I started working out daily a while ago; I guess

I started working out daily a while ago; I guess it was a positive aspect of the pandemic for me. I love how much training alters my mental health and, obviously, my body. My mum has been working out at home for over 20 years, and my great auntie (91) still uses her room bike daily! Therefore, exercising runs in my DNA 😊. I have tried many protein shakes, with or without large quantities of carbs, but ON products are premium. I find it incredible that each serving delivers 24 grams of protein, glutamine and BCAAs. Nonetheless, I take an amino acid complex after training as a routine. This strawberry shake tastes beautiful and is easily mixed with water. This strawberry shake tastes beautiful and is easily mixed with water. I learned never to add the powder to water a long time ago but to add water over the powder for better mixing. All other protein powders I used until now clump massively if I add them to water. This powder, however, is easy to mix either way. I usually whisk it manually with a small metal whisk and enjoy its delightful flavour and immense benefits. Nevertheless, I must confess that I always add a spoonful of collagen powder with my protein shake to enhance the benefits and almond milk powder. I consume approximately 55 grams of protein as such and also strengthen myself from the inside. But I always drink the shake within 5 to 10 minutes of finishing training. I am thrilled with this protein shake and ON products. If you can afford the price, you will not regret your decision.

I use protein supplement powder every day and have done

I use protein supplement powder every day and have done for many years, so I am always open to trying different variants to see if I can find anything that is markedly better quality or better value than I am using already. This protein shake is not my first experience of Optimum Nutrition products - but it has been quite some time since I last used their protein shakes. This is what I thought of this product: * The product is packaged well enough in a resealable tub with clear enough breakdown of ingredients and nutritional values. * The nutritional delivery is very much in line with other quality protein mixes I have used and very similar to my usual brand. * The powder is fine and mixes well into the water. It will mix perfectly adequately even if just shaken in ... MoreI use protein supplement powder every day and have done for many years, so I am always open to trying different variants to see if I can find anything that is markedly better quality or better value than I am using already. It will mix perfectly adequately even if just shaken in a bottle, though I prefer to use a hand blender, which gives an even smoother result. * The resultant mixture does not become particularly viscous, so people who like their protein drink to resemble a thick milkshake may have to experiment with reducing the amount of water. * On drinking, the mouthfeel is good and the flavour delivery is one of the better examples I have tried. There is no overpowering synthetic taste nor any unpleasant artificial aftertaste. * Cost comparison: Based on the current price of 15.00 for 310g this works out at around 1.50 per 31g portion, which is about 2.5 times the price of my current brand, which works out at 62p for the same size portion. The mouthfeel of both brands is very similar, although this Optimum Nutrition product make shade it slightly on flavour (but only based on this chocolate variant ... my usual brand has some other very impressive flavours in its range). So, in summary, although this is perfectly good product, it wouldn't tempt me away from my current regular product, simply because it is significantly more costly without offering markedly better quality. I hope you find these insights helpful.

Ok bad points, 3scoops a serving, so very thick and

Positives: easy to drink, very like milkshake. Fewer calories than many protein drinks, which could be a bonus if you're counting them or planning on drinking more than one a day. Negatives: personally, I find this cloyingly sweet which makes it feel like junk food. I have also noticed an odd new headache that started right after my first shake. I can't prove it's the artificial sweeteners. This shake has sucralose and acefulfame k, the latter of which I haven't knowingly tried before, but it's in Coke Zero, so if you tolerate that then this is probably ok. In the past another sweetener, aspartame, has given me a whomping headache. There is no aspartame in this product, but perhaps I'm discovering that I'm sensitive to more than one type of artificial sweetener. I ... MorePositives: easy to drink, very like milkshake. There is no aspartame in this product, but perhaps I'm discovering that I'm sensitive to more than one type of artificial sweetener. I get migraines. Some people have sweeteners as a trigger for the condition; if this affects you then you probably already have noticed. Acefulfame isn't allowed in baked goods in Europe, but you should probably do your own Googleing about why that is and whether it troubles you. On a different note, I find the instruction to use about one heaped scoop' really frustrating and annoying. Just give your customers a scoop that's the right size! It feels like a swizz to make people use the jar up faster than they need to.

Omg in love with the flavor!!!!

I receive this product for free from @Influenster and @Gold Standard in exchange for my honest review. The Cinnamon Roll flavor is wonderfully indulgent without being overly sweet. The rich taste resembles a fresh-out-of-the-oven cinnamon roll, complete with hints of cinnamon and icing. This flavor is perfect for those who enjoy a dessert-like protein shake. It mixes well with water, milk, or in smoothies, enhancing its versatility. Gold Standard Whey is known for its excellent mixability, and this flavor is no exception. It dissolves quickly in both cold and warm liquids, leaving no clumps behind. Whether you're using a shaker bottle, blender, or simply stirring, you'll achieve a smooth consistency every time. Vanilla ice cream flavour is the gold star of protein

Vanilla ice cream flavour is the gold star of protein product dessert flavours as far as I'm concerned, and Optimum have done an ace job of this one. It's sweet and creamy without being sickly sweet, and the vanilla flavouring is nice and natural without any artificial aftertaste. Very reminiscent of a No. 99 on the beach! Of course, the nutritional content is spot on as you'd expect from ON. It's the standard 24g protein hit at just 113 cals per scoop, rounded off with glutamine and BCAAs to make a great sports drink for muscle growth support. I'm surprised the sugar content is so low as the sweet taste doesn't come across as particularly artificial at all, surprising for a Sucralose-based shake. I'm surprised the sugar content is so low as the sweet taste doesn't come across as particularly artificial at all, surprising for a Sucralose-based shake. In terms of convenience, I've found these Optimum powders shake up really easily, even when using a plain old hand shaker. I've not had any issue with them leaving lumps or clumps yet. Personally I've been enjoying them with a milk/water mix - I prepare them by adding about 200-300ml skimmed milk first, then the powder, then topping up the shaker with water on top, which whips up a nice creamy shake that is still quite refreshing and not too heavy. Overall it's another winner from one of my favourite sports shake brands. My only gripe is that the pack is a little on the small side at 300g, but if the only down side is that I'd like more of it in a pack, then it must be a good one! A tasty thumbs up.

Why change a great thing?

I have in the past spoken and reviewed this product as the best among the lot but that was before Optimum Nutrition changed the ingredients. The old one had Aminogen, a blend of digestive proteases (enzymes) which helps absorption and helps the process of digestion. They took this out and instead added Cellulose Gum, Xanthan Gum, SALT & SUCRALOSE. The total number of servings was also reduced from 77 to 73 which is no big deal. Now, who in the world needs Salt added to their protein powder, as though we are not already consuming excess salt? Of what benefit is the addition of salt to the consumer? Likewise, how does the addition of Sucralose, an artificial sweetener and chlorinated sugar help the consumer? Will you rather have an ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER in your food or ... MoreI have in the past spoken and reviewed this product as the best among the lot but that was before Optimum Nutrition changed the ingredients. The old one had Aminogen, a blend of digestive proteases (enzymes) which helps absorption and helps the process of digestion. Likewise, how does the addition of Sucralose, an artificial sweetener and chlorinated sugar help the consumer? Will you rather have an ARTIFICIAL SWEETENER in your food or not? Did I mention that it already has Acesulfame which is also a sugar substitute? The addition of Sucralose has made the product so intolerably sweet and tastes so artificial. I never take it just with water alone since it's first use. I make sure to add raw old fashioned oats and increase the water to numb the sweetness but to no avail. The sweetness is absolutely overbearing and leaves a HORRIBLE aftertaste.Besides the bad taste, there's a divided opinion in the scientific world about the detrimental health effects of Sucralose. Just do a google search and draw your own conclusions.
