Another good pawn collection. I recommend searching / looking up the monsters inside before buying. For me I'm happy with it, the quality is good and I always would chose the english original pawn boxes! The german ones are like 1/2 thin and not so stable.

I can't give this boxed set enough praise. As a veteran of RPG gaming since original Dungeons and Dragons, this is by far the best introduction to a table-top RPG I have ever seen. The materials are designed so that a complete novice, who has never had a table-top RPG experience before can easily jump right in, with step-by-step, easy to follow introductions to the core rules. The value of what you get in this box for the price is simply unbeatable! High quality materials with stunning artwork! If you're thinking about getting into Pathfinder, or you're just curious about these types of games in general, don't hesitate to get this!

Finally a card board set of monsters from mythology! Well worth the money ($30) compared the using metal or plastic. Glad to see more sets coming into production. The scaling is perfect for the map packs/ flip maps produced by Piazo. It comes with plenty of plastic stands. Thick card stock like the DnD map box sets. Meaning they are very durable. Art work is fantastic and look very close to what I expected. My only complaint is the exotics, some of which I believe are exclusive to middle eastern (even biblical...) are not as well known to most players...obscure.

Most of the box was great; fantastic artwork, sturdy pawns, most of Bestiary 3 included. However, poor quality didn't catch the one we purchased which had a bad sheet. Not bad enough to return, and only a few pawns out of the box have the defect on them, but a strong indication that not enough attention was given during printing.
Out of the dozen pathfinder pawn assortments I have purchased, this is the only one I have regretted. Nearly the entirety of this selection of pawns are too obscure and random to be employed in any game I will run. It is doubtful that I will use more than 2-4% of this box. For example, there are creatures like "Naga, Lunar" that I can never imagine using. The artwork is great, it's simply the selection that I dislike. There are a few outstandingly great pawns like the "Desert Drake" and the "Oni" that will inevitably be employed in a session.
A great introductory RPG box. The contents are very high quality and it comes with a good amount of material. The rules set is a stripped down version of the big Core Rulebook but is perfectly playable on its own. The included dry erase poster map and character pawns are useful to help visualize combat and can even be used in other RPG games if you wanted to. My favorite part of the set are actually the premade character sheets that have a lot of good hints and directions on what you can actually do with your character and are really helpful for new players to understand how things operate.
After playing through this game (and liking it), I looked to take this game to new places and levels. Nope. Sorry, but this isn't Pathfinder. The "full"" game doesn't resemble this Beginner Box. Actually, the only thing they share is the name and artwork. I liked the BB because it's lean and fun. But to continue playing Pathfinder, I was faced with a bloated monster that had more die rolling and math than Role Play.
The minis themself are great. At worst youll have 2-4 that arent cut well and require your effort to extravt them without ripping the image. (These are printed on cardstock and perforated with black plastic stands/bases included. This set does have decent variety but seems to focus on japanese and hindu mythology with the included creatures. If youre making a first purchase i would recommend NPC or the first beast box. That is of course assuming youre not intending a far east campaign.
