Power Pro Braid Line 300yds Green 20lb
PowerPro Braided Spectra Fiber Line is not affected by saltwater, UV rays, or most chemicals and solvents. The life of PowerPro line is much longer than monofilament lines (as a rule of thumb, it lasts five times the life of monofilament line). In fact, depending on how much and where you fish, PowerPro Braided Spectra Fiber Line could last two to three fishing seasons or longer. With PowerPro, you have more fish in the boat, and less bait lost – you’ll find that you’re actually money ahead. PowerPro Braided Spectra Fiber Line is composed of polyethylene, a very slick plastic. In fact, the only material that is slicker than Spectra, is Teflon. Spectra, combined with PowerPro's Enhanced Body Technology, makes a rounder and smoother line, which is gentler on rod guides than the older style braids. PowerPro Braided Spectra Fiber Line has a specific gravity of 0.98 g/cc – just a hair lighter than water. Unlike heavier nylon and Dacron lines that sink, PowerPro will tend to stay at the surface. This means that you’ll get faster control of your fish after a strike with less belly in the line.

Powerpro has always been an excellent and economical braid. Super 8 Slick V2 is a great addition to the powerpro lineup. It has all the features of the original yet is an 8 carrier and more abrasion resistant and supple. The only thing I could say may be a negative for some would be the Onyx color bleeds just a little and the line color ends up being a grayish silver that has a bit of a sheen to it. However, if you use a Fluorocarbon leader, problem is solved! It is also very quiet going through the guides and knot strength is excellent. I've tried just about every braid made and always came back to Powerpro. IT JUST WORKS and the price is right!!

I fish this tied direct when aggressively fishing in stained but otherwise clear water Canadian shield waters on a Johnny Morris Carbonlite 2.0 & Shimano Curado DC casting rigs. When I slow things down I tie a 14 pound or 17 pound fluoro leader with a double uni knot and it holds like a champ when I am using Pflueger President 25 reels. I'll drop down to 15 pound when I drop to my Carbonlite 2.0 1500 spinning rig with equal success. The line holds up for several seasons and has little memory. When tying direct on my casting rigs I do have to retie after a couple of toothy fish but that is life.

This stuff is so abrasive it feels like it’s sawing through the eyelets of my rod. I put this on my quantum smoke baitcaster and ran terrible every cast. It eventually backlashed to a point I could not untangle it. It’s near impossible to free a birds nest with this stuff. I had zero problems out of other braids on the same setup and they didn’t feel like I was running a saw through the eyelets either

Honestly I have never used a better braid. I’ve tried them all and Power Pro cannot he beat, and it’s not even the most expensive. Zero memory, super smooth, extremely abrasion resistant. I just wish they made it in a light blue color for clear water. For that I go to Daiwa J Braid.Moss Green with a Flouro leader can’t be beat in almost every situation.I replace my line once a year, and that’s fishing over 200 days per year and never had a failure. I even spool the used end onto another reel exposing the fresh end for another season. Absolutely fantastic line.
I have been fishing for over sixty five years here in Florida and the best braided fishing line is PowerPro. Over the years I have fished many of the monofilament lines and braided lines that have come out on the market. When PowerPro came out I gave it a try.I've been using PowerPro ever since.I know that the color fades after usage, but it's strength continues, and that's more important to me.I have tried tying lures with various knots, and most of them work very well with PowerPro. My favorite knot to use is the Uni-Knot. it works great for me.
I purchased this product based on the many positive reviews. I ordered the PowerPro 1500 Yard Braided Spectra Fiber line, 30lb weight. Upon receipt, I performed a bench strength test multiple times using a digital scale and found the line to break between 13.5 and 16.5 pounds. I contacted Bass Pro Shop and returned the item. It was replaced for free with 40lb line, very same brand, which I received today. After conducting multiple strenght tests, the new line broke each time between 22 & 27 pounds. I then tested the line using a 35lb hanging weight which also popped the 40lb line. I cannot recommend this line to anyone at this time because the material used on the products sent to me appears to be weaker than advertised.
I respooled a Penn 6000 series spinning reel, and the 300 yard spool of 50 lb PowerPro was the ideal amount to complete the job. I have always used a local tackle shop to respool my reels, but they went out of business. Being able to buy this sized spool was perfect for my needs. Ready for the fall grouper bite with fresh line!
I was a long time ANTI Braid guy. This 20 # Power Pro Product was the first Braid I have purchased and use. I combined it with an eight foot G. Loomis rod and a Penn 4500 Slammer for Beach surf fishing in my Home town in North Carolina. WOW!! slick and strong. The casting distance is remarkable! I tie on a 4 foot section of Sako 25# leader with a great knot I found in the small pamphlet with the Power Pro Braid. I now can get out far enough to reach the fish. My advice use the line use their Knot ( easier than any I found on u tube) eat the fish.
I purchased Power Pro 20 lb high visibility line so I could rig up my spinning reel for bass fishing Wacky Worm style. The purpose of the high visibility is to be able to see my line moving when I get a strike. Great definitely going to help me catch more bass because it's very easy to spot in the water any movement also very strong for pulling those bass out and away from the weeds. Highly recommended if you're going to be fishing Wacky Worm Style
Just a little over three years ago, I made the switch from monofilament to Power Pro’s braid. One of my first experiences using Power Pro was when 10 LB braid hauled in a massive, 8-foot log in the strong current of a stream. I was astounded at its strength, and this served as an indicator of how it would perform over the next few years. The sensitivity with this braid is unbelievable. You will be able to feel every bite, every rock, every weed, and every time you touch the bottom. Additionally, the No-stretch allows you to instantly set the hook on fish, giving them no wiggle room and providing an instant-action feel that is awesome.Over my three years of using PowerPro, I can only remember twice when a fish broke me off. That is incredible considering how many fish I’ve successfully caught in that time frame. With other types of line, I can’t imagine how many fish I would’ve lost. This stuff is the standard for a reason. It’s high quality and its strength is unmatched. I’ll likely stick with it for life. 10/10.
