At first smell while it was still in the bag, it only had a very very faint lavender scent and I thought it may have just been weakly scented. Once I put it to use for my cat and he actually used it a time or two, I realized instead of smelling like cat litter or cat urine and feces there was a delightful lavender scent that emitted from the litter box! It was a wonderful and welcome surprise and change from the usual stuff we'd been buying. The only fault I could possibly find with it was that I wish the crystals were more absorbent when it came to moisture. The wetness didn't seem to clump too easily for me to clean it after he used it and rather just kind of settled more into the bottom of the litterbox under the crystals. My cat at first was hesitant to use probably because he was just used to having FS litter but once he got in he done his thing I noticed immediately how this product covers up the smell of my little dude doing his business. I also noticed that its whole lot less messy on my floors when he gets out which was a serious problem i had with FS litter. Awful

I have been using this product for awhile and liked it, but the last 2 bags were awful. It is totally crushed and no longer holds in any moisture. It looked like someone had pulverized the normally small but "whole" pellets. Unless they do some serious quality control, I'll never purchase this again and do believe I should get my money back. I only have 1 cat and it normally lasts almost 4 weeks. This time I had to change it within 2 weeks as it was soaked and very smelly. I just bought your stainless steel tray, and tried it with the 2nd bag. I realize it has nothing to do with the tray, but thought I'd mention that it had no effect except now the tray won't absorb the odor as the plastic tray did.

Bad smell, Crystals are very hard to walk on to ME

I spend a small fortune on plug in auto deodorizers to avoid smelling my cats poop. When I used my ordinary deodorizer clay cat litter, I don't have this problem. My home smells great most of the time. I've smelled her poop 3 times over the past 7-8 days since she's been using Pet Safe's crystal cat litter, AND, I can feel the crystals on the floor when I walk and on the cat's mat, that helps cleans her paws and keeps the litter from tracking into the rest of the house. If these crystals are this hard on my feet, I can only imagine how hard they are on her paws. I'm going back to my Fresh Step deodorizer clay cat litter. It's been tried and proved to me for many years. I'm asking myself, why did I even try the crystals. Dusty and Unsanitary

I’ve given this litter a good shot having ordered it a few times. At first I liked it, but over time the dust is unreal. My cats have been sneezing and my older cat has had all kinds of funk near his eyes. I’ve had to have a vet look at him thinking he was sick, but it was just irritation from all the massive amounts of dust that pack in urine.The smell is the worst. It doesn’t keep in the scent of the litter box no matter what you do. The yellow granules of litter are disgusting. It’s just a ton of trapped urine. Those nasty crystals track everywhere. Seriously, I’m throwing out what I have left. It genuinely might make your cats sick and/or you sick. Changing out the box makes my sinuses go nuts and again the smell is AWFUL from all the urine it just collects.

I was told you can use non-clumping clay litter. I’m trying wood pellets at the moment and I put too many in so I did take them out, it has never really worked too good for me. I even bought a metal litter tray.like $50I’ve been using it now for a few months and it’s not what I expectedthe litter that comes with. It will probably outweigh the cost of what I cost I have the hooded one as well,, when I got it, I was in hospital for like a month and a half so I couldn’t return it because it was past the date. I wasn’t even here. My son had set it up. I called the manufacturers customer service and they were not very helpful if you can afford to buy one of those really good self cleaning litter boxes, then do it I think the litter will easily cost more for a year, for this scoop free one!I noticed the metal pusher is a bit rusty,The litter they recommend this tracked all over the place!

Preferred over pretty litter

I have and did recommend this item to my sister and mother both to which have 1 or multiple cats. This was a cheaper alternative to pretty litter and way better than your regular cat litter. We all like it better because it’s easier to clean up. We just use it in regular litter boxes and it works amazing. It’s not quite like sand like pretty litter. It’s a like bigger grains of sand or fine stones and that’s one of the reasons my mom loves it. It doesn’t have a chemical smell like other alternative brands I’ve tried. Still virtually weightless which makes it so much easier to handle. It has minimal dust but there still is some. How I dont know lol. Over all 9 out of 10. Used to be #1..

Used this litter for years after trying several, several, SEVERAL brands and kinds of litter. After much testing and many trials I concluded this PetSafe crystal litter was the overall best cat litter on the market with the best balance of odor control, tracking, and longevity. Then they changed the recipe or something. Now, after a week my house smells like cat pee. It tracks everywhere suddenly. It last 2 weeks before the smell is overwhelming and I have to do a box change. The dust is suddenly out of control, like most crystal litters normally are. They've massacred my favorite litter. This is a tragedy.
