So far I'm really liking this controller. I had a DDJSR and then a RaneOne for the last few years. While I enjoyed using the RANE One I prefer the layout and FX of the Rev 7. Still giving it a test drive however it feels good to be back with Pioneer. Giving it 4 stars because I have only been using it for a little over a week.

I have had many controllers in the past, this is the best one for me by far! Most recently coming from a Pioneer DDJ 1000SRT and a DDJ Rev 5. With the new Rev 7 firmware and Serato updates, the Rev 7 essentially does everything the Rev 5 does and more, and offers a lot more in hardware capabilities and functionality! The pads, fx levers, faders, and buttons all feel so much better and more solid than on the Rev 5.There is definitely an adjustment to the spinning platters coming from so many years on static jog wheels, and no Cue button, but it's so much more fun and you can quickly get used to it.The package deal is absolutely amazing! I use the Rev7 for quick mixtape production aside from using my vinyl turntable set-up. The motorized platters feel just like vinyl turntables. The battle style layout, the sound card, and the gold finish makes this purchase 100% official. I would definitely recommend the Pioneer Rev7 to those DJ's that want to keep to the authentic vinyl roots.

Bought this deck brand new when it first came out - unfortunately it was faulty from the start. It was my first expensive DJ purchase and it was really really disappointing. Aside from being faulty and nearly unusable; the decks themselves are very heavy, which would make it difficult for travelling + set up at gigs. The motorised jog-wheels are a cool feature, and the onboard effects are pretty cool & convenient to use. But overall for the (non sale) price in my opinion it's definitely not worth it. There are much better and significantly cheaper options out there. Do your research! :)
I bought one of these last year to replace my Tractor S2 which had a failing crossfader. My S2 ran great for years and was used quite a bit. I should have learned from that when it was time to replace it.When the DDJ-400 works, it works pretty well. The layout isn't bad, but the software is absolute garbage. When Rekordbox has an update, it will download and apply. However, it won't remove the old version when it tries. It always fails, like it's not even trying.Automatic BPM detection is also fairly terrible. It's almost never correct, whereas my S2 never seemed to have that problem. This makes beatmatching a lot more difficult if you're trying to base it on the BPM readout from the software. My computer does, but the software made by other device maker doesn't.Again, I never had any of these issues with Traktor, and that's likely what I'll be replacing this piece of garbage with.

I really expected an SP-404 with a touch-screen but I was blown away by the DJS-1000.Firstly, the sampling, the sequencing and the timestretching are done in realtime. It's designed for DJs in a live performance and because of that, things must be in realtime and easy accessible. Now hook this baby up in a studio environment and you got one fast production tool. I hate that the USB stick sticks out of the device, wished it had an SD slot instead. Also no song arrangement, so manually you have to trigger your scenes and patterns in your desired order.Other than that, it's a bad mamajamma machine and if you can get over the fact that it is a DJ sampler, you'll be in for a real treat that will take you places you never thought existed.
There is not much to say about this controller other than Pioneer DJ nailed it! As a vinyl DJ on turntables for over 35 years, this is the closest I've come across to using traditional vinyl on a portable controller. Coupled with the great mixer section, there is not much (if anything) that I would change. Definitely worth the buy.Also... the $100 upgrade with the flight case is a no-brainer. The case is built like a tank. Honestly, it may even be too large and robust. Unless you're going to use it for frequent gigging.
Overall:I haven't touched a DJ Controller / Mixer in over 10 years. The last DJ Controller I purchased and used was the launch of NS 7 from Numark. Admittedly, I lot has changed since the launched of that DJ Controller when it comes to DJ Controller features, etc. I absolutely love this controller.
This is the first controller I've ever gotten. I used to spin with vinyl and cdjs later. Now that I'm doing more open format and started using a laptop I decided to get a controller. I don't like controllers because to me they don't look professional but this controller changed my mind.
I have had a few controller but always lacked the feel of vinyl. This controller gives me that feeling but is light(lighter than 1200's). I would rather bring this to a gig than bringing my bulky set up. This is so fun to play with you will not regret the purchase. The efx also are so much better with Smooth Echo and now with serato Stems you can dedicate some of the buttons to open more creativity.
