Well I thought I would review my experience with creation watches which to be fair went well. The watch was sent by air and then royal mail and not with dhl as I expected but no problem with this. From ordering to delivery in the uk it took 10 days. The watch arrived well wrapped but not in orient box.I did not incur any additional charges and therefore saved myself approx £70 which was a good saving (total cost of watch £107) retailing on amazon for about £170-200. Overall I had a good experience hence the 5 stars. To be honest I might be a bit nervous about buying a high end watch but in this price range definitely worth a punt so thank you to creation watches and nice watch!

After getting an Orient Bambino a year ago, I wanted to accompany this also very nice watch with an Orient diver´s watch. Initially I wanted either the Ray II or the Mako II, but then I discovered this Kamasu model which some people refer to as the ´Mako 3´. The main difference in favor of the Kamasu is the sapphire crystal. Sofar no regrets - the blue dial just look beautiful! I prefer this rubber strap over the steel one, but Ill soon replace it with a nice blue Zulu strap. If you want something other than a similar Seiko, this is a safe and good looking choice.

This is called the Orient K a m a s u and not Mako III. Its a new line similar to the Ray and Mako but with some improvements and a sapphire glass. What an EXCELLENT watch. I was in the market for my first everyday automatic watch and after reading several forums had decided to go for an Orient Ray II. However, judging from the fate of my previous fitness band, i knew it would be better to get a watch with sapphire glass. I looked at buying an aftermarket sapphire crystal for the Ray II and inclusive of fitting charges it was going to cost me just as much as this watch. So i decided to buy this watch instead as it came with sapphire from the factory so i wouldn't have to rely on a local watch shop to open it up and change the glass and compromise water resistance in ... MoreThis is called the Orient K a m a s u and not Mako III. So i decided to buy this watch instead as it came with sapphire from the factory so i wouldn't have to rely on a local watch shop to open it up and change the glass and compromise water resistance in case they didn't do a good job. Plus there is always the risk that there is some tiny dust/lint that gets onto the dial that will bother me massively. The way i see it, this watch has an arguably better design also (to my eyes) i like the sharper design of the hands and sharper triangle at 12 also the other indices are more angular v/s circles on the Ray II. I got the green one and the colour is fantastic. I was thinking of getting the blue as blue is generally considered versatile, but its far too common. I dontregret my decision of going for green. Its a really dark green/bottle green and almost looks black sometimes in ambient room light. The dial is actually a matte finish and if you look closely you can see the powdery matte finish on the dial. However, it does have that hour glass like shine (sunburst effect?) in the sun and in certain lighting but its not as pronounced as on the Ray II likely because of the sapphire glass and its optical properties. Also this watch fixes some niggling issues with the Ray II such as the ultra tight bezel. The bezel on this is smooth and doesn't require too much strength. Even the crown, while not extremely grippy, still manages to unscrew with relative ease. However, I think the engraved crown on the Ray II looks much better. The crown on the Kamasu looks laser etched or painted, i cant tell for sure but its certainly not a deep engraving like on the Ray II. Overall great fit and finish on the watch itself The accuracy on this has been really really good so far. I synced it to an online atomic clock and right now 3 days later it has gained only 1 second. So I imagine it will gain 3-5 seconds over the course of a week. UPDATE: Been wearing this watch for a couple of days now and at the end of a work day (wearing it for ~10 hours or so) it gains 2seconds. I leave it on my side table at night with the dial face up and by morning it automatically corrects itself and is back to the correct time as time.is. I am amazed at this accuracy. The only downside to this watch is the bracelet. I am a watch newbie and even i can tell this is a cheap bracelet. If i shake my arm it squeaks like an old car and is annoying. Also I am not a big fan of the finishing on the bracelet, mine came with some imperfections from the factory. Anyway i plan to throw on a NATO strap which is lighter and more convenient for daily use. If you're in the market for an entry level watch, i would say consider this. Its hard to beat the value this offers. Its a complete package for a reasonable price.

Watch keeps good time, +10 seconds a day, has bright lume on the hands and indices that lasts all night, and a solid build. Bracelet is less than ideal has it doesnt quite match the shape and size of the watch (Orients fault not the sellers). My main gripe is that the bezel did not line up with the hour markers but I guess thats what you can expect for a 200m, in house movement, original design for only $200. Overall a great watch.

Great value dive watch
12 August 2022

A watch that gets a lot of love on YouTube as one of the best dive watches for the money. I wanted the orange dial and had to wait for one to come up at the right price. Really like the watch especially the orange dial and the lume. Why the orange dial? It's a diver's thing really as you dive the light loses its colour starting with red and blue being the last - so the deeper you dive the more yellow the dial becomes. There are not many orange dial divers available - the most famous being by a brand called Doxa - so this makes the Orient Ray 2 Raven a really great watch at the orice

Kamasu Black and Gold
30 November 2021

This is a very nice watch. I changed the band to a black Milanese mesh and that helped the look a bit. The fit and finish of the watch are very nice. There are only two things that I do not like: 1. The internal winding mechanism is a bit louder than my preference. When you move the watch you can here the mechanism if you listen for it. 2. Turning the crown clockwise to manually wind the watch created a squeaky sound that I have not heard on automatic watched from other brands. These are not major issues. Otherwise, the watch maintains power reserve and only loses 6 seconds per day out of the box. Thats very good for an automatic watch. Price to value ratio makes it a great deal.

Orient Ray 2 Orange Dial
12 September 2018

The Orient Ray 2 with orange dial is a fantastic watch. It is the same size as the original Orient Mako, however it has a greatly improved bezel. The bezel is still slightly stiff, however, it is much easier to turn than on the Mako 1. The lume is also greatly improved. It is not quite as bright as Citizen or Seiko, but it is very close and by far better than most other dive watches I've owned. The orange is a very nice shade; it is neither too yellow nor too red. The timekeeping decent, but it is not as good as my original Mako which was about -5 to -10 seconds per day. This Ray 2 has been consistently at -20 seconds per day. All in all, the Ray 2 is a great value.

Orient, incredible value.
15 May 2021

This was an incredible deal. It was a pristine watch with many straps to go with it. Orient watches, in general, are arguably better than Seikos. They don't have the line up problems, and everything is made in house. Even though, the Kamasu has a sapphire crystal, I put a double domed sapphire, with a blue AR coating. I also put a coin edge bezel and ceramic bezel insert. It looks incredible. Go out and get one. You will not be disappointed.

This watch is just fantastic. It has excellent wrists presence and the case and dial are just gorgeous. The 120 click unidirectional bezel has a lovely action with absolutely no play at all. The lume on this thing is just fantastic! And easily the best in my collection. Hollow end links and pressed clasp take the edge off slightly, however with the sapphire crystal and in house movement; at this price it's an absolute steal. It looks brilliant on wrist and suits a nato/rubber band really well and demonstrates is versatility. Description of the power range is accurate and I have had no issues with this watch stopping when off the wrist. The box etc it comes in is flimsy and a bit crap, however I couldn't care less. The less they spend on the box the better. The money is clearly being put to good use elsewhere. In all a fantastic watch and one I would highly recommend. Punches well above its weight!

26 January 2020

I watched many reviews about this watch before buying, and it doesnt disappoint. It looks great, is comfortable, and for the price great quality. It has a sapphire crystal which is amazing for the price, but due to it being a budget/beater watch it means that theyve had to make other areas cheaper to accommodate that luxury. The main one of these is the strap, its not terrible, easy to adjust, just a little cheap. But definitely wouldnt put me off buying as once well adjusted on the wrist its barely noticeable. 100% recommend if you want a great automatic movement. Packaging as per the photos was great, it came with everything it should have, and arrived days ahead of the estimated delivery date.
