So much better when you can go into the dedicated sound room and compare live, the various models on offer. I bought the Eris 5s- why? No overpowering base to drown out all the subtleties- just a very balanced, spacious and clean replication of the original recordings. Next best speakers were only slightly better but nearly 5 times the price! Value for money the Eris 5s are incredibly good and won't break the bank. Very pleased with my purchase.

I use a Pair of Presonus Eris E5 as monitors for my little home acoustic guitar mixer system. They sound surprisingly good in this configuration. I have also used them in my sound system with and without Subwoofer support. The sound was quite satisfying and could work well as in a decent HiFi system. For the price that I paid for the Pair, the sound quality is very respectable. I have only been using them for a few hours and believe that the lower frequency will still improve as they loosen up. As a stand-alone set of active speakers in a small sound system, they are well worth it, They project a solid sound stage and are quite revealing. Ive been looking for a pair of these active studio monitors for a long time, after demoing all the 5 models back to back . These came out on top , the most natural and full sounding speakers you can get at the best price. Excellent quality, most adjustable, and now Im happy
Fast shipping, been wanting these for years. Haven't plugged them in yet but did research on YouTube before deciding to purchase them. I have a home recording studio and purchased these for more variety of true sound to go alongside my 8" monitors and 5" monitors. Can't wait to get to monitor switching during mix downs now
I bought the pair of Presonus Eris E5 studio monitors to upgrade my NYC home recording studio. Price, size, sound quality, frequency response range and monitor's control features were key requirements for new monitors. I compared them to several other brands and models in online sound comparison videos as well as in person at retail sound rooms. The Personus E5 were a good match to more expensive studio monitors with equal quality and features. I was able to adjust the bass as needed by the control features. They fit perfect on my monitor self. Sound quality live and recorded are a perfect match. I would highly recommend the Prosonus Eris E5 Studio monitors.I could not find any downside or cons with the Persons E5. They excelled in features, sound and build quality.
Great monitor speakers. Be aware, these have their own power source so theyre not suitable for, eg, a stereo system. They work great for a DAW like focusrite. Excellent response, well balanced across the audible range without perceptible bias. Im very pleased with the value to quality ratio as well.
Perfect for digital piano monitors. Variable EQ options allow me to dial in an incredible grand piano reproduction with my Privia PX-s3000. No outboard EQ necessary. I would not trade my simple, ridiculously affordable set up for an acoustic grand costing 100 times as much. Recreating a realistic piano sound/experience with every nuance present, with no distortion or artifact at all levels, pitches, and with all harmonies, is a demanding task. I have experienced frustration with many quality monitors and digital pianos in the past. The E5s are so accurate and detailed I am in sonic heaven every time I play my piano. Thank you Presonus!
Bought a pair of these to use as mixing monitors in my home studio. They are so far ahead of anything in the price class it's not funny. The clarity in the midrange is outstanding. The bass is not "lacking" like you often see claimed in reviews of reference monitors, it's just not hopped up like most consumer audio speakers. I like the ability to feed them directly from the line outs of my board. I don't think they would have the acoustic power to fill a room, but for near-field listening they are great.
1st time ive used pmt and would not hesitate to use again. great service and website, delivered when promised and great communication throughout.bought the eris 5's to replace my eris 4.5s and to work with my presonus sub. these speakers, for the small upgrade price, are chalk and cheese in terms of sound which really surprised me. i was always relatively happy with the 4.5s but an intermittent tweeter cutting out made me buy these. the frequency response is much flatter and clearer on the 5's and having run both through sonarworks in the same speaker position the difference in eq curves was astounding. If you are looking at the eris range and pondering between the 2 the minimal price difference is more than worth it

PreSonus Eris E5 2-Way Active Studio Monitor (Single)
When you’re ready to get serious about recording, it’s time to step up to PreSonus Eris-series studio monitors. Cheap computer speakers and home-stereo speakers won’t reveal the truth about your mix. They aren’t designed for that. In contrast, Eris speakers are real studio monitors, delivering a very accurate response with a tight bass and very clear upper end. That’s what you need in a home studio. Thanks to well-designed Kevlar low frequency transducers, low-mass silk-dome tweeters, responsive Class AB amplification, and professional acoustic-adjustment controls, Eris delivers the goods. Yet Eris-series speakers are ultra-affordable, making them a terrific value. And with two models, you can easily find the Eris monitor that best suits your studio needs. When Size Matters If space is at a premium, or if you want the ultimate in portability, consider the compact Eris E5, which takes up just 7 x 10.24 x 7.68 inches (178 x 260 x 195 mm) and weighs in at just 10.2 lbs (4.63 kg). You can shoehorn this little beauty into almost any studio space. The E5 sports a 5.25-inch, Kevlar low-frequency driver, mated with a 45W, Class AB amplifier; and a 1-inch (25 mm), silk-dome tweeter powered by a 35W, Class AB amplifier. It can crank out a clean 102 dB SPL, peak. Frequency response is rated at 53 Hz to 22 kHz. For a studio monitor in its size and price class, that’s impressive.
