With regards to 'Muddy Paw Shop': fast delivery w/ tracking, securely packaged (I appreciated the bubble wrapping :P), competitive pricing compared to other Australian retailers. Of course this will vary with the size/quanitity of the teeth being brushed, as both our cats are on the smaller side in general.I have opted to use my finger with the product as I find it easier and more effective at getting into the little crevices of our cats' mouths and rubbing it into each of their teeth. The granular residue is soft and not overly abrasive, and is easily washed off with soap and water.Both tubes are in the 'Rotisserie Chicken' flavour and have no strong discernible smell-- to my human nose at least...With that being said, I can't say either of our cats are particularly fond of the taste or general experience of having their teeth and gums brushed with toothpaste, but they both tolerate it (and adjusted to it very quickly) and it's very effective, so that's good enough for me.A solid 9/10 product that's VOHC approved and one of the best products on the market when it comes to dental hygiene for domestic cats (an avenue which is unfortunately often neglected despite the high prevalence of dental diseases in domestic cats).Highly recommend - 😺😺

Cats won't touch it

Neither of my (very food motivated) cats will even try this. Although I can hardly detect any smell at all, the smell is apparently very offputting to them; they sniff it on my finger and run away. I've not tried actually brushing, just offering it as if it were a treat. I was able to get one to consume some by covering it with Churu, but when she got to the toothpaste, just made a yuck face and left. I'm bummed, because they love chicken flavor-anything, but apparently not this! A waste!

Great Toothpaste

This is a great product if your dog isn’t a fan of regular brushing. Our pup has pretty bad gum issues and with regular toothpaste and a brush, it’s usually a two man job to hold her down and hold her mouth open to brush. It’s been hard to keep up with and we needed something better. We use this paste plus the swab sticks and now our pup sits calmly while we apply this to her teeth. It’s crazy the difference in her behavior and how much she doesn’t mind it. After 3-4 uses, I’ve immediately noticed the tartar buildup dissipate and get better for her and her breath is noticeably better too. Definitely will be ordering again.

IT WORKS!

What else does one need to know except that it REALLY works. I have been using Petsmile daily on my two Shepherds' teeth since they were eight weeks old. Their teeth are so clean that I have been stopped by other dog owners to ask me what I use to clean my dogs teeth. Their teeth are so clean that my vet has told me that there is no need to do a teeth cleaning under anesthesia (I was skeptical so I checked with a veterinary dentist who confirmed my vet's opinion). I will never stop using this product on my dogs.

Love the brush and the paste!

I purchased both the brush and the toothpaste. I was hesitant because of some of the reviews and my dog has a chicken allergy. I was delighted to find the paste is vegan and allergy free. Unfortunately, my small dog hates getting his teeth brushed but licks this paste off of the brush. I am highly sensitive to smells and this paste has a very little smell and the Vet said his teeth look great. (He is a very small dog prone to teeth issues). The bonus is that this paste is the only VOHC accepted toothpaste.

No dental visits for my dog

This toothpaste is amazing! My dog has NO, I repeat, NO tartar on her teeth. I brush her teeth everyday. She recently needed to have surgery to remove a lump and I asked my vet if she should have any dental work done while she's under anesthesia. NOPE. Her teeth need nothing done to them. I know so many people that have spent hundreds, maybe thousands on dental cleaning and pulling teeth. If you use this toothpaste you can save yourself so much money in the long run.

Rotisserie Urea

I am returning this. Let me explain why in detail. I use a lot of dog dental products and I research/evaluate the active and inactive ingredients and I observe if they work for my dogs. I ordered this particular brand because it has the VOHC seal (Veterinary Oral Health Council) which means that the Petsmile company provided data (I believe in house vs. third party) to prove that their product decreases plaque and/or tartar formation on dog/cat teeth over time relative to a control group.The active ingredient in this product (according to the Petsmile company) is a proprietary formulation they call "calprox" which I read from the label on the tube includes calcium peroxide and urea peroxide. My problem is with the urea peroxide. When I opened the tube I was floored by the awful urea smell. Maybe it is actually an ammonia smell from the breakdown of the urea. Regardless, it smells and tastes awful. I realized where I had smelled this strange smell before-- It is the same smell as permanent haircolor which has a sickening urea/ammonia smell. This toothpaste does not smell as strongly as hair coloring but those of us who color our hair won't be able to mistake it. I don't see an expiration date on the tube I received.In a nutshell, I expect a pet toothpaste labeled "Rotisserie Chicken" to at least strive to taste and smell like chicken vs. smelling like hair coloring. It is a fact that if you use an off-putting tasting paste with your dog or cat you will not be able to hit a successful, at-home, brushing stride.

Works well & my Mini Schnauzer loves it

This toothpaste works! My senior mini S had a full dental two years ago and I have been using Petsmile diligently every day ever since. Just this last year, she had her dental appointment again and she only had her teeth cleaned, no extractions needed this time around! Which also meant a much shorter time being under! This toothpaste has also been keeping build up away and her teeth nice and bright. Her breath is great too as a result.I have used water treatments and other brands of canine dental care products and gave up on those because they didn't work for my dog.Highly highly recommend Petsmile.

it's the only toothpaste accepted by VOHC

My two Rhodesian Ridgebacks love this stuff but they also love Virbac CET toothpaste in any flavor (which is the brand that I used to buy). The single reason I buy Petsmile now is because it's the ONLY pet toothpaste I can find that has been approved by the Veterinary Oral Health Council (VOHC) and every other dental supplement I buy for my girls (chews, powder supplements, dental gel) has VOHC approval which gives me the most confidence it's actually effective at controlling/reducing plaque and tartar. There are lots of products out there that are "dental" products but offer no evidence they actually work as claimed. All that being said: Petsmile is STUPID expensive, and it is shameful that they charge as much as they do for what they claim is a 4.2 oz tube.
