The purpose of the Paperlike screen protector is to make the screen feel a little more like writing on paper. I think that might realistically be impossible. I give the Paperlike a 4/5 for their attempt though. A couple of problems are inherent to this/any screen protector. First, Apple puts all of this effort to make a crisp clear high resolution image and much of that is lost with the haze of the protector. Second, after a week of use, I can see my hand writing embedded into the screen protector. It’s not entirely legible as you’re constantly writing over your previous page but in some lighting, it’s definitely noticeable when the screen is dark. I don’t notice it when I’m writing on a GoodNotes white page, which is the reason I bought the iPad in the first place. ... MoreThe purpose of the Paperlike screen protector is to make the screen feel a little more like writing on paper. Finally, I also bought the pencil sleeve/gripper and I think I must hold the pen awkwardly because I find them awkward to hold while writing. I’m still using it and have made some adjustments just because the pencil itself is pretty narrow and rolls around a table without it. That said, it’s a pretty expensive purchase for what you get.

Best Paper-like iPad Screen Cover, and I've tried to use several...

I’ve tried a few different iPad screen covers intending to provide “paper-like” qualities. This one is by far the best I've used. Some "paper-like" screen covers have a rough feel that is intended to provide “toothiness”, or friction, for the Apple Pencil or stylus. That "toothiness" is what simulates the feeling of writing on paper. When that "toothiness" is too much, it can be somewhat jarring when you use your finger on the iPad screen. Paperlike's cover doesn't do that. Instead, it provides a smooth feel when using your finger directly on the screen. That "toothiness" on other covers can also distort the light from pixels on the screen, which can be annoying. It sometimes looks like tiny specs of red, blue, and green on top of the normal screen image. ... MoreI’ve tried a few different iPad screen covers intending to provide “paper-like” qualities. Of all the matte covers I’ve used, this one is the best at not hindering my ability to still see the screen and enjoy the iPad's visual clarity. On top of all this, the Apple Pencil writes amazingly well on Paperlike. It really does feel like writing on paper. Just keep in mind you’ll need to replace the Paperlike cover and your Apple Pencil tip on a somewhat regular basis, depending on how much you use it. Artists will need to do so quite a bit. I use the Paperlike and my Apple Pencil to take notes more than anything else, so I probably won't need to replace the cover nearly as often as others.I definitely recommend this cover to anyone looking for a “paper-like” surface for your iPad.

Essential and cherished for generations

Excellent, incredible improvement in texture and feel of writing on a tablet. This is first thing I order for a new iPad. After multiple generations of both tablets and Paperlike protectors, it continues to be of the highest quality and amazingly have only improved with each iteration. In an earlier generation I was worried about the claims of “new and improved” and a clearer screen, but they’ve nailed it every time. They provide easy to follow, clear instructions for applying the screen protector, with assisting stickers to help keep it aligned. Works very well. Overall the application process can be a bit stressful if you live in a dusty environment. Good film quality. But disappointed with fitting problems

I cannot deny that the protectors feel and quality are good. However, the experience to fit it was horrible! I have wasted both protectors. I saw the guide video and followed the instructions, 2nd time exactly as the video guide, but dust was trapped in several places in both cases.Trying to remove the dust, apparently I bent too much the protector and due to the white of the bends, I went to the 2nd protector.I have fited a protector for my wife's iPad just after these, another brand, and clean on first try!?Something is clearly not well with this protector in terms of dust prevention...in fact, I was upset to see OUT of the video a "pro-tip" written down in the website, about using a humid shower environment to prevent dust...I read that late! Good, not the best

I bought a pack of Paperlike along with the Astropad version and a few different types of nibs searching for the best option for note taking. I’m not an artist, I just sometimes want to write instead of type and i need the resistance that Paperlike provides.Paperlike does its job, and does it well. It went on easily enough - although not without some bubbles - and provides a very nice feel both for the Pencil and your hand as it moves across the screen while writing. For me, it loses out to Astropad’s Rock, Paper, Pencil for two reasons:1. It doesn’t come off. I write occasionally. the rest of the time I use my iPad for the other things it does, including a lot of photo work. Astropad’s version comes off and on easily which is better for my usage.2. The tip of RPP is metal and very fine/accurate vs. the standard size (but highly textured) tip of Paperlike. I prefer the metal tip.Still a great product. If you want the drawing surface to be always on and you want a more “pencil” feel, this is the product. RPP feels more like a pen.

After getting an ipad to write for uni, my handwriting just wasn't like it was on paper so i went looking for a solution. With paperlike it does feel like paper to me and my handwriting is looking more like it used to on real paper. For me it is less the sound but more its resistance that makes it perfect. I have also improved my writing speed with the different feel. Also i have not made any encounters so far with smudges that are hard to clean. It still cleans up perfectly fine with a clean t-shirt just like the ipad itself. But I do have one negative point for all those who have their ipad as a general media comsumption device. I am lucky enough to have an old ipad to fall back on for watching tv in sunlight but if you don't have that you might want to reconsider.TLDR: feels like paper, writing is a treat but don't watch anything in sunlight

As my needs of changed overtime due to disability and having to take amounts to novels of notes from different doctors and organizations being able to write down, all of those notes in handwriting apps has made a difference a huge difference in me being able to access the information and quickly especially as one of the issues I’m struggling with is maintaining memory and getting confused. Having the surface of the iPad like I’m writing on a piece of paper keeps my handwriting, consistent, and allows me to Better keep up with the speed. The information is going to as I write it down. I no longer have to rely on random scraps of paper, several different physical notebooks and the backs of envelopes to document important details such as well let’s just say medical information information to be sent to various doctors reminders, etc.. I cannot thank them enough… I don’t know if they planned to have such an impact on peoples lives when they made this product, but I can tell you without any doubt that they have made an incredible difference in mine. I mention all of this because my needs overtime had changed from Predominantly creating artwork to writing almost exclusively. This product has been an amazing tool And helping me Achieve the best results that I am able to. Thank you so much, I cannot tell you that’s where it’s how much I have appreciated The impact you have had on my life.

You won't regret it

Honestly, I just had mine installed even if I received this paperlike a month ago. It took me awhile to convince myself to install it as my screen protector because I hated the first 2 because it affected the display so much. I initially had a glass screen protector + magnetic paperlike texture screen on top, but I told myself to try this since I have it already. It's my last year in university so why not give this one another chance(3rd time). Let me tell you, this did not disappoint. I was shocked to say that the paperlike team did an awesome job perfecting this screen protector. I have used and tried the first two versions of paperlike so I can definitely vouch for how great this one is. The display is amazing (compared to the other versions of paperlike I used in the past) and the feel of writing is perfect. I just hope this screen protector dont have the scratch marks that occurs after a couple months of writing on it. Other than that, the money is well worth it. 100% would recommend this for students and professionals.
