POC Ventral Air MIPS Helmet Through the use of a series of targeted ventilation ports, the POC Ventral Air MIPS Helmet delivers superior airflow to aid thermoregulation on hot, sunny rides. Internal channels funnel air across the whole head, even at slower speeds, and the addition of MIPS technology works to limit angular impact forces in the event of a crash. An eye garage allows for convenient and secure sunglass storage, while an adjustable 360-degree fit system makes dialling in the fit a simple process. A unique feature of this helmet is the 22-degree trailing edge, meaning the rear of the helmet is set at the perfect angle to limit turbulence, helping to minimise wind resistance and slice through the air. The fully wrapped unibody PC shell enhances stability, and a classic EPS liner offers crash protection without a weight penalty.

This is actually my 3rd POC road cycling helmet but the first that's the top model and it's worth it. It's much lighter than my other helmets (mostly used for commuting) and the extra bells & whistles (MIPS, NFC) are a plus. I love the simple and compact design of POC over the other brands. I'm usually an M size and the fit is a bit tighter than the Spin versions (maybe one day they'll have an AF version available outside of Asia), there was only one color selection available (surprisingly it's more white than black), and the ventilation is perfect. Oh, have to add that team EF Education-Easypost's (go Neilson!) RACETV (YouTube) had these entertaining "commercials" for their POC helmets and that's another reason to go POC.

Ventral Mips is a great helmet. Looks good, feels light, very ventilated. I don’t like the bright white straps on the Mips model. Although I clean my helmet, padding, and straps after every ride, the bright white straps are harder to keep looking white. I prefer the light grey straps on the white ventral Spin model. This helmet is nearly impossible to wear a cycling cap under comfortably without it feeling too tight and uneven pressure points for a cold weather ride greater than 2 hours. I find myself loosening the fit almost the entire amount and constantly adjusting.

Best helmet I have owned (and I have had a few!). Very comfortable fit (size large); very light; best ventilation I have had in a helmet. I genuinely forget it is on. I also have the Kask Valegro but it is not as comfortable and has a major design flaw in that to get the best ventilation you have to remove the front padding and allow sweat to run straight down your face. The Ventral deals with this much better - the vents allow air to flow onto your brow behind the padding and the big channel vents really do the job. I can ride a couple of hours on a hot day without any sweat running into my eyes and my head stays cool.

Feel like the title says it all. Been wearing a POC helmet for mountain biking for a few years now and have been completely satisfied with it, so when the time came to get a new road helmet, it was a no-brainer to stick with POC again.Wanted a low profile helmet, with good coverage and lots of ventilation. This helmet checks all the boxes. Could have gone up or down on sizing, but ultimately sized up to give me the flexibility of fitting a cap or thin beanie underneath. Helmet sizing has been easy to adjust and stays put.Totally satisfied.
Bunch of upgrades from the previous SPIN version:1. Ears can be adjusted2. White straps replaces previous grey straps3. MIPS Integra replaces SPIN (basically same — now black pads instead of blue, also padding extends further to back)The all white version is super sweet and no other company has anything like it, they all use black Eva foam which contrasts hard with any white shell. The model photo of white is deceiving its a pre-production unit, they are using white plastic buckles & hardware like the renders. Adjusting the ears & tightness of the strap takes a lot of finagling & isn’t simple, but you can lower the ears and shift them forward/aft to better fit around them — lots of complainants about prior SPIN version being unadjustable. Once you get it dialed though you are good.I’m a 56 and got Medium. I wear Medium in Giro, Bell, Specialized. There’s is a tiny bit of pressure at two points on the back of my skull when my mouth is shut (jaw movement affects circumference of head) so it doesn’t fit as comfy as cheaper helmets like my Giro Savant. The BOA retention can be adjusted up and down to 3 settings, I dropped it to the lowest.
Ventral Air MIPS is very comfortable, lots of air going through, and looks great!Just something to keep in mind if you have a rounder/wider head or "asian-shaped head", you'll have to size up if you're on the upper range of a size (I have a 58cm head and medium is just a tiny bit too small giving me hotspots at the top sides of my head, and large fits comfortably with a caveat). Though by doing so, just know that the helmet will also look a bit elongated too, meaning - the back side of the helmet sticks out quite a bit than usual, but the sides fit perfectly and is very comfortable. At least for me since every head shape is different. The retention system snugs up well and also tightens the fit from front to back really well if you end up in a position like mine. Bought this as a replacement for my wife after she fell mountain biking. The helmet did its job and protected her from a severe head injury which Im thankful. Helmet worked so well, I immediately went to re-purchase the exact same helmetSo why the low rating? Really it is for POC. Understand why they don’t have crash replacement so went to their outlet to see if I could get a discounted version of same helmet. Found one ensured it was exact same size and ordered. Upon receiving it did not fit properly so my wife wanted to return it. That’s when I learned it was non-returnable. POC has responsibility to make this more clear when ordering. Phenomenal helmets just disappointed in the customer experience when trying to be a loyal , repeat customer
The helmet is way to small, like WAY TOO SMALL. I'm a size ~58 and this supposedly fits a size 61. I had someone with a much smaller head try it on and they didn't find the sizing right either. The adjustment at the back only elongates the helmet, but the helmet isn't wide enough to accommodate larger heads in the first place. I fit well enough in a large Fox Speedframe, but this helmet doesn't even cover the top of my head (I ordered the largest size). Furthermore, DO NOT IGNORE THE STRAP REVIEWS. The strap issue that has been pointed out by many online, on reddit, and reviews here. There was no update or fix, they are ridiculously small/short. The marketing photos of the people with the helmet on is quite deceiving. I'm assuming they are using the same size ... MoreThe helmet is way to small, like WAY TOO SMALL. This item was sold as a finale sale, I tried chatting with POC and explaining how the sizing wasn't quite what I expected but was eventually denied a return. Luckily I purchased it on sale so I didn't loose too much, but if I paid full price I would feel horrible. This is my first POC purchase, and paired with absurd sizing and return policy (though clearly labeled on the website and throughout the checkout process) I think I will stick to Fox for MTB and try my luck with other brands for road stuff. It might be perfect for you, but if know you don't fit well in department store/medium sized helmets, I advise that you look elsewhere or at the very least TRY IT ON FIRST.
Bought this helmet 4 weeks ago , I already own a purple Octal and my wife has a pink Omni spin but I had a crash wearing this Ventral Air NFC this past Saturday and went over the handle bars at 20 mph and landed on my my head and shoulder , concussion , 4 broken ribs plenty of road rash but without this POC helmet the results may have been different . That’s why it’s the brand my wife and I wear. My younger brother died from head injuries in a bike crash 90 days ago , crazy stuff huh , he was wearing a time trial helmet not a POC in a Half IM , I said then that I truly believed that if he had been wearing a POC helmet he would maybe have had a better chance , who knows . We feel that it gives us the best chance in times like Saturday . The helmet held up remarkably ... MoreBought this helmet 4 weeks ago , I already own a purple Octal and my wife has a pink Omni spin but I had a crash wearing this Ventral Air NFC this past Saturday and went over the handle bars at 20 mph and landed on my my head and shoulder , concussion , 4 broken ribs plenty of road rash but without this POC helmet the results may have been different . It was my new fave and had worn it every day since I bought it even though I have 4 other helmets . Sadly it has to be retired less than a month after purchase . I’ve ridden every day since Sept 1 2018 and was able to ride the next day , inside on my wahoo trainer , but me and my streak are still alive ! I want to THANK YOU for making the safest helmet in the bicycle industry and I will never wear another brand !
This helmet has been the most comfortable and best designed cycling helmet I've owned. Handsome minimalistic geometric design, comfortable attachment mechanism, spin, turbulence reduction through science, etc. Brilliant. I don't obsess about aerodynamics and weight reduction, but it excels at those as well. The helmet's fit was true to size. The customer service is fantastic, they are committed to helping you make the best decision, are objective and the communications lead times are pretty reasonable.I live in the Canadian East coast, so, for me (and the planet), their logistics setup was not friction-less. I'll give it to them, thanks for not flying over my order, but I'm sure an East coast warehouse would be more efficient (and carbon-friendly).I take one star ... MoreThis helmet has been the most comfortable and best designed cycling helmet I've owned. If it wasn't for ill-designed attachment and ventilation systems, I would have bought a Smith trail helmet, just for those bold and stylish colour palettes and highlights. Cycling brands, please fire those toddlers that are choosing primary colours for your products (they should probable be in kindergarten).b) Because I'd have loved it if it increased its protection coverage, a bit lower down the neck and ears like a "commuter" helmet.
