Paperlike screenprotector iPad 10.2 inch (2019 / 2020) The Paperlike offers much more friction when using the Apple Pencil, giving you much more control over drawing lines the way you want. It even sounds like writing on paper! But more important is the resistance when writing. This gives you more control over your writing and drawing movements. Writing and drawing with the Apple Pencil thanks to Nanodots Other screen protectors destroy the tip of your Apple Pencil in no time. With its optimized Nanodots, Paperlike gives you maximum paper feel and minimal tip consumption. Every Paperlike has a little magic worked into the surface by default with the Nanodots technology. These microbeads are distributed throughout the screen protector and lightly vibrate your Apple Pencil so it feels like you're writing on paper. They are specially designed so that screen light shines around and through them to minimize refractions. So unlike other screen protectors, Paperlike will never spoil your view.

I bought this “screen protector” a couple months ago, because I heard great things on how it improves the iPad handwriting experience in a few YouTube videos. I will say that it definitely improves my experience and reduces hand-fatigue, etc! But it’s a TERRIBLE screen protector. I put my iPad in the fleece laptop compartment in my backpack, foolishly setting the face side to rest against my Mac. When I pulled out my iPad, I found an enormous scratch in the screen protector! Unfortunately, the scratches just keep coming, despite my best efforts to “baby” it. I’ve had the device for at least three years and never scratched the iPad screen itself, but I scratched the “screen protector” right away, with normal wear-and-tear? Seems unworthy of the title.

It's beautiful when applied and writing on my iPad feels so much better!

I love the look of it, it creates a mattifying effect on the iPad, and it does help me write far neater, and I feel like I have more control when writing. HOWEVER, the application is challenging. I recognize I'm not the best at applying screen protectors, but applying this thing to a 12.9-inch iPad Pro screen was horrific. I still have bubbles on it, and the first one scratched so badly when I tried to get them out with a plastic card that I'm too worried to attempt it on this second one. It sucks, even more, when you have to apply the second one when the first is ruined when they are so pricy. So I would repurchase it (in fact, I don't plan on ever using this iPad or any future iPads without this protector). Still, suppose you plan on using this in the long run. In that case, I'd suggest buying a nice applicator for it (like what they use in Apple stores, or even taking it into an Apple store near you for professional application- I live too far from one for this to be possible for me). I can't say anything about longevity. The first time I tried applying the screen, it did seem to scratch crazy easy when I was using a plastic credit card to smooth out the tiny bubbles (this is why I ended up having to use the second one). Hopefully, that was a bit of a fluke and does not continue to happen.

New paperlike is impressive!

I bought the first paperlike and hated it! The min I put it on I could see the screen got grainy. I received an email that a new improved paper like has released, I just had to try it. This one is amazing! I can barely see any grain and the whole screen looks like a regular iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen with a glass protector on. This whole review I have written with Apple Pencil 2 & it feels like writing on paper! The whole friction sound while writing makes it a very enjoyable experience. I just wish it wasn't so expensive. If you have an iPad Pro 12.9 5th gen totally recommend the new paperlike 2.1 On another note, I tried the second protector on my iPad mini 6th gen and the screen was super grainy. Perhaps the 2.1 doesn't work on the new mini? That was a bit ... MoreI bought the first paperlike and hated it! The min I put it on I could see the screen got grainy. Pros outweigh the cons

I bought this for the sole reason that I want my iPad to function more like paper. I applied the protector today (it took some patience to understand how to apply the screen but I have a background in science so I understand the importance of patience, trial-and-error, etc.) My immediate thought is that the iPad screen feels more granular (like sand paper). I started writing on it and the sound of the pencil sounded very different (much more like that chalky sound on paper). The thing that was difficult to figure out is if it actually works (meaning does it feel like paper). I feel that the emotions I experience when using a granular surface like Paper lyke is different compared to just the screen. So in short, I do think it works in that it enhances the writing experience, makes me want to write more, in fact. If this ends up lasting at least a few months, I think it justifies the cost. I am someone that will use my iPad for note-taking, so the feeling of paper is incredibly important. The iPad is nowhere near an experience with paper, but with these add-ons it improves the experience. So I say, you should try it out! I agree the price is not ideal for someone using iPad for consumeristic reasons. So, only buy it if you're serious about using it for note-taking.

The best out there

I think this screen protector is the best on the market, currently. After a semester of using it, I somehow have a small tear on the side and a small puncture, which is annoying. It's nice that the screen protector comes with 2 in a package, however, to be more inclusive of those who may not be able to afford two protectors on top of buying their iPad, pencil, and other accessories, it would be nice to sell one for a slightly higher price. (Just to give that option). In addition to that, I think it would be even better if Paperlike would create another screen protector that feels the same but protects against blue light-- for those who may be interested and for those who go to school and use it as a notebook, especially. This is the best accessory I’ve bought

First time buying this screen protector and the purpose was exactly why it was made -digital planning and procreate art creations. I also want to protect my investment while getting the best possible user experience out of my iPad. I honestly thought I was going to have to use both included screen protectors because I as prepared to mess up the first application. The instructions made it super easy and the result was no air bubbles or dust- with the first application! The feel of the screen protector is definitely a “matte-like” feel that feels comfortable to my fingertip and it has just the right amount of “grip and catch” when I apply my pencil that emulates an actual paper when writing on it. Perfect guys! I wish I had discovered this sooner, but better late than never! I also bought the digital planner and love it! I love taking time to decorate it make it my own. The “freebie” downloads such as the digital journal and extra brushes for my procreat app is a nice touch as well! Thank you! Look below for pics detailing my very first attempt! The video is a must before applying.

I believe that Paperlike has created a product that does exactly as it is expected to do. It protects the iPad's screen, requires little maintenance and allows a user to experience a matte finished screen. I tired to conjure a difference experience, that many youtubers, friends and colleagues have shared with me "it's like drawing on paper" but I suppose I wasn't so easily persuaded into believing that an iPad could be anything like drawing on paper. This is still true. Does Paperlike's screen protector reduce glare? Yes. Does Paperlike's screen protector allow full utilization of the iPad's user experience pass through the screen protector without issues in sensitivity, missed touches, strokes, points, lines etc? Yes. Overall, I'm happy that I use this screen ... MoreI believe that Paperlike has created a product that does exactly as it is expected to do. I don't hear the sounds that people claim come from using Paperlike's screen protector. It's a screen protector that protects a piece of technology that's worth a whole lot of money. Do I wish Paperlike made products that were not just for iPad...absolutely yes! If I had the option to put Paperlike on a wacom tablet that is attached to my workstation? I would. Would I attach it to my Surface book 2? Yes I would. Paperlike has been a good investment for my iPad. I hope in the future Paperlike will consider other brands screen's to protect in the future. Why? Installation was easy, packaging + shipping great, wear and tear, all great. Paperlike's screen protects your iPad screen exactly the way they claim it does.

I bought this over a year ago and wanted to do a long term review. I work in research and medical education and started using an iPad with pencil for both. Basically I had need of something that could allow me to annotate drawings and papers for research and to make videos and educational material. The glass surface, reflectance and fingerprint smudge on the iPad screen make this basically impossible for professional, ongoing work The Paperlike is well made; its lasted a year of robust use (5 days per week; about 2-5 hours use per day). The surface is as advertised - like paper. The friction is just right and actually makes using the iPad as a note-taking or annotating or drawing tablet a lot more feasible. I am surprised how little the image quality suffers - I bought a cheaper matte screen protector for my MacBook and the difference is really obvious. The Paperlike is clearly better designed and the image quality is preserved and brightness minimally affected by the layer on the screen. I would highly recommend this for university students who are using the iPad as a note keeping tool which is the usual use case I run into. And for people who use the tablet and pencil as a Wacom-type device with Sidecar or screen mirroring with their main laptop/PC. If you need to use the iPad as a workhorse drawing tablet of any kind I cannot see how that is possible with the iPad screen as it comes out of the box Finally I the service was professional and everything arrived as requested and rapidly after ordering from this site. I was not offered this as a test sample etc so have not been compensated or commissioned in any way for this review. Impressed. I would suggest they consider making a good quality matte screen protector for macbooks - I would buy it because the ones available on the market are rubbish by comparison to their excellent product. And I think there's a market out there for people who prefer a matte finish to their screens for reflectance and smudge issues

This is truly an amazing screen protector. I have owned 4 iPads of shapes and sizes, and I cannot go without this. I’ve tried so many others in the market, and none come anywhere near PaperLike. (WARNING…Stay away from any of the ones on Amazon, or sold through shady eastern markets. Made that mistake several times.) Any time I see someone writing on their bare glass iPad, I have them try writing on my iPad and they’re blown away. I so recommend it to everyone. I have also purchased this for friends and family.
