I am using this at home to learn DJing, and it's perfect for that, it has enough buttons and switches so you can learn how to DJ. The tempo bars are a little small, but not too small, the buttons for hot cues are also a bit small, but that doesn't affect their responsiveness. Overall, this is a very good controller. The jog wheels are super responsive, and there doesn't seem to be any lag, the weight of the wheels is perfect. They're also larger than other 'entry level' dj controllers. The controller is adjustable in the firmware, with a special setup mode to change aspects of how it works. The effects paddles are an excellent feature, and I don't know how they can get away charging so little for so much! You don't get rekordbox or serato pro (you do get serato lite) w/ it but it works with other software that supports midi mapping. 3 band eq, filters, trim for both channels - vinyl mode and a mic input that adds to the audio stream means it's great for streaming DJs (mic level should be a twisty on the top). Overall, if you don't already have a dj controller, this is the one you get.

This is perfect for first-time mixers or even someone who's been in the game for a while and wants to upgrade. It has many features, like a battle - style setup, bigger jog wheels, Lever FX and Tracking Scratch. It's easy to get in the flow with this one-plus, the color scheme is awesome.

This Pioneer DJ DDJ-REV1 is a brilliant, high-quality product! I'm just starting out my DJ career and researched a lot in to which controller would be best to learn and improve with. This is especially designed to work with Serato DJ software (Lite or Pro), so if you're using that software and looking for a DJ controller to start with, you won't go wrong with this one. 😊Overall some quick points I will mention:- Great price- Great product for use with Serato DJ software- For the beginners, don't be fooled by the term 'battle controller' as it works like any other DJ controller!- Brilliant service and fast delivery

As a former scratch DJ getting back into practice scratching again this was wayyy beyond my expectations. I can pretty much do most things I did on turntables and more. Fader is REALLY good for a budget controller
If you want to get into djing this controller is the right one. I am a experienced dj with over 30 years experience and i currently use the pioneer rev7 controller and its amazing but needed a back up controller and something for smaller gigs so i got the rev1. Its doesn't have all the bells and whistles as the rev7 but its a great starter controller. This controller has tonz of features to use and comes with serato lite but i recommend you upgrade to serato dj as you will have better features. I also recommend you use a macbook as the speed will be much better. Pioneer dj controller's are the best out there so if you are starting out and wanting to learn to scratch then this is a good starting controller. I have been a DJ since the late 80s, but only just got in to controller-DJing after a significant break. I bought the REV-1 as my dabble in to this style, and was not disappointed. The controller is much more like "proper" vinyl DJing feel than I was expecting, the Serato software gives a ton of tools to use, and once set up they are easily accessible from the controller. The battle-style layout fits my way of working, as I used to use my 1200s in the same orientation, so feels familiar. It is light weight, but that is not a negative, it is easily portable but robust enough to stay in place when working.I cannot say enough good things about this controller.
I was a bit skeptical at first, but needed a player on budget. Though the build feels somewhat light and plasticky, the Rev 1 did not fail to deliver functionality and feature. The set up and layout are decent and match its size. Very well balanced faders and jog wheels. The knobs are sturdy and feel dependable. The pads are not as large as one would like, but feel really good to touch. Would have been really nice to have XLR out, but at this price point, thats maybe asking a bit much.
If you're using Serato (either Lite or Pro), and want a quality piece of hardware that doesn't cost a thousand dollars, this is a great option. What I love about it is that you can use 4 decks, everything is in intuitive places, and overall the hardware feels very sturdy. It's also nice that it is USB powered...no additional wall wart. With a more expensive piece of hardware you'd probably look for independent controls for each of the 4 decks whereas this controller combines the mixer controls for 1&3 and 2&4, which is a little counter-intuitive. I've noticed the occasional software glitch once in a while that will prevent use of decks 3&4... but it doesn't happen often and seems like the sort of thing that a software update will eventually resolve (if it happens to ... MoreIf you're using Serato (either Lite or Pro), and want a quality piece of hardware that doesn't cost a thousand dollars, this is a great option. I purchased the Pioneer DDJ REV-1 because I think it's a good starting point for beginner DJ in the digital DJ world. The unit is very light and may seem cheap but don't let that fool you. The knobs and buttons on this unit is good. It's got the simple controls and connections to get you started with along some effects and filters. The unit is set up as a battler DJ set instead of a Club DJ set up. It's convenient to bring and DJ at your friends house party or a college party. If you're looking into doing some DJing or have been a DJ in the past but not in the digital world then I suggest The Pioneer DDJ REV-1 is the hardware to get.
Great product. Been Djing with vinyl for a while but wanted to start using a controller for fun. This is the way to go. Light and easy to use, very happy with my purchase. Good price and fast shipping really sealed the deal.
