Disappointing quality for a very premium price tag

How much you enjoy this palette will depend on how much you already own from Pat McGrath. Is it worth full price? Absolutely not, but we all know that if you're patient you can get it 30-35% off later during one of her sales. If you picked up any palettes from the Love Collection this year, don't bother getting this. If you don't have a large collection, this has the potential to be a solid workhorse of a palette. You can get great everyday looks that are work appropriate but not boring. On the whole, the eyeshadows are very good quality, although the blitz crimson is weird. I think people will figure out a way to use it, but it won't be a great lid shade. Maybe as an eyeliner? I'm not sure. As someone else observed, however, the gold plate underneath is no longer metal, but a bevelled plastic that is laser engraved with the usual text. That doesn't seem to be specific to this palette. I also bought Divine Rose II at the same time, and it has the same plastic backing so maybe it's just the way they are now. Overall, it's a good palette, but don't pay full price for it.

Absolutely stunning palette! I thought it was going to be too pink at first but it's actually not! And I got several beautiful non pink nuetral looks as well as pink. So much more versatile than I thought to be. I love combining it with other PM palettes as well! The matte formula has continued to get better with each new release! The shimmers and duochromes are so beautiful! I can't wait for her next release! I am a longtime customer and have over 45 PM eyeshadow palettes and will continue to purchase!!! 🙏 But please give us some blues and greens in a mothership and bring back the baked shades !

*Pic for Astral Crimson Shade*Okay, I really wanted to love this palette, but there are definitely some flaws with it. Everyone was so upset that her once yearly palette would be ANOTHER pink, but I was still holding out hope, as I am a pink-girl at heart and it is the summer of Barbie. 3 out of 4 astral shades are gorgeous, but that crimson shade is a TOTAL DUD. It does not apply like her regular astral shades and is very patchy and messy. Not the right formulation at all. The mattes are okay but very overdone. I am very sad, because I really wanted this palette to tell all of the haters on the color story to “shove it”, but it simply does not do that. I am a very big Pat McGrath fan, but she let me down with this one. It's hard to say which Mothership palette is my favorite because they are all very well designed. The colors work well together as always. This is a Mothership that can be used for all occasions from work to going out with just the slightest touch. I have to admit this is the first palette that I have tried applying my makeup differently. The pictures and videos I have seen on instagram and facebook of makeup artists has shown me some alternative ways of not only applying the makeup but inspired me to try something new.

I’m most likely returning this palette which is sad as I collect the motherships (with the exception of the divine rose II and subliminal as it was sold out for a while) and there definitely is something different with the four main glitters, a lot more patchy and coarse feeling. I usually love the palettes but I feel like if you have most of her palettes you have all the shades that this palette offers. I was able to find near EXACT matches of the eyeshadows from this palette in previous motherships/holiday launches. With that being said I would save the money, because even with 20% discount I cannot justify keeping this if the other palettes I have contain the same shades. And I usually try to talk myself into keeping things.. but this is a hard no. I would look ... MoreI’m most likely returning this palette which is sad as I collect the motherships (with the exception of the divine rose II and subliminal as it was sold out for a while) and there definitely is something different with the four main glitters, a lot more patchy and coarse feeling. Not super obsessed

While I love pmg mothership palettes so much, I believe this could possibly be the first palette that I’m not entirely obsessed with. Here’s my breakdown or ranking of shades per each category.Special shadesBlitz Crimson Ecstasy is 4.5/10: beautiful color, however it is a bit lackluster and it just doesn’t have that special quality found in pmg’s other epic mothership palettes. Difficult to apply with a brush, a bit easier with the finger but kind of tricky.Astral Amethyst Allure 6/10: sparklier than Blitz Crimson Ecstasy, but it has a bit of a dull grayish undertone that might not necessarily be flattering on all skin tones. Kind of chalky ashy, pretty but just doesn’t have that pmg wow factor.Astral Pink Fetish 10/10: absolutely stunning and has that ... MoreWhile I love pmg mothership palettes so much, I believe this could possibly be the first palette that I’m not entirely obsessed with. I can see this color being very flattering across all skin tones.Astral Gilded Aura 10/10: the winner in the palette. Drop dead gorgeous, marvelously sparkly and easy to use shadow in the palette. Might not be as visible on camera, but in person it is so exquisite.MattesXtreme vermillion dusk 9/10 deep and easy to blend.Nude rose 9.5/10 lovely as a blush and transition shade. Easy pigmented yet buildable application.Sienna mystique 9.5/10 cute easy shade to wear.ShimmersSkintense Radiance 9/10 pretty, glad it’s there.Copper Dawn 8.5/10 pretty but a little dull. Not the exact quality I’m used to seeing from pmg.Hypnotic bronze 8.5/10 pretty but it could have a stronger presence.Overall palette rating 8.5/10. It’s a nice addition to my pmg collection. Not upset that it’s a pink palette, but more concerned that the quality isn’t quite up to par with the other pmg palettes. I feel like this could’ve been named divine rose III because this color story reads more as divine rose more than a sunlit moment. To me it’s a fall palette more than a summer moment. Sunlit could’ve been pumped up a bit more and maybe had some sort of sparkly blood orange gold

The quality is never an issue; however, the inspiration is lacking. If you don't own any other palettes and this speaks to you, it won't be a bad purchase. If you're a collector, this color story isn't unique enough to justify the price. Releases have all leaned too much into the pink family and feel so repetitive. I wish a strong nude or cool palette would be released. Maybe something that calls back to the very first Mothership I palette. I still use the neutrals in that one the absolute most. It's my best crease color and transition shade. A launch nailing that cool-neutral toned scheme would revive my interest in the brand. I've ended up not wanting to keep the last few releases and I'm a completioniest who loves having a full collection. Reboot the brand and give us a fresh, foundation, Ave neutral themed palette in this glorious formula we all love. Or something totally different than the pink vibes we keep getting over and over. Love the quality, just need to get out of this rut.

Palette is great. I am disturbed that pat is still using Taylor swift in ads when 70 days have gone by and she hasn’t condemned Hamas and has attended only one related event in support of Palestinians. Pat I love your makeup. I have 10 motherships. You don’t have to make a statement yourself but you do need to drop Taylor swift. She is not properly using her voice and 80 million followers. Thanks for listening to a devoted customer. I am not alone in my views! I’m just letting you know. ❤️

Omg I’m obsessed with this palette! There are mattes, shimmers, and duo chrome glitters. All the colors were ultra smooth, silky, and easy to blend. I recommended using your fingers for the shimmers and glitters for more concentration of the color. If you use a brush, wet it. You don’t need eyeshadow primer, but with it, the colors pop even more! The duo chrome glitters surprised me with how soft in texture they are bc I’m used to glitters being chunky with a lot of fall out. No, these have been ground to a super soft pressed silk. They go on with one swipe and shine all day long! I especially love the color Astral Pink Fetish!
