Love the tent, if you're interested in purchasing one I highly recommend getting the fly, especially if you plan on winter camping. Tent material and quality is high, and a great touring tent. If you plan on doing multiple weekends away have a good think as it's Harvey and takes up a lot of room. You may even need riif racks if you don't have a tube/Ute as it's quiet long. I've used this in hot sand, summer spring and in pouring rain. If you setup the tent right this this will keep you dry. Only downer is the bag, after the 10th use the bags straps snapped, for the coin OzTrail should offer a better bag. All in all highly recommend.

These RV tents are quickest and easiest tents to set up and take downThe only thing faster to set would be a throw down tent However a throw down usually involves wrestling match to fold up. Besides you can't stand up in a tube tent;I like to stand up to put my pants on and not have to slide and snake my way into my pants. Being a Solo camper I went for the RV3 as it allows you to store food and excess gear inside the tent couples might want to consider the RV4 or RV5. Remember when selecting the tent size for needs that all manufactures basically state how many people you can inside during an emergency so remember to go for a size that caters to at least one person more than you intend to camp inside.Back to the RV3 the biggest draw back to this tent is it's ...Ā MoreThese RV tents are quickest and easiest tents to set up and take downThe only thing faster to set would be a throw down tent However a throw down usually involves wrestling match to fold up. You will probably going to need a roof rack which is an added cost to the tent which isn't the cheapest. In my case I picked up a cheap roof rack tray by Rough Country from Auto Barnfor $250. I took my New Tent for test down to the hills behind Tamworth. Due to roadworks I arrived just on dusk. So I was incredibly thankful the speed I could put this tent up.Had I had my old dome tent I would have had to try and sleep in the car. there is no fighting to threat poles through the sides or fighting to get and keep tent poles into their base plates. the longest part of setting up camp was inflating the double high air mattress.Just after dark it belted down with rain for most of the night and the next morning.Which didn't bother me as I was snug as bug in my own portable log cabin well that's whatthis tent felt like to me. The only disappointment was that I noticed one of the struts inside the tent was slightly bent, whether it was like this or I have bent it from tiring it down too hard I don't know but it hasn't effected how study this tent is in rough weather. My only regret is that I didn't take the plunge years ago and get one of these tents sooner.Unless you're back packing or a family with small kids I wouldn't waste my time with swags or throw downs or dome tents. I've wasted thousands on different tents over the years.Bite the bullet save the pennies and get it right the first time. You get a sturdy long lasting tent that will last you years That is hassle free to set up and take down

We have been looking at this tent for a while now, had the swag, heavy, hard to get dressed in. And a tent that I used a few weeks ago in the Bendleby's, (awesome trip) which was so hard to erect. We bought this a couple of weeks ago from helpful ol mate at Snowy's, Craig. Very helpful guy. Anyway set it up in the carport, it was as easy as Ben in the video demonstrated. I don't know why people complain about the bag, easy to put in, although I reckon what would make it easier is 2 extra turnbuckle straps either end to supplement the middle one supplied to make it a bit tighter to get it in the bag. Testing it in Port Hughes in a few weeks. Love Snowy's!

Great tent. Sets up in 30 seconds like they suggest. It is built well but could have minor improvements. The awning could do with a solid bar along the end to assist in rolling it up as it is difficult as one person. It would also keep it rigid when set up.It is waterproof but that also means you do get condensation. I hear they are better for cold camping as the material insulates a lot better than the cheap tents. I look forward to some winter camping.Glad I bought it, as now we are motivated to go camping more.
So misleading.Yes they are good.I have two.But if your can hammer in the 50 pegs in 30 seconds your faster than me. You can't sleep in it after 30 seconds that's just rubbish and so misleading. You need to sort poles and all the guy ropes etc etc etc.Good for 2 people only no room for more. Can only stand one end the other your feet will hit with a stretched. Even if under 6 feet. They are Really small inside. If wanting a single person or two tent that a single person can put up these are good.If you want heaps more room but two people to put up. Look at the black wolf.Accessories are expensive from oztemt.Stretchers wobble with no bracing. But chairs and sleeping bags all good. When your by it. The oztent RV is NOT waterproof!! We purchased this tent to travel australia this year thinking we were doing the right thing purchasing a premium tent when instead we shouldāve purchased something from Kmart.Unfortunately for the first 6 weeks of our trip (Melbourne to Rockhampton) it just rained everyday. We dreaded sleeping each night because the corners pooled with water and the middle seam dripped water on us all night making the bedding and mattress wet (which never dried out between campsites).Oztent very kindly replaced the tent thinking that it mustnāt have been waterproofed at the factory however the same thing occurred with tent number two.Oztent then proceeded to advise us to purchase a fly, a floor mesh mat and a waterproof bag. Together these cost $500+.I can happily say that after purchasing these extras (particularly the fly) the tent is waterproof. However it is seriously disappointing that the tent is advertised as waterproof although itās not without at least purchasing the fly. Keep this in mind when purchasing your oztent!! The fly also adds an extra 7 guy ropes and 2 poles to the setup so the whole ā30 secondā thing goes out the window. This review is nothing against BCF.
Easy to set up. Iām only 5ā2ā and was able to set this up completely on my own (only needed a little help from a foot step for the fly addition for it).So quick to put up and pack away, and no fuss.Used it in winter, in gale force winds and it stood perfectly fine and kept the frost out. 100% recommend. Also fits a queen stretcher/mattress combo with a little room still to move which is perfect to what I wanted. However if you want a little more space around I would recommend going the RV-5.The only cons are the packed size and weight, but nothing I couldnāt manage myself or that roof racks canāt handle. One happy camper!
Purchased online and collected instore. Tent is quality and takes only 30 seconds to erect. To fully set up with guy ropes, poles etc is about 10 mins.Anyone looking for a family tent for 4 get an oztent rv5. Fits 1 x queen inflatable mate and 1 x single with ease. Will need roof racks as the tent bag is 2.1mtrs. Also get the extra poles and spreader bars like in the plus version, makes the tent so much more rigid. Only draw back to this tent is, its not very aerodynamic so it does get hit with the wind pretty hard and flaps around. It dosent go anywhere as the guys ropes do there job very well. Well worth the money spent.
Well we can honestly say we understand what the hype is all about ! Great quality and SUPER EASY to put and down ! My biggest pet peeve is trying to fit things back into their assigned carry bags ⦠itās never easy ! Least with this the carry bag has some give so no drama getting it back in too !We bought the RV 4 for two people and I can honestly say itās a perfect size. Enough room to move around and place a small bag or two of your change of clothes and shoes. The 3 would have been waaay too small for two people if you like to use the stretchers like we do - It perfectly fit our double sized stretchers - long ways so your feet (or head) at the entry. having then sideways would have been a climbing act over your partner and it just felt awkward. We are pretty ...Ā MoreWell we can honestly say we understand what the hype is all about ! Wanted a quality canvas tent with room & able to set up & pack up quickly.Tent is awesomeRocked up at 10.30pm & had it up in 30 sec in the dark.Pack up is also super easy & fast.Awning takes a few minutes but still easy & quick.Following recommendation from friend I also grabbed 2x 2.2 poles & 2x spreader poles for awning. This enables peak set of awning for more height & water run off. This was good advice.Plenty of room. There would be room for 4 though 4 adults would be tight. To consider: It is surprisingly long when packed up. Do need to be mindful of aluminium frame & they recommend put on flat surface when transporting (too long for our large Rhino rack & Yakima roof rack baskets)Highly recommend.
