Amazing Tens but worried about pads

Really like the power dot duo. I’ve only had it for about a week but use it everyday. Good strength and no connection issues. The app seems out dated or missing things but works and connects well with fitness trackers. I’d give this 5 stars but the majority of the pads are sold out on Therabody, I tried to buy in bulk so that I didn’t get hit with shipping and it had me send an email to their “bulkdistributor” email. With the cost of the pads and not being able to get them I don’t know how long I’ll be able to actually use it and may have to consider returning it.

Pods would constantly lose connection to my phone. Could not complete more than one minute of any session/routine. Could not adjust strength after one minute. Tried all pair, unpair, forget, re-pair techniques with no success. Could never start a routine with both pods at the same time. Was looking forward to using these but now must return and buy different unit. Also struggled with connection with customer service. Took over one week to get response. Refund requested and, as mentioned above, will be trying a different brand.

Good I guess but no forethought for good business/ customer service.

So the unit seems pretty good all things considered but what I'm the most disappointed about is that they don't really go into all the functions when you first purchase it. For example, I didn't know that it aids with menstrual cycle cramps but that you would need the duo rather than the single to enjoy this feature. Secondly, the pads are not reusable past 25 usages — which means you have to keep replacing the pads. However, the pads are completely sold out so if you use it often, and you just got your unit, expect long delays to get new pads for the unit. There should be a surplus of the pads to match the volume of units being sold. This just seems like an intelligent business model which was a huge gap for this company 🤦🏼‍♀️.Don't bother asking a live agent ... MoreSo the unit seems pretty good all things considered but what I'm the most disappointed about is that they don't really go into all the functions when you first purchase it. Great tool, but comes with bugs
25 June 2024

On the technical side, I think this product is amazing. The different programs, the powerful tensions, it’s clearly a professionally designed and built tool. Unfortunately it only works through an app that isn’t that well designed, and the phone keeps losing connectivity to the device. If you look at reviews it’s apparent that something is wrong because the device will lose connection to the phone roughly 6-7 times out of 10 programs you’ll run. However, since the programme is actually sent to the device, you can mostly ignore this detail and let it do its job

Great, when it works
25 April 2024

Have had the device for a little over a month and it’s been great… When it works.Recovering from an Achilles tear last year, this has really helped especially with my calves and ankles. The problem is, that it constantly disconnects; at least one per day. I’ve tried different pads, having the device next to my phone and even had it connected to my iPad (which seemed to temporarily fix the issue, but now has reverted.I’ve reset the device and is still having issues. Once again, great… when it works.

Stay away! Bluetooth issues are constant.
15 June 2024

Very poor for the price you pay for. In today’s world you expect this type of tech to work seamlessly but this is not the case… In an iPhone user and when you connect the PowerDots they keep on getting disconnected. You spend a good 5mins trying to get them to work. Even when they do work, during a session they will get disconnected; disrupting your ability to change the intensity or pause your session. I’ve also tried this on Android and it’s just as poor.CX will tell you to reset the devices, re-add them on your Bluetooth but this does nothing.

Upgraded selfcare tool
27 March 2023

It is a very impressive gadget. The smartphone app removes the guesswork on the pad placement, intensity and duration. One of my favourite functions is the smart device. Once I link my Garmin app, the powerdot app learns my activities and provides customized recovery programs to help me recover faster, more effectively, and relieve any pain. Ideally, purchase the dual pad to maximize time and the other features. The only downside is the cost; the electrode pads must be replaced after 22 uses. But, as they say, good quality comes with a price. Most notable is the prompt and excellent customer service. Overall I recommend it.

Very disappointing product
7 July 2024

I purchased this product to help alleviate some back pain. The BlueTooth connectivity is VERY weak and the pads disconnect from the almost immediately after starting a program. I have never made it through a program. There are MUCH cheaper and better functioning wired products available on Amazon that work more reliably for about $35. I recommend going with one of these. I am currently working with customer support for a refund/return or replacement if it will actually work. Reading the reviews I am not optimistic about a replacement working better.

Works as intended, just an embarrassingly terrible connection
10 March 2024

I think the device when it is connected properly and no bugs is phenomenal. The biggest issue with this is trying to connect to the device AND ESPECIALLY keeping connected. If your phone is on the opposite side of your body (i.e. e-stim on your back while holding phone in hands), it will likely disconnect which then often never reconnects again without stopping entirely, disconnecting bluetooth, reconnecting bluetooth, reconnecting to the app, then restarting the activity you were just doing all over again. It’s a nightmare.

seems to work -- but pads are wasteful: buy a gel instead!
11 November 2022

I bought this for my bf's bday (last year got him the theragun) and he says it helps relieve pain associated with his knee injury (sprained acl). He now uses it in combination with his physio and Theragun routine; and doesn't seem to have daily pain anymore.I'm giving 4 stars because the replacement pads are sold out and are expensive; but mostly because it seems like a terribly wasteful by-product of this device. Since the pads have been sold out, I looked into getting electro-adhesive gel to use once the pads wear out (comes in a tube and is widely used in hospitals and clinics). It seems like the most ecological and effective way to keep using the original pads without having to discard every month, simply due to the adhesion wearing out (despite nothing ... MoreI bought this for my bf's bday (last year got him the theragun) and he says it helps relieve pain associated with his knee injury (sprained acl). Hoping therabody comes up with more environmental solutions or that people just buy this gel and we can collectively reduce the environmental impact from this product (while also saving $).Though, I did find it a rip off that Therabody only provides one set of pads when buying the PowerDot duo... at least supply two sets!
