They are the bosses. Kids make pizza, money and (hopefully) a profit while they run a funny cartoon pizzeria! When they invest their profits in improving the store, players learn how to develop their own business. Fun-filled learning is our favorite combo. Children learn better with practical play. By moving the tangible pieces and giggling by observing the clientele of animated characters, they learn a lot (whether they know it or not). Master mathematics and real world money. Pizza Co. is a great way to practice addition, subtraction and division — including quick mental mathematics. The level of difficulty automatically adjusts to the abilities of the children. Mathematics have never been so delicious.

My daughter has many of the Osmo games and expansion packs. This one is by far my favorite for her to learn with. It incorporates math skills with the use of counting money. It is one of the only games I have seen that allows kids to learn the necessary skills of counting money. All of the Osmo games are extremely interactive and maintain a child’s attention even if they have difficulty focusing. There is so much to do and the levels continuously grow with them all the way up to age 12. Highly recommend any and all Osmo products.

My 6 year old who just finished kindergarten struggles to play this on her own. They money and addition and subtraction is still a bit over her head. It’s also frustrating that it doesn’t read or speak the directions. She often doesn’t know what the customers want. The grunting is a bit ridiculous. The customers get mad and leave bad reviews if she takes too long so instead of focusing on the math and doing it correctly she gets flustered. Overall I think it would be good for Oder kids that can read independently and have better understanding of money and addition and subtraction. The age rating of 5 or even 6 isn’t appropriate for this game.

While the umbrella app allows you to download apps for the other Osmo games (provided you have the sets to make them work), it also gives you access to the Osmo ‘world,’ where your child can interact with characters and environments for free (and/or using coins you earn while playing the Pizza Co. game). Folks, the game might be for kids, but let me tell you, it’s a blast. My son and I played for two hours straight together one night and an hour and a half the next. We took turns making the pizzas and cashing out customers. The game teaches kids customer service, organization skills, money counting, expenses, income, and budgeting… and they have no idea that they’re learning this, as it’s all based in a fun fast-paced and interactive game. I had to tell my son all that he was learning with Osmo. He shrugged and said, ‘Cool, at least it’s a lot of fun.’ This is one of the first apps that he actually comes to get me to play, saying ‘Dad, the customers are waiting. When are we playing Osmo?’ I love our time together, and I love the way this app is set up.Now, the accessories. First, let me say, you cannot use any bumpers or protectors on your iPad while using the Osmo base and mirror. The base and mirror recesses are intended to hold, or hold onto, only the iPad. This is sort of an inconvenience, as I don’t let my son use his iPad without a bumper. But, the minor inconvenience of removing the bumper is well worth the cost of having a fun and educational time with my son.The app is so much fun. You create a profile. You can set the math difficulty level to making pizzas only and making pizza and: counting bills only (no coins), counting bills and change in $.25 increments, counting bills and including change in $.25, $.10, and $.05 increments, and counting bills and including change in $.25, $.10, $.05, and $.01 increments. There are just enough bills and change so as not to get overwhelming. And, the game (characters and meters) visually prompts you whether the change offered is too much, too little, or the right amount. The harder the math, the more you might get in tips. My son is going into 3rd grade. We’re started with bills and steadily worked our way into coinage. You make pizzas based on prompts from characters. Some customers will ‘ask’ you through visual prompts to match an exact ingredient pattern. Other customers will tell you the ingredients that they do or don’t like. Yet others will tell you that they want ¼ or a ½ of a pizza with certain ingredients. You watch the character’s expressions and listen to their verbal reactions to determine how happy they are. The happier they are, the more store ‘buzz’ you generate, and the more customers you get. After ‘sliding’ the pizza in the oven, you remove the ingredients and flip the board over. The app sees the flip as being ready to cash out a customer. This action reinforces the need for organization and time management (given you have to put the ingredients back in the ingredient tray to make sure you can easily get to them for other customers). Some customers pay the exact bill. Others ask for change. This also teaches organization (you have to keep your cash and change tray organized) and time management. The time management piece comes in when you’re making pizza and a customer is ready to cash out. A count-down timer shows… same with when you cash out a customer and someone is waiting to order a pizza. When customers cash out, some leave real-time feedback ‘on their cell phones,’ which your kiddo can read on screen (reinforcing reading skills). At the ‘end of the day,’ you find out how much you earned, how much you spent in ingredients used, how much you spent in deliveries to replenish ingredients, how much you received in tips, and how much income you had for the day after income and expenses are tallied. Income goes in the bank. Savings are used to purchase ingredients (automatically withdrawn) and can be used to improve the store (hardware, flooring, posters, plants, paintings, etc.) I don’t know what happens if you don’t have enough money in the bank for ingredients, etc. I taught my son to save money and budget for ingredients and deliveries so that he doesn’t run out of money. There are incentives (including reaching goals such as saving money and improving the restaurant) all over the place to hold kids’ (and honestly, parents’) interest. Almost all settings can be modified. Osmo really thought this one through. One final note, the entire set collapses into an easy-to-use and durable, locking container. The Osmo base sits on the container. The mirror that fits over your iPad camera is magnetic and stays securely in the Osmo base.Folks, this set is very much worth the purchase… so much so that I’m looking into the other Osmo sets. You and your kiddo will have hours (and likely days, weeks, and months) of fun together making pizzas, running and pizza shop… all in an educational (and fun) environment. Give Osmo a chance. You won’t regret it.

An amazing gaming (and learning) experience!
20 October 2022

Everyone knows how great this game is for kids to learn about money and stuff. But the difficulty slider allows this to be a quality gaming experience for anyone of any age. On higher difficulties, you need RAPID subtraction abilities (much harder than in sounds) and masterful topping placement to get that perfectly satisfied star-eyed reaction from the customers. Your optimization of resetting toppings and money between the expressive animations is also crucial to mastering this game!Do yourself a favor and buy Osmo Pizza co, if you have any interest in GAMING. You will not be disappointed. And if you have little kids, I guess they can play too idk

After working on several customer orders, the app shows how much profit was made for the day. This money goes into a piggy bank and can be used to upgrade the shop. The difficulty level for the game can be adjusted in the settings and the app provides hints if the kids are stuck at any step.My kids enjoyed the game and played for hours, while learning addition, subtraction and fractions in the process and running their pretend pizza shop. Once done playing, all toppings and money go into their respective slots in the storage container, which is very handy to keep all pieces organized.Overall, this is an excellent learning game for kids, that is fun to play and also teaches important math and business skills. It is a perfect educational gift for kids, as it includes the Osmo base component as well.

Great Learning Tool!

My kids like just about anything they are able to play with the iPad. I like that this game and concept gives them the little bit of technology they like to make it interesting and is still hands on with physical contact. I still have to do that for them in the junior mode because there is no talking, everything is visual. So until they can learn all the hints and tools the game is giving them to figure out the right answer I still have to help them so they don't get too frustrated. The normal play mode has a timer and your customers get frustrated and you get sad faces if you aren't quick enough. It encourages speed in doing the math problems and copying the visual. As the game goes on they incorporate more math ideas like fractions, but they give you a visual so you can learn. If the child is playing alone in the normal mode they will need to be able to read. Also, the game music is not so over the top loud and annoying too. The only real negative is sometime the game would say that we did not make our pizza right when clearly we did, therefore we didn't get the happy face we want to get. Overall great learning game.

Both my kids 3 and 8 were so excited to receive Osmo pizza starter kit. There was nothing indicating which generation iPad was compatible. As soon as my kids received it they immediately opened it and played with it as is, money and pizza. They played pretend ordering pizzas from each other and took turns paying for extra toppings. Unfortunately after trying and trying to get the game to work on our iPad it failed. There is no indication on the box exactly what iPad it is compatible with, so if you were looking at it in the store to buy as a gift you wouldn’t know if it would work or not. We intend to buy our kids a tablet directed toward Children and give this another go. It is still on their bedroom shelf and they are waiting patiently. From what I’ve seen them play pretend pizza shop that alone is worth it for us. If we can get it to work as intended I know they will love it even more.

Love the idea but a little complicated
17 January 2022

I bought this for my two kids to get practice with money and making change. They were excited, but it moves too quickly. Maybe there is a setting I need to adjust but if you don't make change fast enough the customers get mad and ones waiting will leave. So if my daughter can't keep up she just gets frustrated and walks away. They haven't played it much and usually, I'm there making the change which defeats the purpose. I wish they had as much time as they needed to figure it out. I love the idea though.

Teaches through interactive play

This Pizza Co game for Osmo requires the base, I have an ipad mini 3 and it is compatible. My 10 and 11 year old plays this, the 11 year old actually has a little fun with math, which is great to see. My ten year old though, she loves this game. She has even claimed, she may one day open a pizza place of her own. So how the game plays is you have your own pizza business with customers. The pizza has two sides, a gray one and the cheese side. The ipad/Osmo recognizes what toppings you put on a pizza and you "cook" it, then when there are new customers, the player flips it back to the gray side. The player makes change with the money pieces. It helps with adding, subtracting, fractions, and a little business savvy lesson in playing as well. Recommended for children ages 5-12, it says it adjusts difficulty level to the player, and for my two it sure did, they are similarly matched, and from my observations were the perfect level of math skills being used, required a bit of thought, but not too hard to master. I think after 3 weeks of playing my daughter's confidence has built a lot with making change.

This is so cool
29 November 2022

I bought this for my 5 y.o. Honestly it is a really cool game. The kids make pizzas, hand out change, even get to decorate their shop. Setting the difficulty is easy, it never goes past what they can handle. If it is getting to be too much for them it has its own way of slowing it down. I also love the other free games you get and how if you end up getting a newer IPad, you just move the app over; not like a game system where you would have to buy everything again. Imma keep buying Osmo.
