I ride a 2018 Harley Davidson Road Glide Special (FLTRXS), that is FAR from stock! And I've put on well over 1,000 miles on my Pirelli Night Dragon tires (both front and rear), in the rain, in an INSANE hailstorm, on dry pavement, gravel roads, pretty much every riding condition! And I will say this... I'M NEVER GONNA RUN ANYTHING ELSE, EVER AGAIN! They hold on to the road like a fat kid that just escaped "Fat Camp" holds on to cupcake!

This is my second set of these on my Dyna. They last long, handle really good. My bike has 2" longer rear shocks for more lean angle and when I ride hard in the hills, I will occasionally scrape the frame and primary on the left, and the pipe on the right. The tires always feel awesome. I have cast wheels and the tires where so close on my balancer, I did not add weight. And, the name is badass. I don't ride much in the rain and when I do I baby my throttle like its's a 50cc Vespa. so not sure about wet traction.

Wow, so to give you an idea on my riding I have three Street legal bikes.. this year i put 32000 miles on them 12000 of which where on my 22 street bob.. these are some of the best tires I've ever had on a Harley over the years of riding iv had four Harleys.. Pirelli is one of my favorite manufacturers i use them on my track bikes and my semi street legal R1. Makes the stock rubber bands that they put on from factory look like toys. These ride smooth and give you all the confidence in the world. I put these on front and rear. The preference these provide in wet and rain conditions is outstanding.

Good looking tire but performance is sub par. I went from the michelin commander 3 cruiser and noticed traction is worse especially in the rain, and it lasted half as long. I got around 5k miles out of it. I'm on here ordering a new michelin now and decided to review this while it was on my mind. Also these tires are noisy. Going straight is fine, but as soon as you lean you immediately get a droning sound that gets worse the deeper you go into the lean. Overall, disappointed. I wanted to like it but won't go for it again.
These feel really good so far. I've been a die hard Dunlop D404 user, having used them across several bikes. But a buddy recommended this tire for my FXR and not gonna lie it's pretty good. The tire profile makes for smooth and controlled leans, the bike wants to stayvleaned over. The grip also really gives you a feeling of confidence. I can see this tire not lasting very long but it's great for my needs.
Coming from Pirelli, these are the sportbike tire- for cruisers. They offer great grip in the dry and are still above-average in the wet. They seem to have a rounder, more tapered profile as well which benefits a sportier handling feel as well. The trade off is these things hold up about as well as soft cheese on a hot day. Have a set on a Moto Guzzi v9- a roughly 50hp bike that was just used to putter around town, and the rear is now on the wear bars at about about 4400 miles. That's pretty disappointing considering I've had actual sportbike tires last longer than that on much more powerful bikes ridden much more aggressively.Considering these things aren't cheap, the bang for the buck is pretty lousy. Too expensive to only last a few thousand miles.
I have been running Night Dragons on both of my Harley's for years. You don't get a lot of mileage out of them, but the grip is incredible. I run narrow 21" tires on the front of both bikes and the grip makes up for the lack of width. If you like corners and sweeping turns this is the tire for you.
I run Night Dragons on both my Wide Glide and Sportster and love them. If you want lots of grip, these are the tires for you. If you are looking for high mileage, these are not the tires for you. I run narrow 21" tires on the front and I still have confidence going through the corners with them. Great tires.
I bought the pirelli night dragon for my harley davidson road kind CVO 2013 in April 2018.Once I received them from Revzilla it turns out that the tires are dated from 2016!!!I installed them on my King, the traction / performance is magnificet but the bike started wobbling, which means the bike shaking from the front and rear anytime the speed goes above 70m/h / 120km/h which is super dangerous.I didn;t suspect the tires cause they are new so I changed the steering bearing, the front and rear bearings and axels, Aligned the rear tire again, balanced the tires again, installed Ohlens racing suspension with fork cartridge kit and 357 shocks at the back, checked the tires at different pressures and still the wobbling was there. Then I swapped the wheels with normal ... MoreI bought the pirelli night dragon for my harley davidson road kind CVO 2013 in April 2018.Once I received them from Revzilla it turns out that the tires are dated from 2016!!!I installed them on my King, the traction / performance is magnificet but the bike started wobbling, which means the bike shaking from the front and rear anytime the speed goes above 70m/h / 120km/h which is super dangerous.I didn;t suspect the tires cause they are new so I changed the steering bearing, the front and rear bearings and axels, Aligned the rear tire again, balanced the tires again, installed Ohlens racing suspension with fork cartridge kit and 357 shocks at the back, checked the tires at different pressures and still the wobbling was there. Then I swapped the wheels with normal OEM dunlops and the wobbling was gone even at riding @ 120 m/h - 200km/h.The Harley mechanics and all other mechanics i` checked with told me that since it is a soft compound, the walls of the tire are not handling the weight of the bike at high speed!I have a million questions in mind after I spent more than $ 5000 on the upgrades and replacements?Could that be true that the walls can't take the 384kg / 846 pounds?Isn't Pirelli then supposed to advise on that and warn the customers?Did anyone face the same issue on a harley touring with the Pirelli?Shouldn't Revzilla not sell tires that are older than 1 year, cause even if they are stored properly, the tire eventually dries up after 1 year?I don't want to go back to the OEM dunlop for it handles badly and has 0 performance / grip on curves, and I have tested the avon Cobra on the rear, and though it sticks to the ground and handles perfectly, it also caused a wobble!I am looking now at the Metzeler 888, and though it is better than the bad OEM dunlop, but still doesn't give the high grip and performance thatI want to have while riding1Appreciate it if you can answer me on any of the above and please make sure to check if the tires you buy can take the weight of your bike.Cheers,
OK, after 800 miles, 600 of that on a trip to Crested Butte on just about every kind of road surface there is, I can report. These tires are not smooth as glass like the Dunlop Elite 4s I replaced; they are better. I had a real tactile feel for the road and after 300 miles my confidence in how these tires would handle curves and variations in pavement was complete. Other tires conditioned me to lean the bike in a curve on rough road at speed very conservatively, but I found I could trust these tires and was carving up the canyons north and south of Gunnison with glee--as much as a heavy bagger with a tailbag can carve, anyway! As long as Pirelli keeps making the 150/80-16 Front and Rear in this label, I'm buying. I will have to wait and see how the mileage works out.
