OXO Good Grips Mini Strainer

This strainer has a finer mesh than the generic strainer I bought from Webstaurant. It’s pricier, but has a nicer finish to it than the generic version. In a commercial kitchen, I would probably go for the generic strainer. But in my personal kitchen, I prefer the OXO product for its nicer hand-feel.

Excellent product

Solid, well made, easy to use and wash up. Use in a variety of ways. It feels very substantial, should lastquite a long time. 8 In. is large enough for most jobs.

Got clogged with particles in 3 months

I have used OXO products earlier and expected better quality. The strainer has 2 layers and I used it for straining tea and now there are tea particles stuck between the layers. The draining now occurs through only 10% of the area because the remaining is clogged. I would rather spend on a cheap one now that I know that an expensive one is useless.

Great strainer

Just what I wanted: a very fine mesh strainer that is very sturdy. This strainer is such beefy construction that I can’t imagine it ever wearing out like my old strainer did. I use it to make “cowboy coffee”: when I just want one cup, I boil coffee grounds in water and then strain out the grounds. It is fine enough too do a great job, with only the finest powdered grounds getting through. Love it!

Handle not securely connected to basket

I generally think of OXO as a high quality brand, but I was disappointed with this product. The handle is connected to the basket with two metal struts (not sure if it's glue or something else), and one of the struts came loose after about 5 uses. It's still functional, but the basket flops around when you are using it.I would say that the mesh basket itself is high quality, but the handle/basket connection is not durable.

I like it, sturdy, decent size.

This is a solid, sturdy strainer, very well made, no sharp edges to cut the fingers.The mesh is fine enough for straining brown rice, beans, berries, etc. which iswhat I use it for. Washes up easily. The handle is very comfortable, easy to grip.The diameter inside the rim at the top is about 6 3/4" which is adequate, althoughI wish it was slightly larger.

OXO products are always great! This is well made !

I think OXO products are always great and am replacing most of older utensils with OXO as they need replacement. This is a heavy built strainer for small needs. I was tired of cheaply made ones getting out of shape, discoloration and some even started rusting. With OXO products it’s an investment that ends up being a valued part of kitchen and the best value long term. I appreciate that BB&B carries this brand and the option to pick up in store or mail order for my convenience. I look to both names to keep my home operating efficiently and smoothly.

Really nice sturdy strainer!

This is a really nice sturdy strainer. Made well like all OXO brand items are. I haven’t had one like this before and have been without even a junky one for some time now. This one won’t get misshapen like cheaper models. This should last me a really long time and hold up to whatever use I put it through.

The BEST strainer.

We first purchase a Cuisinart strainer, thinking that the brand would equal quality. The handle broke off within a few short months.We then found this OXO strainer and wish that we would have purchased it in the first place. It's simply fantastic. Durable. I doubt that will ever fall apart. The handle grip is terrific for older hands.

Well made and designed.

I had a vaguely similar looking strainer that wasn't nearly so well made and the edges of the screen came out of the frame. The wire was sharp and drew blood a couple of times. So I bought for quality this time and am quit pleased. The bonus with this strainer is that it is well designed with a tab opposite the handle to help it stay in place when sitting on a bowl. The handle is comfortable to hold and provides a good grip.
