I am using this at home to learn DJing, and it's perfect for that, it has enough buttons and switches so you can learn how to DJ. The tempo bars are a little small, but not too small, the buttons for hot cues are also a bit small, but that doesn't affect their responsiveness. Overall, this is a very good controller. The jog wheels are super responsive, and there doesn't seem to be any lag, the weight of the wheels is perfect. They're also larger than other 'entry level' dj controllers. The controller is adjustable in the firmware, with a special setup mode to change aspects of how it works. The effects paddles are an excellent feature, and I don't know how they can get away charging so little for so much! You don't get rekordbox or serato pro (you do get serato lite) w/ it but it works with other software that supports midi mapping. 3 band eq, filters, trim for both channels - vinyl mode and a mic input that adds to the audio stream means it's great for streaming DJs (mic level should be a twisty on the top). Overall, if you don't already have a dj controller, this is the one you get.

If you want to get into djing this controller is the right one. I am a experienced dj with over 30 years experience and i currently use the pioneer rev7 controller and its amazing but needed a back up controller and something for smaller gigs so i got the rev1. Its doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the rev7 but its a great starter controller. This controller has tonz of features to use and comes with serato lite but i recommend you upgrade to serato dj as you will have better features. I also recommend you use a macbook as the speed will be much better. Pioneer dj controller's are the best out there so if you are starting out and wanting to learn to scratch then this is a good starting controller. I have been a DJ since the late 80s, but only just got in to controller-DJing after a significant break. I bought the REV-1 as my dabble in to this style, and was not disappointed. The controller is much more like "proper" vinyl DJing feel than I was expecting, the Serato software gives a ton of tools to use, and once set up they are easily accessible from the controller. The battle-style layout fits my way of working, as I used to use my 1200s in the same orientation, so feels familiar. It is light weight, but that is not a negative, it is easily portable but robust enough to stay in place when working.I cannot say enough good things about this controller.

This is two first for me....my first time shopping with idjnow and purchasing a pioneer controller and both was a great experience. I have been working with the DDJ-Rev1 for about a month now and it has yet to disappoint. Out of all the controllers I have used as a beginner dj this by far has been the best and easiest one. Im definitely hooked on both pioneer and idjnow.
This controller is perfect to learn scratching and for smaller gigs. Love the buttons layout. Purchased it with the bag, great offer. Fast shipping.
I mostly use this for the house when I'm djing online but I honestly admit this controller is one of the best one out there. I'm definitely love the feeling and the layout of this controller. I teach a dj class in various schools this is definitely a great controller to learn and practice on.
Great value for the money - the effects paddles are a great touch, especially coming from an S9, and the jog wheels actually cut really nicely for a tiny bus-powered controller.
I love my new dj equipment. It's awesome even though I'm just learning to use it but I'm learning a lot of new things that I didn't know about mixing music. It's a fun hobbyists for me.
Great product only bought it due to my bigger control not making it in time for my gig but Sam Ash got it to me in a couple days. I'm thankful for that
great little controller. don't need anything too fancy. lots of fun and will be using it on gigs moving forward.
