This performance helmet has been specifically designed to provide unparalleled cooling. Precise vents and integrated ducts control airflow at high and low speeds and expel excess air, giving the helmet a cooling effect on the entire head. Ideal for longer rides in the mountains or hot days in the saddle. The Ventral Air Mips improves the aerodynamic profile and minimises air resistance. Special ventilation zones ensure optimal cooling, while the aerodynamically optimised trailing edge reduces air turbulence. The exceptionally lightweight road bike helmet was developed according to Poc's Whole Helmet Concept. It has a one-piece wrap-around shell and an EPS insert for an ideal balance between weight and safety. It is also equipped with the Mips rotational impact protection. Other practical features include an easy adjustment system for a custom fit and a goggle holder for easy and safe storage of glasses while riding. CFD tested Rear edge angled at 22° to reduce turbulence Goggle mount Mips Integra The latest technology from the brain protection specialists at Mips offers improved rotational impact protection. 360° adjustment system Lightweight and simple 360° adjustment system for a secure and comfortable fit.

This is actually my 3rd POC road cycling helmet but the first that's the top model and it's worth it. It's much lighter than my other helmets (mostly used for commuting) and the extra bells & whistles (MIPS, NFC) are a plus. I love the simple and compact design of POC over the other brands. I'm usually an M size and the fit is a bit tighter than the Spin versions (maybe one day they'll have an AF version available outside of Asia), there was only one color selection available (surprisingly it's more white than black), and the ventilation is perfect. Oh, have to add that team EF Education-Easypost's (go Neilson!) RACETV (YouTube) had these entertaining "commercials" for their POC helmets and that's another reason to go POC.

Best helmet I have owned (and I have had a few!). Very comfortable fit (size large); very light; best ventilation I have had in a helmet. I genuinely forget it is on. I also have the Kask Valegro but it is not as comfortable and has a major design flaw in that to get the best ventilation you have to remove the front padding and allow sweat to run straight down your face. The Ventral deals with this much better - the vents allow air to flow onto your brow behind the padding and the big channel vents really do the job. I can ride a couple of hours on a hot day without any sweat running into my eyes and my head stays cool.

Bunch of upgrades from the previous SPIN version:1. Ears can be adjusted2. White straps replaces previous grey straps3. MIPS Integra replaces SPIN (basically same — now black pads instead of blue, also padding extends further to back)The all white version is super sweet and no other company has anything like it, they all use black Eva foam which contrasts hard with any white shell. The model photo of white is deceiving its a pre-production unit, they are using white plastic buckles & hardware like the renders. Adjusting the ears & tightness of the strap takes a lot of finagling & isn’t simple, but you can lower the ears and shift them forward/aft to better fit around them — lots of complainants about prior SPIN version being unadjustable. Once you get it dialed though you are good.I’m a 56 and got Medium. I wear Medium in Giro, Bell, Specialized. There’s is a tiny bit of pressure at two points on the back of my skull when my mouth is shut (jaw movement affects circumference of head) so it doesn’t fit as comfy as cheaper helmets like my Giro Savant. The BOA retention can be adjusted up and down to 3 settings, I dropped it to the lowest.

I was looking for a red helmet to match my bike (yes, I admit it) and good visibility, too, I suppose, that narrowed down my choices. This POC helmet was on sale -- still expensive, but reduced. A friend who had a bad head injury while cycling did a lot of helmet research and recommended POC. I liked the extra coverage in the back of the head. So I got spent some extra and got it. It fits my big head well and has room for a sweat cap. The size adjustment works well. It holds my glasses well in the slots near the temple. It seems to have good air flow -- less dripping sweat compared to my previous helmet (a Bell). I think it looks pretty good. Glad I got it, would recommend it because it holds my glasses and seems to reduce sweat.
Ventral Air MIPS is very comfortable, lots of air going through, and looks great!Just something to keep in mind if you have a rounder/wider head or "asian-shaped head", you'll have to size up if you're on the upper range of a size (I have a 58cm head and medium is just a tiny bit too small giving me hotspots at the top sides of my head, and large fits comfortably with a caveat). Though by doing so, just know that the helmet will also look a bit elongated too, meaning - the back side of the helmet sticks out quite a bit than usual, but the sides fit perfectly and is very comfortable. At least for me since every head shape is different. The retention system snugs up well and also tightens the fit from front to back really well if you end up in a position like mine. Great looking helmet in matte black. I have a hydrogen white POC Ventral and the fit is very similar, but not exactly the same. Both helmets run small, which seems to be a theme with POC helmets. I have a large tête, but L helmets in other brands fit me well (Specialized, Lazer). POC buckets also seem to fit a more round head, which for me (oval head) leads to a small amount of constriction at the back of the head. Not uncomfortable, just noticeable. Otherwise the helmet fits well and feels very secure.
I've worn the POC Octal for years and really love it, decided to try the Ventral Air Mips to see if anythings new. It feels a bit lighter and the air flow is really extraordinary. A joy to wear. However... the sunglasses garage is a total fail! So disappointing, the same feature on the Octal works like a champ. The material in the "garage' that was formerly a little bit tacky is now like a dry felt and the sunglasses don't even stay in place for a brief look down, let alone a minor bump in the road. Never realized how important this feature is to me until it didn't work!! Researching a DIY work-around...
Review your item selections carefully when checking out and be careful about product choices and sizing as the company doesn't offer exchanges. You must return items separately and then purchase again. The shipping costs are your responsibility when returning, which can be prohibitively expensive like many things today. I just paid $37 to return a helmet that weighs less than a pound! Costly mistake! Tried calling to ask for some assistance but no one answers. Beautiful helmet otherwise.
I purchased this helmet in the lemon calcite color. Not only was it on a fantastic sale, I REALLY like the look and feel of this helmet! The color is great for visibility but it's not an obnoxious neon color; it's actually pretty classy and I like that it's a matte finish. I have a pretty small head and the XS/S fits well, although I do have to be sure to cinch it pretty tight otherwise I find that the front of the helmet will bump my cycling glasses when I ride over bumps. I even rode with a group of fast dudes and they all complimented my helmet.
Bought this helmet 4 weeks ago , I already own a purple Octal and my wife has a pink Omni spin but I had a crash wearing this Ventral Air NFC this past Saturday and went over the handle bars at 20 mph and landed on my my head and shoulder , concussion , 4 broken ribs plenty of road rash but without this POC helmet the results may have been different . That’s why it’s the brand my wife and I wear. My younger brother died from head injuries in a bike crash 90 days ago , crazy stuff huh , he was wearing a time trial helmet not a POC in a Half IM , I said then that I truly believed that if he had been wearing a POC helmet he would maybe have had a better chance , who knows . We feel that it gives us the best chance in times like Saturday . The helmet held up remarkably ... MoreBought this helmet 4 weeks ago , I already own a purple Octal and my wife has a pink Omni spin but I had a crash wearing this Ventral Air NFC this past Saturday and went over the handle bars at 20 mph and landed on my my head and shoulder , concussion , 4 broken ribs plenty of road rash but without this POC helmet the results may have been different . It was my new fave and had worn it every day since I bought it even though I have 4 other helmets . Sadly it has to be retired less than a month after purchase . I’ve ridden every day since Sept 1 2018 and was able to ride the next day , inside on my wahoo trainer , but me and my streak are still alive ! I want to THANK YOU for making the safest helmet in the bicycle industry and I will never wear another brand !
