Assuming you are looking at this product, you already have an interest in VR. However, if you’re still questioning your purchase consider my review. The Quest 2 is a product that, from a company I hate and yet I still purchased it, after using a VR headset exactly one time. Compared to other VR headsets, it does not have the power that they can promise, due simply to the fact that they can plug into a PC or Console to run the graphics and computing; but again, that should not shy you away from the Meta Quest line of headsets, purely because the games built for it do run at high speeds and do not require a ton of power. While the internals are not the number one on the market, they run the games for the headset at a comfortable performance for any VR user. Most of all, the headset’s ability to run VR without cords allows for true immersion compared to other VR headsets, and that’s something that cannot be beat. Oculus (the Meta subsidiary truly responsible for the Meta Quest line of headsets) is the leader in VR technologies and has absolutely out done themselves with the Meta Quest 2, and has created a new market of BR users. For productivity, the Meta Quest is not what Meta would like you to believe, but with apps like Virtual Desktop or Immersive, which connect you to your Windows or Mac (or even Linux with Immersive) desktop productivity is easily achievable in distracting spaces, as they disconnect you from the attention-stealing devices and other nuisances of the real world. So if you are looking to use this headset for productivity, do not use Meta apps and do not leave your laptop behind. If you need any further convincing that this product is a absolutely worth the money, as mentioned before, I personally only used VR headsets a total of two times, and the Quest only once before buying it the next day, and the reason for that is, I did not believe in VR or the experiences it promised before purchasing the Meta Quest, but after using it, I see true potential in VR and, honestly, believe that the Meta Quest delivers on those experiences in the best way possible when compared to other products. Personally, I used to mock VR and the Metaverse idea before using the Quest but now I see a future where VR is far more useful than I previously thought. And the Meta Quest is the first step there.

Mixed feelings about the system. Battery dies way too fast , games and “experiences” seem to be limited…. same game vendetta basically as others in the past, not much variety in my opinion…. how many shooter/zombie/end of times rpg’s are there ? I have found that also (I’m not sure if it’s the weight ) it’s headset is heavy and I get headaches fast almost like straining from holding it up ? I don’t know but my eye lense space setting is really between 2 of them so I kinda have to pick out of 2 where neither are right..::setting that’s too close together , or too far apart which makes it blurry and hard to see. I have noticed a lot of crashing in the games and library/store/browsers …… everywhere there’s not enough security or settings or restrictions on here and it’s a dangerous thing for children to be able to just meet randomt people in VR and chat with them. You never know if your 8 year old daughter is in the other room talking to a 25 year old …. Or if your 10-year-old son is watching adult content in vr browser…or being involved in convo about drugs or violence or bullying with other kids they normally wouldn’t come In contact with…the whole meta universe thing ..it’s a random quickly and loosely put together concept it has a lot of room for improvement and needs to make a lot more security options for the younger people on VR as well as actual limits from keeping kids out of things they shouldn’t really be into. Consequences, bans etc. Some of the games have great graphics though this whole review isn’t negative.Lol. Also, some of the little documentary things are very captivating. I wish that I would have bought a higher memory for storage capability, and I wish that I would have gotten the extra battery strap because I really don’t like how fast the thing dies. I would request also more games for younger, and also older VR users, and something new not just like every other game that gets released. I’m really getting bored with all these storylines as well as paying $30-$60 for a game and then going to go play it and it being a let down …the trailer was practically longer than the actual game ..:.a super short game without a lot of depth just really basic and disappointing. Lots of hype. There’s a lot of creativity apps on there that would theoretically be a good idea if they worked, but the majority of the things I have tried out end up crashing. Have a feeling this is gonna end up being a dust collector if they don’t make some serious changes. But hey they tried gotta give them that.
My son is much younger than the " suggested" age, but he is very easily bored and actually requires more challenging mental stimulation to keep from getting into mischief. I wanted to add more physical movement to his gaming, since its not like the 'go outside and play' era since no other kids are outside. It lets him still interact with actual people and burn off energy he had been having more mood swings from the lack of movement, I noticed a huge difference from. I love watching him move and get a kick out of how much he truly has mastered some of the games. I am getting his controllers and the entire thing fixed and in wirking order. He had NO ISSUES until one controller stopped holding any charge at all after about 7 months of hard core use. He had NO ISSUES until one controller stopped holding any charge at all after about 7 months of hard core use. If it can last with him, its truly remarkable. The games are affordable in comparison to the newest console that he also has. He has consistently used this over the PS model of VR. This is the future of more than gaming, its totally mind blowing and truly requires some skill and I can see myself becoming a fan or user myself if I can pry it from his head! It dies require arm room and it was a real battle when he had only tge living room as a space to use it...the punches we often were jabbed with, the heads up we are passing.. and dodging was definitely memorable..if not nuisance to his great grandmother. Funny thing is since its been in need if repair, she has been asking to get it fixed fir him because of the huge difference in how much his mood was improved with the use. You do require a facebook account, but that is because of the digital gaming aspect and I imagine to keep your purchases and other info for the right purposes. No different than any type of product with cloud capabilities. This is totally freestanding and you dont have to stand in front of a console or a camera to use it. There are no physical games, its all virtual. This will wear you out, and its limits are yet to be seen.
This is probably the best introductory VR headset you can get for its price. It is pretty powerful as a standalone and works well linking to your PC as long as your PC has the right specs. It is required to use either the Oculus Store (Facebook / Meta) or if your tech savy enough sideloading is possible as well. It is pretty powerful but the weight is a huge problem but so is most standalone headsets. The internal battery puts a huge front weight and that can be less comfortable, especially for the neck. Example: There is a third party straps that add a secondary battery strap for the back to counter the front weight. This can be benificial for adding battery life and lessening the front weight that presses against your forehead. There is a wide variety of games a couple of free but mainly you will need to put in a little bit of money for more if you really want to get down to it. It probably will end up adding another $20 depending on what you are looking for but be prepared for more. Again with the limitation of it being a standalone headset the resolution and refresh rate can be restricted but this is just hardware limitations due to its price point. So don't go expecting amazing graphics but its nothing to complain about either. Overall I can tell you that currently this is the best standalone headset you can buy at the current price point and with its wide range of features. If you really are looking for something higher end take a look at the Valve Index it is a very heavy investment starting at $1000 and requires a PC to get it running. Hope this helps!

For the price I paid for this, my satisfaction is wayyy too low. I've had it for almost a year, and from when I first purchased it, it just gets worse and worse. Yes, on the rare occasion that it works semi-correctly, it has become my new favourite platforms to game on. However, I really mean **rare occasion. I've completely given up on ever using the Air-Link because it quite literally runs 1-2 frames every few seconds because of how laggy it is- and that was after hours of trying to find out why (with little to no helpful resources online), and so I bought an overpriced cable online to just use that from now on. For the record- the computer I use is certainly not the problem. I've screen casted while using the headset, and it looks completely fine on my monitor, ... MoreFor the price I paid for this, my satisfaction is wayyy too low. I've screen casted while using the headset, and it looks completely fine on my monitor, but in the actual headset. the graphics are impossible to decipher whatsoever. The cable worked fine for a while, but now whenever I want to access any of my PC games on my headset (most of which are through Steam, which should be easy enough to use anyway), I'm met with a dead black screen. Extremely disappointing considering how much money I spent to play these PC games-- and now can't even use them because I'm not spending another 400-500 dollars to get another one of these pieces of junk. Audio is extremely buggy a lot of the time and the battery life is absolutely dreadful. It's constantly draining even when I have it plugged into my PC. I have tried everything from asking the community to contacting support on why this headset never wants to function decently, but with little to no guidance or help, and all I have left is to question the place I bought it from- Best Buy.
The virtual reality (VR) experience is absolutely mind-blowing, there's no denying that. The immersive nature of VR transports you to another world, and it's truly an incredible feeling. However, there are a couple of downsides to consider when it comes to the product itself.Firstly, the weight of the VR device can be quite bothersome. After using it for a while, you might start to feel some discomfort and even develop a headache. It's unfortunate that the product's design doesn't prioritize a lighter and more comfortable experience. This can definitely be a downside, as it takes away from the overall enjoyment of the VR experience.Secondly, the battery life of the device is quite disappointing. This can definitely be a downside, as it takes away from the overall enjoyment of the VR experience.Secondly, the battery life of the device is quite disappointing. It drains rather quickly, and this can be a major setback if you're hoping to use it for an extended period of time. It's frustrating when you have to constantly interrupt your VR sessions to recharge the device, especially when you're in the middle of an exciting virtual adventure. It would be much more convenient if the battery lasted longer, allowing for uninterrupted usage for at least a couple of hours.Despite these drawbacks, the sheer thrill and excitement that VR offers are undeniable. The immersive visuals, the ability to interact with virtual environments, and the overall sense of presence make it an unparalleled experience. It's just a shame that the weight and battery life of the product can hinder the overall enjoyment. Hopefully, future advancements in VR technology will address these issues and provide an even more seamless and comfortable experience
