The Hue bridge is a neat, compact little gadget that can be purchased alongside other products from the Hue range. It is not necessarily required, as a number of the Hue products work without but if you are planning on having multiple bulbs, lamps or light strips, then this will make your life much simpler.The Hue bridge was very easy to install and get running. We found connection to the Hue app seamless. Integration with Google Home was a little more involved, as we had to add each light to a room individually (although it did find them all instantly). I would like to see Philips enhance this to a rechargeable battery and wifi set-up, so that it could be placed more conveniently in the home.Overall, it is good value for money. I would recommend that anyone looking to install a Hue system buys this from the outset. The Hub and the app allow you to easily control the various lighting and to create bespoke environments in different locations.

This Phillips Bridge is an essential bit of kit for the Phillips lighting. The bridge makes changing the lighting in the room easy and effortless. It is Bluetooth controlled and compatible with my Alexia (also works with Hay Google) which makes it voice activation which is perfect for when you can't reach the switch/phone.The Bridge plugs straight into the internet router and comes with the connections leads which a lot of other brands don't do. The packaging is compact and very appealing to buy. The instructions are easy to follow and quick and easy. I'm not usually good at these sort of things but was able to follow these and set it up on my own. The only down side is that the bridge has to be placed right next to my router as it is plugged in but by being plugged in it at least prevents any glitches.
