI have purchased 4 of these “little big” machines since 2013. I made a slight mistake by purchasing a refurbished 900 watt Pro, which needed a new blade housing within 2 months.I then purchased another 900 watt unit and alternate using each base.I use mine in an unconventional way (well, other than my smoothie) - my dog gets a diet of cooked chicken & rice mixed with a smoothie of fresh, raw fruits & vegetables (carrot, banana, sweet potato, cucumber, apple, lentils, beans, etc). This unit pulverizes raw sweet potato & carrot with no problem. The dog actually eats better than I do!!Now, about those blade housings. The bearings are not sealed and cold ingredients can create condensation. Hence, the bearings/race rust. That is why you eventually see black “goo” on the side opposite the blade. I know this because I actually took the bearing/race out of one and it literally broke into pieces. That being said, I have a box of blade housings that need only bearing replacement and would be good as new. I did do a bearing replacement once (thanks to having that milling blade I mentioned earlier) and it worked great, but I think the company discovered people were replacing them and changed the design. I purchased bearings online, but they don’t fit.I noticed other users have said the gasket falls out. I have never had this issue in 10 years, so cannot comment. Also, the 3 small “fins” on the cups start to break after a while (I rarely wash in dishwasher because I think high heat may accelerate the process). Glad I have a collection of unused new cups!! I suggest keeping those cups you never use…..they will come in handy in a pinch. All in all, I love my little big powerhouse and panic when it finally starts to show signs of needing replacement. Glad I found this product years ago as it has become a part of daily life. I would have given 5 stars if the quality of the bearings was better.

True story: I first logged in to review this product with a 3-star rating and said that I wouldn't recommend this product to a friend. Remarkably, when hit submit it wouldn't go through. I received an error message. LOL. Was that an honest error? Color me skeptical. My review is this- my nutribullet started coming apart within the first 30 days after buying it. Now I have to put it back together after almost every use. A rubber part in the base that requires great ambidexterity and patience to work back into place. Tonight I have had it! This is unacceptable. I have been putting this thing back together for months and I will not do it anymore. I don't typically write reviews unless I've received unexpectedly excellent service. I'm frustrated and at the end of my rope. This product will be going into the trash can if this company doesn't remedy the situation immediately.

Well worth the extra money

Earlier this year I was diagnosed with diabetes and recently decided to knuckle down and lose some weight and get control of my numbers. Part of my strategy has been to add SlimFast Keto shakes to my diet. I'm not doing keto, but this particular product seems to have fairly good quality ingredients and a sweetener and they are actually delicious. This product has MCT oil so using a shaker bottle just didn't do the trick, hence the Nutribullet. The reasons why I chose the Nutribullet are that it is a reputable company, people seem to like them and, most of all, you can get replacement parts and not just the bottles at reasonable prices. This was a HUGE plus for me. It also has a pretty powerful motor. Why not use a regular blender? I have a really good old Oster blender (metal gears) but getting out all of what you put in it can be challenging to say the least. Doing that everyday or possibly twice a day could well have been a big roadblock for me. It is also so old that I can't get a shake blender attachment for it.The Nutribullet has made a huge difference in my shakes. I don't have tiny clumps of MCT oil or shake mix floating around. They are now perfectly smooth and I am confident, given the powerful motor that if I choose to add ice cubes, frozen fruit etc. in the future it will handle it well. Cleanup is ridiculously easy. No shaker ball or mesh to to fiddle with when cleaning the bottle. The bottle and lid feel solid and not cheaply made.I would recommend this to anyone who is in the market for a shake blender. There are cheaper ones on the market but this product has a lot to offer in power, ease of use, available replacement parts etc.

getting used to......
17 April 2023

my blendtec died last week. I decided to purchase the Nutribullet, I was impressed w/ the reviews and price, i also have the smaller version at my office.1. blendtec has a rubber lid, easy off easy on. Nutribullet's double clip is a hassle, hoping each time I don't break the clips is a mundane task.2. with all the blades, there are times when the frozen fruits are left whole. (however, it does a better job than the Ninja)3. the container, again Blendtec has 4 sides, when tapping it converges to the pouring "spout." Nutribullet seems to stay in the grooved sides, a bit more time to clean haha.4. powerful yet not as loud as the Blendtec, +++++ for me. :)I'm use to the simplicity of Blendtecs design, I guess I could get used to the Nutribullet. :)
