I love this Oxo compost bin. It is true to the product description, especially regarding the "smooth interior walls prevent food and liquids from building up and make cleanup simple".I think this is the easiest of all my kitchen tools to clean up. I love it so much that I a ordered another bin to use as our kitchen garbage (to replace the black garbage bin in the photo). During the cooler months I've been using it without the lid, and in the summer I'm sure I will use it with the lid to reduce fruit flies. Simple, high quality, well thought-out product.

As the summer comes to a close, we have increased the grilling we are doing. With the recommendation of our doctor, we're cooking more at home in general now. I was very happy to receive this compost bin. Sometimes when yiure grilling multiple items you need a place to put trash per say like the tops of carrots or shrimp shells. This is a good place to dispose of those items until youre done. It was also easy to clean. I would recommend to others!

We give our compost to a local garden and use their big buckets to transport it - these buckets sit in our garage until they're full. Instead of opening them every time we need to throw away compost, we'd been using a Tupperware-like bowl and just put in the freezer until it was full enough to empty. After I ordered the 0.75 I was worried it was going to be to small, but it is perfect. It holds a lot, I love that the lid comes off for easy dumping and controlling oder. I got the gray, it is sleek and classy looking on my dark granite countertops. I highly recommend this product.
I have been composting for years - using various methods like circular geobins, the Jora Compost Tumbler, vermicomposting in the Worm Bag and in a specially built compost structure. I like the size and shape for what I am using for - scraps specifically for the chickens. I am wishing the inside were stainless steel. Plastic is porous and hangs on to smells. I am cleaning this out daily but my stainless steel bin only occasionally. I’m going to give it 5 stars because it works for what I intended, but it could be even better with stainless steel interior, like my OXO mixing bowls.
I have been using a regular bowl for mt countertop compost before taking it to the bin outside, this bin looks much nicer and is definitely a better use of space. It is gray so it blends into the background just about anywhere. The lid closes tightly so the bugs dont make it inside. The lid also comes off easily for cleaning. I lvoe the handle, which makes carrying it outside to the big bin a piece of cake, even for my snall children.
The Easy-Clean Compost Bin is small and yet the perfect sized for my kitchen. I had previously been using bowls but the kids find the handle much easier to carry the container to our bin. They can easily dump the contents as well. I find that this cleans extremely quickly and does best with a washcloth and not scrub pads so it won't scratch. The lid removes for cleaning as well as quick dumping. The lid closes and seals out odors and I wish I had added one to our kitchen sooner.
Just what I was looking for. Others are too big or have that odor control thing in the lid, which I don’t need. It’s hard plastic with some kind of slippery plastic inside so the scraps slide out easily. Lid can be removed when taking scraps out to the bin if you want. Handle is nice, comfortable width and shape. Inside isn’t dishwasher safe, but that’s ok. I’ve been looking for something like this after usung a transparent container which isn’t nice to look at.

I have to say the OXO Easy-Clean Compost Bin is very durable and very well made. It has a handle to easily carry it around and the inside is very smooth and very easy to clean. There are no nooks or crannies for garbage to get stuck. It is the perfect size for the counter and great for when I'm cutting up a salad. It's .75 gallon capacity and I obviously empty and clean it after every use. It comes in handy for me. I would recommend.
