I like ice trays with covers to prevent things from falling onto the ice and this design works really well as the cover slides off for filling and ice removal. The cover also helps with stacking multiple trays. The ice pops out easily with a gentle twist of the tray. Price also very reasonable considering the brand.

I don't actually think that the tray is "spill-proof", but it is nice to have a cover on the tray. I have to say that the cover was very hard to open initially, but it became easier to open and close with time and use.

A friend had this ice tray design before OXO acquired them. I love the easy way the ice pops out. The shape of the each ice section makes the water freeze faster. The cover makes them easy to stack. They are not cheap. I expect them to last for the next 20 years. I bought three.

These make smaller cubes than traditional trays. Regarding all the reviews saying they come out SO easy... they do but ONLY if you do not use the cover. They are super hard to come out if you use the cover or if you just lay the cover on top so you can layer another tray above it to freeze. Even though I use less water in the one I will cover, I still find them hard to release. My traditional trays work better and those can stack without a cover...these will not, These will fall into each other if you don't use the cover in between trays.
Love this ice cube tray with sliding cover. It block off oder from other items in the freezer and I can easily moving it around not worrying the cubs will be in contact with uncooked item in the freezer.
I love these because they close. Before I used to be very careful that the water wouldn’t spill when I opened the freezer. No more worries. Compact and inexpensive.
The Oxo ice cube tray is a winner. I don't know why others did not come up with the cover idea for ice cube trays. Genius idea! One you fill the tray you can immediately stack it with other trays or put your frozen items right on top of it. No more freezer bags stuck in the ice cube tray. Thanks, Oxo!
My icemaker is kaput but I didn't want to pay to replace it. These ice cube trays got great reviews, and they live up to the hype. Much easier to pop out the ice than other trays we tried. The covers are great if you're short on space and need to stack them.
