The sound from this cartridge combined with my new Pioneer Plx1000 turntable is incredible. Really does pick out the detail in the record and gives great bass and treble as you would want after spending out on this cartridge. I think the ease of installation is a huge plus point.

When Shure announced they were discontinuing their carts, I was gutted as they set the bar for me as both a DJ and audiophile. After trying a few with no success, the reviews led me to the Club. Out of the box, with only a 3 gram adjustment, I was up and running. A minute in, I knew I struck gold as it handled Daft Punk's Random Access Memories with low end punch, power, and beautiful highs. Much better than the Ortofon Red, the DJ unit plays like a Hi-Fi cart (almost as good as the Blue) with the ability to back cue and even scratch. It truly is an amazing cart for the price, one that will truly satisfy SHURE 44-7 purists like myself and one that even looks deadly (with swappable coloured arms!!) I could go on but I'll save you from my drool. Yes, it is that good.

Overall:Why I love Concordes as nedles for my turntables: Concordes are great needles. I had them years ago when I played records at shows all the time. I bought a pair for my turntables in my studio. Although I am not in the DJ and event planning business any more. I still hav a dream to build a studio and mini hang out area with a night club feel in my basement. zZounds has allowed me to slowley build this expensive but fun crazy vision of mine. When its all said and done I will have probsbly inveted 50K into my basement studio and mini nightclub hang out space. I can't wait until it is 100% complete. This will be my space where I can chill, relax and get creative with what ever I'm doing (read only)

I ordered the pick-up element to install in my 'new' Technics SL1200Mk5.Since i really love the sleek look of the element and hate the elements using a headshell (at least the look of them) i loved this one.Once installed i put on my first record in about 20 years and immediately heard the difference in music between the 'modern' streaming techniques and the warmth and soul of vinyl. What this Ortofoon did with my old records was simply amazing. I used to have a Dual record player but now finally wanted something even better and i really found it.Although i'm not using this in a profesional environment i really can tell everyone who wants to hear how good this element is.
I'm very happy with the performance of this cartridge. I'm not a DJ, and the Concorde series is geared more towards the home audio user. For the price point I find this cart to be a good value. I like the clean look. One drawback for some may be the lower needle height from yout previous cartridge. It's not a huge issue, just something to be aware of if your current set-up has a lot of height when the tone arm is raised.
A year ago, I purchased this Ortofon Concorde MKII club cartridge. I love it!However, when I decided to buy a second one this year, I have encountered issues. After two returns from another dealer, the stylus on both were out of alignment. In addition, the stylus (viewing from the front) is not balanced. To detect the alignment issue was simple a visual. Finding that the stylus was not balanced correctly required an anti-skate record. I set the counterweight to 3 grams (recommend), and the anti-skate to 2.5, and then to 3.0 settings. Both times and the tonearm flew to the center spindle. Nope, nothing wrong with my anti-skate mechanism. Works fine with my other cartridges (same setting requirements). The stylus itself needed to be level in order to track properly.
I've been testing carts for my two-table setup. I purchased the MKII Club a couple of days ago, got it today, set it up, and within seconds I knew I found THE ONE and I needed to grab another immediately. I A/B'd it in real-time against an Ortofon 2M Red on identical turntables playing two pristine copies of the same records, same phono preamps, same mixer, same amp and speakers. It sounds beautiful; the low end is punchier and the high end sounds more airy, more detailed, and less sibilant than the 2M Red. I did not expect that; I was hoping to get close but it turns out the MKII Club sounds better than a 2M Red and pretty close to an Ortofon 2M Blue, AND you can back-cue with it without trashing your vinyl or having the tonearm jump all over the place. I didn't think that was possible. If you're hesitating because it's a few more bucks than the spherical Ortofon carts; as long as you're not Kid Koala or Qbert, I say go for it.
Since the sad news of Shure discontinuing their white label line, I was at a loss for a suitable replacement, until I was recommended by a fellow DJ to try these bad boys and oh boy, I was not disappointed. The concorde club mk2 s are simply sublime. Not only is the sound reproduction on point, they really can take a beating (scratch DJs take note) and will happily come back for more! Yes, they re not cheap, but my word, they re up there with the best!
One of the best ortofon concordes i have used to date. An easy setup and once broken in prepare for sonic bliss. Seriously if you want a concorde that oozes quality then this badboy is the one to buy ??
I ordered a replacement for my Shure Cartridge and I am blown away by the sound quality upgrade that the Ortofon Club gave me. My older records have come alive and my newer ones have an added depth and bass. The tracking force is greater than the Shure but was easily adjusted for. It was a great buy!
