I've been using this machine daily now for a few weeks and have really been enjoying the consistency and quality of the drinks. The design built around the tried and true brew group is good all around. The LatteGo is easy to use and clean as is the drip and ground trays from the front of the machine. Being able to visually see the water level is a nice addition. I like the notifications on the screen of this machine and the clean options for the LatteGo and brew group. A clean cycle is run on startup and shutdown of the machine to keep the brew circuit clean. This seems like a good idea, but does consume extra water, maybe an ounce for each cycle and runs the pump. The bean hopper doesn't have much of a slant to it so the beans aren't pushed down towards the ... MoreI've been using this machine daily now for a few weeks and have really been enjoying the consistency and quality of the drinks. I've had to manually push the beans towards the front of the hopper. Also the coffee ground from the hopper ends up taking multiple drinks to clear this area instead of being ground directly to the brew unit in one go. It can multiple tries to notice changes after adjusting a grind, beans, etc. I feel these were design choices so the machine can fit under kitchen cabinets.Tips: You can purchase tablets for cleaning the brew group stale coffee oils and using the machine clean option for brew group to run through that clean cycle. After using the LatteGo empty out any milk in the container, place the LatteGo back on the machine and use the clean option to run hot water through the LatteGo and milk circuit to remove any remaining milk. Seems to take under a minute and is worth it to clean out the residual milk. Since I'm the only one using this machine I use the profiles for whole bean and ground coffee of the saved drink customization. Blue = beans, Green = ground so that it's quick to choose between ground coffee drinks using the bypass door and whole bean ground drinks. If you want to keep the machine under kitchen cabinets there are small round Teflon pads to use so the machine slides out easily on countertops.

I recently purchased a PHILLIPS 4300 Lattetogo Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino Machine. The cost was about 1/3 that of my prior Superautomatic. PHILLIPS has made significant advances in technology, yielding not only a more delicious cup of coffee, but also greater ease of use, and greater relative value. I have greater options available to customize my coffee drinks, less maintenance, and my PHILLIPS 4300 Lattetogo was much more affordable than my two prior Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino machines. Bottom line, I’m getting more delicious coffee flavor, with less effort, at a much lower cost. I offer my highest recommendation of the PHILLIPS Lattetogo line of Superautomatic Espresso/Cappuccino Machines.

Absolutely love it. I just need a quick latte - I don't want to drive 10 minutes, wait in line, spend $8. I just want an oat milk latte basically instantly. This has been awesome. I didn't want to have to take it apart every day or have a complex cleaning procedure - this is as simple as the nasty K cup machine at the office, but with actual good results. I didn't want a huge learning curve where I needed 50 hours of barista training to get a drink I'd enjoy. I watched the 10 minute youtube video during unboxing and set up and was ready to go that day. Total convenience, great lattes, and has been a game changer for my mornings. Would totally recommend this to anyone with my same needs or desires out of a machine. It's not a beloved ritual or hobby for me - the end ... MoreAbsolutely love it. I had been eyeing this machine for about 6 months. I've had the 4300 for just over 3 months and I love it. At first my daughter said she wouldn't use it, but we are both using it every day. It is so nice to be able to buy our own beans and not be forced into what is in a capsule. The heat up is very quick and with the push of a couple of buttons you have espresso drinks with no mess. I can make my drink and feed the cats at the same time. We are enjoying the fact that it has 3 user settings. It says 2, but "guest" really makes it 3. You can't beat the price compared to other brands. The main reason I went with the 4300, and not a lower model, is the different users and the ability to make just steamed milk. I will use that feature more in the winter. You can't beat the Philips machines for ease of cleaning of the milk container. I have put them in the dishwasher with no issues. They are also very easy to wash by hand.
We originally had a Phillips Saeco semi automatic coffee machine. We just needed to froth our own milk. To be honest, I prefer that and if I had to choose again, I would go with the model that you do that yourself. However, that certainly doesn’t detach away from how great this machine is.I love the profiles and the fact I can literally press 2 buttons, walk away and come back to my selected coffee. As with all new machines, the first few coffees ended up being poured down the sink, but we finally found our happy medium and I’m pretty satisfied. The only thing that we wish you could control is the amount of milk froth. I love froth coffees but hubby isn’t a fan and so we lose half his coffee by scooping the froth off the top. I love froth coffees but hubby isn’t a fan and so we lose half his coffee by scooping the froth off the top. You should be able to select a flat white setting so you only have the warm milk or atleast select from milk froth or just milk in the other drinks selection. The milk compartment is super easy to clean but there is a small little lip at the spout where milk gets built up and stuck. I am able to clean it with a toothpick but perhaps make that whole section seamless without added areas where milk can get in and fester. The water container is large so it’s not having to be filled every second day which is great and after having our old machine for so long, I’m always impressed by the shape of the coffee in the grounds tray. The one issue that I did read elsewhere is sometimes the button to turn it on is extremely sensitive and you may have to find the “right spot” for it to actually turn on. It can sometimes take a while. You shouldn’t have to do that. You should be able to just turn it on. It isn’t a daily thing but it is rather frustrating.
I do not regret the purchase,but...I'll mention a few minor issues that the reviews don't:1. It uses a LOT of water; the rinse function automatically activates each time you turn it on and each time you turn it off.a. The unit will not continue until you refill the water reservoir. This happens sometimes when the container is over half full.2. Even if you put a cup under the spout and catch the rinse water you will still have to empty the drip tray often. According to SCG's support (which is 5 star) this is normal; Apparently there is internal cleaning going on behind the curtain.3. To activate the clean function that you use after every use of the creamer carafe requires 4 button presses. It does what it says it will - fully automatic and makes many different drinks; stores 3 profiles for partner and a guest. Amount of coffee dispensed per puck is smaller than what I am used to so double shot becomes triple shot. Love the milk carafe attatchment but when you "clean" it via machine, unless you move the drip tray out slightly or put in another cup, the water/milk splashes and isn't caught totally in drain area. Could stand to have one more temp hotter - you get three settings; I sometimes add a bit of hot water to alleviate this. Grinder easy to adjust and works like a pro. Water container could be bigger but...how big a footprint do you want overall? Makes noise but fairly quite compared to past machines I have owned. Love the auto shut off ... MoreIt does what it says it will - fully automatic and makes many different drinks; stores 3 profiles for partner and a guest. Love the auto shut off feature...sleeps and then turns off after so many minutes. Adjustable coffe spout now means I can use many cups I couldn't previously. Overall, it is a very good machine I think although early days (two weeks). Easy to clean and no more coffee on counter. Check your height as it is fairly tall. Makes very good coffee and my four stars may be a bit low. Packaging was amazing with no chance of damage.
I initially wanted the Philips 5400 Series for its coffee travel-mug setting but it appears to be a discontinued model. Reviews and coffee video channels liked them and the orientation of their water tank and height matched what I needed. It wasn't the cheapest but the 4300 had the nice screen rather than a series of buttons on the lower models.Packaging was good and setup was relatively straightforward. The first cup of coffee wasn't coffee. Here's the rub. This machine takes a while to bed-in and only after 10 - 20 cups did I get what I would would describe as a coffee comparable to my spinny-pod machine. And this is not pod-machine simple. You have to experiment with all the various settings to get what you like. But this is why this machine it so good. You're not getting what a pod maker thinks is the coffee you'll like with not adjustment - you get the coffee you actually want. But it does take time and you have to stick with it. After 130 cups and using beans from a high street coffee chain I'm there and glad I made the change. As for the lack of coffee travel-mug setting, I just select the X2 setting and 400ml of tasty freshly ground coffee goes into my travel-mug.Weekly cleaning is straightforward. Although the water tank is the same size as my old pod machine, it does need refilling more often because the machine rinses when first switched on and again when it switches off. The Aquaclean filter also takes up room in the tank. But I do like the fact the filter reduces the need for descaling and there is a countdown to tell you when the filter needs changing. Only after using 8 filters do you need to descale.Overall it's giving me the coffee I love, quickly, cheaply and with style. A good investment which will pay for itself over the next year or two given the amount I was spending on all of those aluminium pods.
I started with a different super automatic about 15 years ago. It was a similar concept, a little cheaper than this one, but also much less capable. I have since tried an expensive espresso machine along with expensive grinder, but never could consistently "dial-in". I then moved on to Nespresso which may be a short-cut and costly over time, but still remains one of my favorite cups of coffee. But I was missing the "bean" experience of smelling the ground beans and tasting coffee made directly from them, so I gave this a shot. It has the convenience of Nespresso and fills that "bean" gap. The "Latte2go" feature, for me, has worked perfectly and produces outstanding milk-based coffee drinks. I presently switch between light roast and dark roast beans, and the flavors ... MoreI started with a different super automatic about 15 years ago. I now alternate between my Nespresso and this coffeemaker to get nice but different versions of my only remaining vice :)
I am familiar with these machines for the last 10 years; having one in each home in Europe and Asia. None have them broken so far; all use the same (ceramic) grinders (Saeco, origin Italy) with the exception of progressive controls and electronics (Philips, origin the Netherlands). The design of the water containers and drip tray have changed over the years, but only for the better. LatteGo also uses a simpler-to-use and clean milk system.I believe the machine is one of the most compact in its class. Important in case your kitchen isn't that large (maybe not a problem in Canada but for sure it can be in Europe)This is the first machine bought in Canada. The machine comes at a price premium compared to Europe, but Consiglio's offers (one of) the most competitive prices.I've used the machine now for about 6 weeks, and it behaves as expected: very simple to use, very good quality cup of coffee for home consumption (I use Lavazza Oro) and cleaning is simpler than the previous versions; so no complaints.I can recommend this machine to anybody looking for good home coffee. Personally, I do not need the user profiles offered by the 5400 series hence I decided on the 'smaller' version 4300. I also believe that these machines offer one of the best price-quality points for full automatics.
