Amazing camera for the money. And a lot of capabilities and functions for such a small compact camera.

It takes a bit of learning all the functions, but the versatility and capability of this camera is incredible. I started using my phone in 2015 for travel photography, then a few years ago i bought a simple point and shoot....and now, i am interested in learning photography. And this camera is just perfect to start understanding photography and the capabilities of it are quite impressive. I am very happy with the purchase and i am excited to keep learning photography. And one of the best parts, i can exchange lenses. The kit one is good, but you as you learn, you can get a better quality lens. Once you know the style of photography you want to specialize in, you can go crazy. It is awesome.

You could not pay me 5 times this camera's value to have to go through the experience of owning this camera again.

Excellent for photography, not just video, and a bargain.

It also uses the same OLED EVF as the G95D, which is excellent. (This is a BIG improvement over the EVF in the original G100, and makes this a very worthy upgrade over that version). It does not have IBIS, but since most of my lenses do, that is a non-issue for me. Once you get it set up to your liking, it's simple, intuitive and easy to work with. And, of course, the output is what counts. On that score, this camera does just beautifully. It gets colors right, even on complex flower photography. It is M43, so it's not going to be happy shooting black cats in coal mines, but it has just excellent output in normal shooting situations.I think Panasonic missed a chunk of their audience when they marketed this as primarily a video product. It's a great, simple, small, camera that is really fun to use and excellent for photography, especially if you are looking for something that's quite portable to take with you easily.

Excellent small camera
4 July 2024

I bought this very model about a year ago and it is my current favourite out of the five cameras I own. I wanted an interchangeable lens camera with a view finder since it is hard to use the screen-only models in bright sunlight. This was the perfect answer. Also I went to Panasonic since their lenses are manual zooms, and not motorised. The 4/3rds sensor is easily adequate for almost any situation (I have had everything in the past right up to Hasselblads), there has never been a situation where I needed a bigger sensor since owning this camera. All up it is very compact and very versatile.

Excellent street camera
16 May 2023

I was looking for a lightweight camera for travel and street photography but it needed to be an interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder. I did a lot of research and this model came out on top. The kit came with a zoom and prime lens, shoulder bag and two batteries. I have since added a telephoto. Took about a week to get used to as I also use a DSLR from another manufacturer. However, once mastered it has more features than my DSLR and it very easy to operate from the touch screen. MF on one of the lens needs to use the cursor keys but in practice this works fine and photos are pin sharp. I am very pleased with this product. The full manual (download) is very informative and really explains the product. I am not sure it will replace my DSLR for 'heavy lifting' ... MoreI was looking for a lightweight camera for travel and street photography but it needed to be an interchangeable lens camera with a viewfinder. Great little cam
20 September 2024

Before buying this, hearing a lot of bad reviews about this guy, but turn out it actually really great for hybrid camera, great photography and decent videography (recommend recording at 1080p rather than 4k due to huge crop). The UI is user-friendly! However, the lack of IBIS is a bit annoying because I can not buy other lenses that do not have OIS. Moreover, there is no weather-sealing, hence cant have peace of mind during humid environment.

Great little camera, don't listen to the M43 haters
4 December 2022

I think this camera has gotten a very unfair rap on with the camera review youtube community. Part of this may be due to Panasonic themselves positioning the camera incorrectly in the market. Part of it also is bias towards the "micro-four thirds is dead" sentiment. But after using the camera for about 9 months, here are my thoughts.Pros- super small and compact, esp for an interchangeable lens camera- really great out of the box images with automatic and scene modes- kit lens is sharp and optically stabilized- lots of fun modes to play around with, like slo mo, focus stacking, etc- focus tracking for video is much better than previous Lumix cameras- still photo focusing is very reliable and fast- in camera charging- built in flash- decent 360 mics- ... MoreI think this camera has gotten a very unfair rap on with the camera review youtube community. If you're just starting out, I think it's also a great choice as it's very easy to get good results without having to resort to edit RAW files or color grading video. The M43 lens selection is pretty amazing, esp if you hunt for used gear. I would say as a walk and talk vlogging camera, it works best at 1080p, with medium hybrid stabilization enabled. I wouldn't really use this for handheld 4K vlogging unless you were able to get the 9mm Leica lens (which is fantastic).

Panasonic Lumix G100 aimed at a narrow market!
14 November 2023

Lumix have a great reputation in the MFT camera market after years of making digital cameras for every market niche. However, I have to say that the G100 has been aimed at far too narrow a market. Marketing this camera mainly at vloggers does this model an injustice. Its very much a photographers camera as it has just about all of the firmware attributes of the larger (and heavier) G9. You can attach all MFT lenses to the G100 as well. A trifle small in large hands, nonetheless it is a great camera for say street photography with the right lens and will give the user great results whatever your shooting priority - stills or video! As can be seen from the photos I quite like B&W photography

20 May 2023

Good Points: This is my 3rd LUMIX in 8-years. I use them mostly during adventure holidays. I always have two cameras with me due to remote places and limited charge opportunity. Another excellent camera, robust and exceptional quality for the price. In fact I hardly used my old one as this battery life plus the additional battery was just great.Improvement Points: Unlike the past model, it doesn’t have a favourites button whilst I often used previously to make selection and deletion of shots quick and easy.

Small size but big with features
11 December 2023

I have had the camera for about a week and it really has given me some amazing looking photos and video. It is my first mirrorless camera and it has been a learning curve because it has a lot more features than my older dslr. I really like the 4K video The kit lens is a good starter lens and it is a very good lens. So far I am really pleased with my purchase because of the quality of the camera and the pictures/video results I have been getting with it and I have not used it to its full potential yet. I also like the size and light weight of the camera. It is small enough it will fit in my jacket pocket which is a big plus.
