My older male cat has urinary tract issues so he has been eating pro plan wet urinary health food for quite awhile. He loves this chicken one but I couldn’t always get it. Recently it’s been more available so I had it on autoship.A few weeks ago he suddenly stopped eating and we feared he was going to pass away. We were giving him water with a straw- he was so lethargic. Rushed to the vet- he had a bacterial infection Campylobacter, found in his stool. Thankfully after fluids, appetite stimulant he finally ate after several days. And then we were able to give antibiotics and he got better. I am not sure if the turkey is better as far as issues with this but he doesn’t like seafood so switching to that. My cat has had issues with interstitial cystitis since he was 1 years old. He is now 5 and we have had 2 episodes of urinary blockages. Just recently he was diagnosed with struvite stones in his bladder. I tried the Royal Canine Urinary SO prescription from my vet and my cat wouldn't eat it. I had to find an alternative because I did not want another expensive emergency vet bill. I found this and so far so good! He locks the bowl clean and it keeps his urinary tract health in check! I also ordered the stone breaker powder off chewy and have been adding it to this product with a pre and pro biotic as well. Fingers crossed!

My vet put my kitty on a prescription SO diet for urinary crystals. It came in morsels which my cat wouldn't touch. She previous was on dry food diet only so I thought maybe it was because she wasn't used to wet food. But after mashing up the morsels, she ate it. It was a hassle mashing up the morsels four times a day (as the can food was to be a treat only, split up into four servings per day) and then she would have the urinary SO prescription dry food as her free feed. I then found this food and asked my vet if I could switch. She hesitantly said yes. I barely had to do anything to it since it came in tiny chunks. I added water like I did with the other but didn't need to mash it up nearly as much to get it where she would eat it. She loved it. She's a torty and you know how demanding they can be :-).

My senior cat has urinary issues and recently stopped eating the same prescription food (kibble) that she's been on for several years. I tried offering some canned foods, and she ate some of the other flavors (all pate style) in the Purina Pro Plan Urinary Tract Health line, but eventually lost interest in those, too. We started offering this flavor, and she loves it!!! I've had a hard time finding this particular flavor locally, so I ordered a case from Chewy. I wish Purina would develop other flavors in this line that have chunks in gravy!
I have two cats, one 15 yrs old, and the other I just inherited from a 90 year old person that died and his family wanted somebody to take his cat. Well I have his cat now who is about 9 years old.Anyway, both cats have been given the canned cat food, they take a lick and then leave it. My other cat who I had to have euthanized last year, actually liked it, so I thought these two would like it. Nope. But I would still recommend because that cat that died liked it.
I use this food and mix it with the more expensive Hills CD canned urinary food. The Hills is $58 so this Purina is about $20. less for 24 cans. I mix it about 50/50 and it really helps my budget. Our cats last 2 checkups went well and he is leaving nice big urine clumps in the litter box . So i will keep mixing this with the more expensive Hills. IMO the prices of these prescription cat foods are beyond expensive and is really just nothing but outright unabashed price gouging. So mixing this $38 per case Purina with with the $58 Hills food is the cheapest most economical option I can come up with. I hope Purina does not raise the price on this pro plan food.
My cat is a special needs kitty 😺. We constantly had her at the vet for urinary tract problems. We tried medicine, steroids. They only helped short term. We decided to give this food a try. This is a wonderful food. My cat loves it. It saves us a ton of money on vet bills. It's definitely worth the money to get a decent food for her health. I highly recommend this food.
A few years ago, my Siberian Forest Cat underwent surgery and the Veterinarian recommended that he go on special urinary food diet indefinitely. We tried so many different brands, none of which my sassy cat enjoyed.. although he is very food motivated. We finally tried the Purina Pro Plan and have never looked back. The gravy definitely makes this wet food stand out and I have a feeling that is why my fur baby enjoys it so much. This review was submitted in exchange for an entry to the Free Purina Petfood for a Year Contest.
I just received my order that I have been looking forward to. Not only did I find an ugly mess leaked in the carton and four damaged cans with evidence of leaked gravy and dead maggots, but also I was just given $10 back on my charge card for this stinking, gross situation. I don’t feel reimbursed. And I am done with this place. I was only saving a penny a can. I would rather go to my local pet store and not open a freaky mess like this. Also, the new recyclable aluminum cans are weak and questionable if it is actually safe for pets to receive food from this.Enjoy the pics and have a nice night.
Our cat was forced to change to an all wet diet with no break-in period due to some urinary tract issues. We tried every urinary food we could find, including Hill's Science diet prescription from the vet, but he was not interested in any of them. We finally found this, and not only is it cheaper than prescription food, he's actually excited to eat it. Would definitely recommend trying this if your cat needs to be on a urinary food. The 5.5oz cans are a much better deal than the 3oz
