Cuts structural pine well with a different ozito blade

The blade it comes with struggles cutting structural pine. There are 3 different type blades with various number of teeth you can buy separately. Get the one with the least amount of teeth and it will cut through structural timber like butter. The blade it comes with is mid range.

Great little saw for your power exchange batteries, BUT, like so many Ozito products, no testing was done prior to manufacture. The motor is on the wrong side, which is only great if you are left handed.Works better once you swap out the original blade which gets blunt within the first 10 feet of cutting any hardwood.Smaller 150mm blade, industry standard is 165mm, means you cant cut as deep and replacement choices are limited. Ozito had no replacement blades for this saw for first 6 months I owned this saw so I had to purchase a Ryobi 18tooth.Blade guard a safety issue as it quickly jams up with saw dust and wont spring back to cover the blade at the end of a cut.

Everything I expected
7 November 2024

I've had this 2 weeks now and done a few small jobs. So this is the smallest cordless circular saw in the Ozito range, it has a 48mm depth of cut. So it will cut your 4x2 (44mm). If you expect to build a house with it, keep dreaming. If you want a really handy light weight tool to do the occasional small jobs this is a great buy. Just don't overestimate what it is capable of and you'll be fine

Great Option
18 December 2020

I am right handed and appreciate the chippings being thrown out away from me. Sure you can get tools with the motor the other side but that's personal choice as much as anything (see many YT vids discussing if care). This one does the job and keeps doing it.It's a framing type option, not a fine work thing if there is such a thing in skill saw land anyway. For usual types of wood quick cutting, this comes out a fair bit. For very serious thin veneers use an expensive thin veneer blade on a dedicated table saw or you might get away with a lesser tool and a great blade if go easy and use painter's tape (at your own risk all of that). Any hard wood that needs a fine finish is more specialist anyway than the stock blades with just about any tool. For the money this ... MoreI am right handed and appreciate the chippings being thrown out away from me. I would need to borrow from son that larger one anyway, but this is just a simple fine option.................

Junk
3 October 2024

Junk. I have many other Ozito PXC tools that work great, but this is a piece of junk.Depth set does not stay put, makes the cut get deeper as you move along a cut. Very dangerous and have cut something underneath what I intended multiple times due to this fault.Blade size is also extremely uncommon.

Nice little saw but blade options may be limited
5 November 2024

I found this wee saw to be very good for the price, especially since I own a few Ozito 18v tools and have plenty of batteries. One thing to consider is that the 150mm blade size is pretty hard to come by, especially with the 10mm bore. Bunnings sell a finer 36 tooth blade for this but, as I needed more options, I ended up exchanging it for the more expensive 165mm model which I’m very happy with so far.

Price versus performance - winner!
15 October 2021

Good cheap little battery saw. Great for small cuts, decking timber or similar. Not ideal if you're wanting to tackle bigger jobs. But then its always a case of the right tool for the job. Dont expect power and performance of a bigger more expensive brand name and you wont be dissappointed. No complaints at all really for price / performance / value. I do however already own a few PXC tools and have a few batteries.

Very Happy
4 August 2022

I wanted a manageable size Circ Saw for small hobby DIY jobs and was very happy when I took this out of the box. It was a perfect size. I use mine mainly to cut Plywood and Pine and it cuts like butter. The angle cut works well but sometimes the guard wont move off the blade due to the angle but still workable. Would highly recommend. I had no confidence using a Circ saw - they freak me out a bit but after using this a couple of times I started looking for things to cut just for the heck of it - its addictive once you get going.

dreadful bit of kit
2 March 2022

Bought new to cut some ply sheet, blade wandered all over, discovered the spindle bearing had so much slop there was nearly 4mm of movement sideways at blade tips. Took it back thinking it was a faulty item, but the new items on the shelf were the same. Just crap, and dangerous - sloppy wandering blades can jam, kick back and severely injure the user. Bunnings swapped it for a bare skin 165mm which has a much better spindle, but werentl the least bit interested in the safety aspects of selling dangerous products. So good customer service for me, but a great danger to anyone doing any sort of plywood or thin material work.
