I have very stubborn thick hair on my legs to the extent that in the summer if I’m going out in the evening or on holiday I have to shave morning and evening to feel nice and smooth. I had some laser treatment several years ago at a salon but gave up as it was painful but after a recent recommendation I bought this and I’m so pleased.I’ve used it four times and my leg and bikini line hair have already stopped growing back in places and those that have come through are thinner and softer instead of thick bristles and no spots or I growing hair around my bikini line. My husband’s even asked what happened to my legs as they’re so soft! Am going to continue until they’ve gone and then lend to family and friends who I’ve been telling about it. Amazing!

Finally made the decision to purchase the Lumea when on a special advantage card offer with Boots and consider it a long term investment.Started off with a low intensity to see how it affected my skin. I’d been looking at purchasing this for a while. I got this on offer in boots down to £230.I have Indian skin and suffer from PCOS. I was very skeptical whether this was going to work or not. I followed the treatment guide and after 3 treatments the hair growth has practically stopped. Yes, it is time consuming but if you had to remove hair regularly like I did then you would do whatever it takes.Over the weeks I’d notice a few strays that were easy to treat.Overall I am in love with this product. It has given me my confidence back. I would really struggle with the coarse hairs on my chin/jaw before, but no more. Everything is so smooth to touch. Well done Phillips.

What is a bit of an issue when it comes to size is the plug – which might be a little problematic when trying to connect the device to a smaller socket.User experience: I appreciate the fact that apart from a function for automatic strength adjustment it is also possible to manually set the strength of the impulses (from 1 to 5). This allows for lowering of the intensity for more sensitive regions (if the device suggests a certain value) or scaling it up in case we are sure that it is safe for us. During the first use I have followed the device’s tip and went for 4, but during the second treatment I have increased the strength to 5 for most of the parts that I have been using it, but lowering it to 3 for the delicate skin. The treatment went quite fast, painless (compared with an epilator, which I have tried in the past but dropped due to the pain) and effective.Results: As mentioned earlier – I could see the results already after the second use. The few hairs on my stomach disappeared after the first use. After the second use, depending on the place, the results were more (or less) visible. This means that the hair grew slower and seemed weaker. After the second use I have noticed that when the hair grew back I did not feel the itching. I have decided to test the IPL on one leg and only shave the other one (see pictures). This allowed me to see the results easier.Summary: I am satisfied with the Lumea Prestige BRI945 and would definitely recommend it. I have had quite fast growing hair and have been usually shaving it, however, it would grow back very fast. It seems that this IPL makes a difference (I have previously tried a different, cheaper IPL which gave not as good/quick results). I have already told some of my friend about its benefits and recommended this method of hair removal.

You can do this by pressing the trigger to zap, then repositioning to the next area, and zapping again. In the case of larger areas like legs, you can keep your finger on the trigger and just move the head over your legs.Is it painful ?– yes and no. On my legs and arms I feel zero pain. On my legs, a couple of zings that people have likened to having an elastic band snapping on you. I didn’t find it that bad…on my legs. But on face a bit especially around lips area as it is very sensitive area.Before you use You have to remove all the hair from the area you zap before you do it. If you don’t, it’s not only less effective, you’re going to smell a lot of singed hair. When I first started out, the advice was to shave, which I hate because it causes horrific ingrown hairs but i started trimming the areas as It doesn’t give you ingrown .Overall, it is a pretty significant win, for better results i need to use more as up til now i had use it twice so there is definitely more work to be done.It’s easy to see this as a downside – the regular maintenance – but at the same time, it’s a huge plus having the machine already there and paid for and ready to go. I’d have been much more furious if I’d skipped the maintenance on a £3k treatment and started to see the hairs regrow with force.This is my review on Philips Lumea and according to my experience i will recommend this product for cheap, easy and convenient use.

Omg i was so excited when the postman delivered and i realized i was chosen.I couldn't believe that I got chosen to review the lumea. I tested it straight away. I would definitely recommend buying the lumea prestige as it is so easy to use. You plug it in and you are ready to go. It is so fast and you don't have to wait in-between the flashes . I did my full face in about 5 min, which is absolutely brilliant. It has 5 settings . I would recommend starting at 1 and building your way up to what heat your skin can take. I have used it for the last 3 weeks and i can definitely see a difference in the hair growth. I have dark skin and this ipl works perfectly fine on my skin tone.
