This is a great little tool. We pit our olives before curing, so they are very firm. This gadget handles the job well. The only issue has been that such a wet year has provided us with very big olives, some of which struggle to fit in between the frame and the plunger. It's a hundred times better than the plastic one we had previously, which flexed out of shape on this job.

I have had this cherry pitter for a while now (maybe a year) and have used it a few times but for some reason I used it today and it seemed like every 3rd seed got stuck and I had a hard time removing it. I really like the design and how it works. I have rheumatoid arthritis and cripping in both hands but it is easy for me to maneuver. I don't understand why it gave me so much trouble today.

This is a good product; however, it does tend make a lot of juice splashing when you are pitting cherries. They can get stuck. After years of use my other one broke, but since it is so reasonably priced I went and got another one.

Love this little tool.We left it with a box of cherries on the table for Christmas and it was certainly a lot of fun for everyone in the family to enjoy.My niece loved it for her toddlers to be confident they weren't going to swallow the cherry pips.Great little gift for the kitchen king or queen who has everything.I have stewed some cherries recently and the Cherry pitter saved so much time and no stained fingers !! The splatter guard works well but you still need to be careful that your clothes don't get spattered, especially if wearing a light colour.
If George Washington had this cherry pitter he would never have cut down that cherry tree! Easy to use and clean. Makes a great addition to my kitchen tools. Works great with cherries and olives.
It is so easy to use and works perfectly. I bought it for a recipe that called for sweet cherries. The recipe turned out great and now I use it just to eat cherries by themselves.If you like cherries, this is a must have.
I bought this for olives as I don't eat cherries. This is useless unless you have the hardish large olives.The olives I buy in a jar are kalamata and they just get squished with this. It's better to just cut into themwith a knife and de-stone them by hand than to lose half your olives in this contraption.I haven't tried this on cherries, but they are generally larger than olives and a bit firmer so might be OK.
Having spent time in a kitchen for some 70 years, this is the one tool I thought I would do have to do without! When Cherry Season comes again, I'll be ready and well-armed to remove the pits with ease - will never have to "cave" and go without a luscious pie, or delicious ice cream. The Pitter's design is sleek and sturdy, looks to be a sturdy worker. Can't wait to put it to work for me!
This cherry pitter is worth the money. I did have trouble reattaching the spatter shield when a pit got stuck. It kept coming off even though I was careful to line up the slots. I finally got it lock back in place. I have since used the pitter with several pounds of cherries, and it’s worked well.
That's what you want, right? An item to do what it is made for; that is what this does. I have run into some larger than normal pits that get stuck in it, but they came out easily, no other issues at all. So if you have a desire for cherry cobbler made with real cherries this will pit them all.
