As a slight female runner I struggle to find a nice 15L and over that can either be snug or looser, as well as comfortable, depending on the distance, packing, terrain etc. This is the only larger capacity running pack that has been suitable for my needs and preferences. The elastic vest strap fitting give superb freedom of movement for hard efforts (if you've ever tired this with a UD fastpack, you'll know why this is so important) but the lower fixed straps provides the stability needed for heavier loads and long distance comfort. As always, some tweaks could be made, for example another zipper pocket on the chest strap so that these are symmetrical. I'd also like to see an improvement on pole placement and security, as well as an integrated waterproof cover. ... Without a doubt my favourite purchase from osprey. Lightweight with ample room, the amount of pockets for storage and separation between compartments means this is the most efficient bag i've ever used. Fits snugly and doesn't rub against my back or arms (previous bag gave me a friction burn so this is nice), and the soft flasks are really easy to fill, use and clean. Very pleased with this purchase

I bought this pack about a month ago and immediately used it for a week of day hikes around the Chamonix valley. I’ve had a previous version of this pack and am enjoying the updated features including the shorter hydration tube and horizontal zipper for easier access to hydration pack and main storage. It’s much easier to refil the water reservoir now without having to navigate the long tube through a tiny loop in the pack. Just more user friendly.I am looking forward to many more miles with this pack, hopefully including some running miles with it soon.

I really like Osprey products but this one seriously let me down. I tested this product while wearing a sleevless shirt (because it's crazy hot in UT right now) for both hiking and trail running. I did not have trekking poles.Pros:-Chest straps are clever and easy to use, especially if you have lightweight gloves on.-Loved the backpack part, good pockets and good zippers.-Front pockets are nice and spacious fit my S20 well.Cons:-Really bad chaffing on the side where my arms touch my upper chest sides, especially during hiking, not as much rubbing while running. If you have very wide shoulders and a narrow torso you probably won't be bothered but if your arms touch the sides of your chest even a little you will definitely be feeling it. It surprises me how many tags and straps they have right there to rub your arms.-The hose is supposed to stay put with a magnetic attachment....but the moment I started running within 5 steps it came loose. And I ended up having to run the whole trail with the hose held in one hand so it wouldn't flop around. The idea works well on their day packs but with running being much more impactful and bouncy I feel like this would only work with a significantly stronger magnet.
I love all Osprey packs as they are lightweight and have a great design. I chose this pack for longer runs that could carry a bigger bladder, a rain jacket and plenty of snacks plus mini first aid kid. Could also carry water filtration and other accessories. Often during my races (especially the 6-8 day stage races across the country) I am required to carry my own rain jacket and pants as well as self-rescue equipment. This bag can handle that. I have not had any of the arm-rubbing experiences others have mentioned. The only two issue I have is the waist belt rides high up on my navel and often keeps riding up so I have to tug it down on occasion. I have tried adjusting all my belt straps to find the best combination but no matter what I do it still rides up with ... MoreI love all Osprey packs as they are lightweight and have a great design. I have tried adjusting all my belt straps to find the best combination but no matter what I do it still rides up with running. The second issue is common with Osprey bags unfortunately and is the fact that the hip pockets sit back too far and are quite small. For this bag, the hip belt pocket size is ok as it is meant for running so GU and salt tabs etc are easily stashed here but don't expect large items like your phone to go here. The side chest zip carries my large iphone no problem and I can even slide it in one of the chest pockets. As for the magnetic hydration tube holder, it's pretty useless and I have had to replace it with a chest clip and have cut down my tubing so it doesn't flop around. It's now perfect.
I purchased this backpack when I couldn’t find my usual one (Osprey Dyna 6) after we moved. I finally found my Dyna 6 one but this one’s capacity is double my usual pack, and I wanted both options, depending on how long I’m gonna stay outside. I eventually returned this one because the straps are a little awkward (I’m medium busted and it was just kinda weird), and it wasn’t easy to put my iPhone 13 Pro in the front pockets. I also have a Garmin InReach mini that I want to have available up front too but this pack didn’t fit the bill. Other than that, the bladder was perfect size and easy to fill and clean, and the storage can hold my jacket, snacks, and other essentials for a long day hike.
I purchased the Osprey Dyna 15 specifically as a larger capacity vest for longer unsupported trail runs where I need to carry a water filter, lots of calories, extra layers, first aid, etc.Sizing:- The Dyna fits me in S/M - I'm 5'6"/150lb, and own the Aura 65 in S and Kresta 40 in S/M.Pros:- Hip belt pockets mean not having to take the pack off to get a lip balm or gummies; a "small stuff" top-loading pocket for quickly finding sunscreen and essentials; the exterior stretch mesh compression pocket provides easy access to get a rain jacket on and off in changing conditions. The main compartment is large (in a good way.)- Doesn't bounce even when loaded up with stuffCons:- The interaction with the bladder hose is my biggest gripe. The placement of the ... The main compartment is large (in a good way.)- Doesn't bounce even when loaded up with stuffCons:- The interaction with the bladder hose is my biggest gripe. The placement of the connection between the bladder and the hose falls right on the shoulder, and it disconnects fairly frequently. The hose feels long and floppy in the front of the pack and it slides down in the magnetic clip. Overall I just find the hose annoying.- It doesn't play well with Salomon 500ML bottles in the front pockets. It may work better with the Osprey/Hydraulics brand flasks but I'm skeptical.- I wore this without sleeves a few times and had chafing on my shoulders.- The front straps are hard to deal with on the move, but I haven't had any actual issues with it.Overall, the Dyna is not perfect but it meets my specific needs and I would make the same choice again.
Great pack! I've had it for a year or so. Good for trail running and day hikes The minimalist structure makes it harder to get comfortable for longer hikes if pack it full but in general best small pack I've ever owned. I like the chest pockets for easy to access snacks and phone. Plenty of easy to use pockets. Stays put when you're running. A bit tough to figure out comfort at first for women with larger breasts or any lower tummy, but hey, that's hiking/trail running equipment, right? I wear a small-medium, am a muscular, big hipped 5'2" and weight about 155.The unfortunate part is the pack's adjustable straps easily come off on both ends. This is a great feature for crisscrossing them (avoiding nipple rubbing) or changing the weight-bearing on your shoulders BUT they are extremely easy to lose. The hose hook for the hydration reservoir was lost in a day of hiking immediately after I got the pack and it took me almost a year to misplace both straps. I wish they sold a replacement strap or have an extra one with purchase.I ordered a replacement part so it's great they have that on warranty.
This backpack is perfect for carrying the essentials for a day hike. It is super comfortable and it is ideal to have certain items accessible in the front pockets. The front zipper pocket is large enough for the largest size iPhone. The side belt pockets are also very large and have easy access. I highly recommend it for people with shoulder issues. I think it also improves posture because it helps you maintain the back straight and the shoulders over the hips and not hunched at all. What a great feeling to have a backpack that hugs your body and moves with you and not against you. Best hiking backpack I ever had. I am so happy that Osprey is making the Tempest with the vest style straps. That one is definitely my next purchase for winter hikes when I have to carry ... One negative: It may be hot in the summer. Still, the comfort out weights the heat, for me.
I bought a different running pack that I hated and returned so I did a lot of research to find what I needed. This one sounded perfect. And It was exacy what I was looking for and more The fit is comfortable for a woman’s body and I forgot I had it on several times. I wasn’t sure about the sternum straps and waste belt, but they helped keep the pack secure on my back. It’s compatible for a water bladder including a space for the hose on the shoulder strap. The bladder was secure in place and didn’t swish around when running. I liked that it has lots of pockets to keep things organized. It’s larger than other running packs, but I needed something for the longer days that would fit the essentials in case of an emergency: extra layers, rain jacket, extra food, water ... The material is durable, I didn’t have to worry about ripping it. It’s a little heavier than other running packs, but the fit makes it comfortable to easily balance everything I need in one space. I have a smaller pack for shorter hikes or runs. But this one will now be my go-to back for longer days on the trail. I read another review of someone who used this and loved it on the Tour de Mt Blanc.
