These spools are sold in FEET, not YARDS. All their other spools are sold in YARDS.500 feet is 166 YARDS. I didn't pay attention to that difference when I bought it. I am not sure the collored line is worth an extra $10 for the smaller spools.

Used it 2 days this past week!We caught several cuber snapper and other fish trolling with the 50# test!The only change that would make it better for trolling is if they got rid of the 5 foot marks as it breaks up the 25 foot colors!I understand this is dual purpose for trolling or jigging,etc so the 5 foot marks would be great!I am not saying this is a bad thing just that it is redundant in My type trolling because I run 5 or 6 lines off a small boat and the 2 I use this on need to be at an exact distance back which is 225 feet for Me and if these lines are not almost identical distance they will tangle in fairly sharp turns!In conclusion I will say this will be My go to line from here on!I have used almost 100% Power Pro for several years because no other line ... I've used this line in 20 lb weight for at least 6 years. I troll for walleyes and it has never failed me. Last August I caught a 50" Musky with this line as well as numerous walleye over the spring and summer. I stopped using my line counter reels. It is great to know your depth without cumbersome heavy reels that typically have line counters. I use it on level wind and spinning reels with equal success. Highly recommend.

Used for thirst time today and love it. The 15lb test is the same diamiater as 4lb test. Just get a trollng app on your iPhone and you know exactly how deep your lure is running. Trolled 2 rods today and lost count of fish caught. may still use lead core in the future, but I'm done with line counters for good. With this line, no need to reset the counter: line counters don't hold up anyway. This line chages color every 25 feet and has marker every 5 feet, this is way ahead if line counter reels.
I troll for stripers and the speed and amount of line out has a large bearing on the lure depth. With this color coded line, I can be much more precise with how much line I have out. Line counter reels are only somewhat accurate if you have them fully loaded. With differing amounts of line on Line counter reels, they can be off by a significant amount.The only down side is that I like to keep all my trolling reels with the same starting color so, if I have a line break, I end up throwing away almost 100' of line in order to get back to that same color (blue in my case). That is, however, a small price to pay for such accuracy and flexibility in line length management and, therefore, lure depth.
I fish Ontario, Canada "Lake of the Woods Islands" as a predominate "Plug Puller". The metered braided line provides me with a better concept of true length of line I have used in the trolling, casting or jigging styles of fishing, without having to calibrate a "Line-Counting" reel.
I started using braid last year and I loved how strong it was. I bent one of my reels by pulling so hard on 30 lb braid without it breaking. Then I bought this brand, and 10 lb catfish will break my line. If I get snagged on a rock or tree branches just a little pressure will break the line. You are better off using monofilament or fluorocarbon than buying this brand. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of how well it casts.
I have been using this line since it first came out.this is the best idea ever, the control that you haveover depth can not be beat . catch a fish on one rodand dile in the other three rods in less than one minuet. No line counters sticking up on your real or other contraptions trying to get it right.There is no gess work.Curt
well i have nothing against the product, just beware its not a bargain like i thought. all power pro line is spooled in yards, so i thought this was a great deal for 1000 yds of line for $47. the header for the choices says yardage. when i recieved the line i was very surprised it was 1000 feet not yards. it is just barely enough line for 1 reel not 3 like i thought. guess i should have been more careful when i chose this product. i can get the reel spooled at most tackle shops in my area for less than that and not have to do anything. i think they need to put a note in the product page drawing our attention to the fact that its feet not yards.
