I bought this heat gun to remove a 90mm PVC down pipe from the drain pipe where it had been glued in. Heating the outside of the female section of the pipe allowed me to get a small scraper between the pipes' joint and pull them apart. Such a reasonably priced unit that saved me time and money. Like all my Ozito tools (the best being my mulcher) this is a gem.

Bought this for a budget kitchen renovation to strip doors and cabinetry. The gun was able to strip all layers to reach bare wood which looks absolutely gorgeous! Have only used the nozzle attachment and scraper which have been very handy. It took a long time to get all layers off one door, and with 8 doors to do, I've decided to use paint stripper first to get the paint off. After cleaning and drying, I will then take off what's left with the heat gun. Super easy to use and has saved me a lot of time.

Bought his to lift paint from an old door. Worked beautifully. Comes with some useful tools and attachments. Only one suggestion: The dial that governs the heat intensity could do with some detents so you can easily rechoose a setting. Apart from that it's excellent and cheap, always a good combination.

I purchased this heat gun for a specific purpose that requires a relatively low heat. This product's advertising claimed that it has very wide temperature range, from as low as 50oC. I need about 80C. The gun worked extremely well. HOWEVER, at one point the plastic I was heating got close to melting. I checked the temperature setting control. It had moved considerably. The knob has no fixed positions and is very easily moved by accident. Aside from this I am very impressed with this heat gun. For less than $40 it's much better than using a hairdryer as I did in the past! Overall great product.
Excellent value for money
I went to a bra making class and the heat provided by this gun will allow me to securely heat seal the underwires I have to cut to size. These underwires stick into you if you don't seal them correctly. Yes, we will use this when we are renovating as well. I use coffee bean sacks and the heat from this gun will help me dry the jute fabric faster and allow me to paint on the fabric a lot faster and more cleanly now.
Doesn't even get hot enough to burn my hand. Clearly states 600c on Bunnings website and on box. The wife's hairdryer gets hotter than this Ozito heat gun. And yes, I've turned the heat adjustment to full. I don't reckon it even reaches 100c let alone the claimed 600c. Certainly not hot enough to remove paint. Might dry your hair ok though.
As a resin artist I put this heat gun to the test. Switch on and off multiple times over again in short bursts for hours at a time. Cord twisted and untwisted, heat up, heat down. Very rough with the switches and covered in resin and cleaned time and again. The same gun for two years. Just purchased 5 more for workshops. Love this heat fun. Highly recommend for price, features and reliability.
Felt like it started at zero and only went to 50 (NOT 600 as advertised).I brought to heat up and remove some thick edging on the side of a counter top and peel some paint etc, liked the idea of multi speed fan and temp for various jobs. Very disappointing results and had to return it.Tested all the heat and fan settings possible, even at maximum settings it felt worse than a low powered hair drier in fact after a losing a few hours with this I ended up going back to using an old clothes iron and hair dryer instead to remove the edging just to finish the job.Got so fed up I tested with piece of paper in a safe location. Stupid idea yes and I don't recommend you ever do this a proper heat gun is very dangerous. I went very slowly in the end my hand and the paper were only warm. If it was capable of a 600 degree output like the box claimed I would have burnt the paper to a crisp and given myself a serious burn. Instead my hand and the paper were only warm.Maybe it was faulty but there is no way that unit I tried would ever strip paint, or any other jobs I needed it for. I returned for refund after retelling the story above.
My professional painter friend was using one which he said he gives a hard thrashing as a paint pro. I needed one for doing odd jobs as well as for heatshrink. This tool is very flexible and has been very reliable and I recommend it. Great price was icing on the cake!
