I'm an efficient packer without cubes, but I decided to try using packing cubes for the first time for a 5-day trip abroad so I could fit all my gear inside my carry-on Peak Design 35L duffel bag. I bought a small and a medium, and I gotta say, I'm impressed!I rolled my clothes and fit more than I thought I could. The small size easily holds a week's worth of personals and socks with room to spare, and the medium cube fits 5 pairs of shorts, a pair of pants, a jumpsuit, 8 tops, and a bathing suit—then compresses!Speaking of, the cubes compress easily with minimal fighting from the zippers, which are nice, and the overall quality seems solid. They are a bit thin material-wise, but I think this is no different than other cubes so that they stay lightweight. Peak ... Peak tries to be environmentally friendly, too. There is a separate zip pocket on the opposite side for dirty clothes that I'm excited to try out. Mostly, I love the space the cubes save and the fact that everything is packed away in one place so that TSA and I don't have to scrounge around searching for things within my duffel. I'll likely pick up another one in the coming months. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think they are a bit on the pricey side. Otherwise, I highly recommend them. Happy traveling!

I really like the material, ability to expand, and look. The test away tabs are a really nice design feature, the only thing I don't like about it is there's no way to lock it closed so there's a small gap where the zippers don't quite meet up making it feel like it could open unintentionally. Also the handle on the back side isn't as sturdy as some other packing cubes I've used. Otherwise I'm really happy with the flat compression design.

We have been using these cubes for two back packing trips now and they are great for compressing our clothing down. The small is perfect for socks, underwear and shirts. It really does save on the room in your bag too. It has a separated zipped in the back that can be used to store dirty clothes throughout the trip too. I highly suggest using this if you are looking to squeeze in that extra shirt or if you are looking to save on space in the bag. The zipper quality is great and they have stood up to our trips thus far.

It's a packing cube, the same thing you can get from any number of vendors to help organize your travel apparel and things. But it comes from Peak Design, maker of fine camera oriented bags, and who seems to be now branching out into general purpose travel gear.At regular price, it seems a bit rich for my blood, but when I found it at a slight discount, I had to try one out because I know their other bags are posh and well thought out.So what do you get, the medium cube is exactly that, it won't hold a ton of stuff, but is a great size for weekend of travel.Neat trick 1: You can unzip the bag easily but just pulling on the pull tags, and it unzips itself in literally a second.Neat trick 2: expand the bag fully first by unzipping the expansion zipper, then pack ... If you don't understand what I mean: check the product promo videos.Neat trick 3: the bag has a flexible fabric divider between a front compartment and back compartment. when your clothes become dirty, put them into the back side of the bag. As the back compartment fills up, the front compartment has less clothes and the overall bag size is still the same. Your clean stuff stays separated. The fabric on this cube feels very light and is very flexible and supple, but made of strong 700D nylon. So it should hold up well. I expect no less from Peak Design so I'm hoping for many years of using this cube.I do feel I should deduct a star because this is expensive stuff. I cant ignore the fact that you could buy 2-3 of those competitor packing cubes for the same price.,
Yeah, this is one review I did not expect to make. What are you going to say about a packing cube? Well, this little product makes light travel more do able. It compress clothing to maximize bag space, allows sorting of clean and dirty, and is super well made. I guess the best way to say it is that I has been a long time since a piece of travel gear has given me this much delight. Both the quality and design exceeded my expectations. 5 stars easy.
This is the first time I have ever used a packing cubes & I loved it! I used one for each family member in order to keep each person's items organized. I used the compression feature for each one and I was quite surprised at how much we were able to fit in them. Each the girls had plenty of space left after packing outfits for 4 days (shorts, t-shirts, 2 cotton dresses, 1 or 2 jeans, undergarments). We wear women's S and L, just to give you an idea of the size of the clothing. My son's was the most challenging; he wears men's L, so his clothing is much bulkier. He packed 1 pair of jeans, 3 shorts, t-shirts/polo shirts, underwear. His packing cube was quite bulky, but managed to fit everything in there. Any Peak Design product is thoughtfully designed I've found. I had never traveled with packing cubes before this week. The people who say it changes the way you travel are right. In a good way. It "rips" open when you pull the tab and zips closed. And a bottom zipper is for the dirty clothes compartment. I appeciate the simplicity of this. I didn't need to use the expansion zipper, too, but I see how easily it would work.
I'm pretty sure that you're required by law as a one bag traveler to have a PD packing cube, so you may as well grab it while you're here. The material is super high quality, the zippers are great, and this thing holds a ton (the compression works great). Plus, it fits into most of the stylish bags that you're researching. Buy it, pack it, throw it into a backpack and be one of the cool people who skips baggage claim!
I've used a variety of things like clothes in the luggage and dirty in a plastic bag. Or two bags, etc. Other cubes are like...a single bag. As I was watching the Peak video I was telling the guy, But I need to separate clean and dirty clothes. Then he said, And there's two sides to separate clean and dirty clothes. I thought NFW! Jumped on B&H and ordered one. Not the sort of thing you get excited about ordering, but one of those things you're glad you have because you can stop thinking about it and just use it. My only issue is I can never remember which side I put which clothes on. The zippers/pockets are different, but I forget to pay attention when loading it. My bad though...
After seeing consistently high ratings for the Peak Design packing cubes, I had to try them out. Purchasing the larger one on sale, upon arrival I was immediately struck by 1) how much darker it was than in marketing photos (it DOES indeed fit the description of "charcoal" after all, not light grey or even sage grey as it appears in company images), and 2) how much more durable it feels. The compression zipper mechanism is high quality and easy to use; if you place your finger within the zip as you close it, you won't ever have a zipper jam, which is mentioned as having happened in another review. But for me, surprisingly the best feature is the ability to very quickly unzip the cube by the dual pull tags! It's smooth! It's fun! It's darn right addictive! The zipper ... The zipper pulls feel and look like heat shrunk paracord, and are thus very durable. Minimal branding and perfect stitching add to this list of features that blend seamlessly together into a truly excellent compression cube. While not as lightweight as my Osprey Ultralight or Eagle Creek Specter Compression packing cubes, the Peak Design cube compensates with apparently more durable (and even ever so slightly stretchy) material, and a sleek, modern appearance.
