Proactiv Solution Step 1 Renewing Cleanser 120ml

So… I went into this a bit nervous, as I do have very sensitive skin. I don’t struggle much with acne, but I do have one or two problem areas, so I was also excited for trying this product out. I used it once a day, at night, for two weeks, along with my typical moisturizer (La Roche Posay), and it still turned my skin into an absolute desert. It helped a bit with my problem areas but it really isn’t worthy the trade off, since dry flaky skin is a bit harder to deal with than a touch of acne, in my opinion. Unfortunately this isn’t something I’d purchase, but for someone that doesn’t already struggle with sensitive skin, I could see it being a great product.

This is a nice, gentle cleanser. I’m not sure what the exfoliating ingredient is but it’s really fine and really gentle, but still efficient and I liked that feature the most. The fragrance isn’t strong but it’s still obviously artificial which I’m not a fan of. I prefer to wash my face with something natural afterwards to lower the odor so I don’t smell it on myself afterwards, but I am sensitive to artificial fragrances.

I really love this product. I was initially using Clean and Clear and it would leave my face clean just for that afternoon and did not shrink my pores. With Proactiv my face feels clean and shrank my pores and kept them like that. My skin feels so soft. I have sensitive skin and this worked wonders. No burning sensation. No redness. My face feels a whole lot cleaner. Will definitely continue to purchase.

With the warnings (could dry out skin) on this face wash and my sometimes sensitive skin, I was pleasantly surprised that proactive cleanser didn’t dry out my skin. It leaves my face feeling clean and healthy. I didn’t give it 5 stars for one simple reason. I think it’s a wee bit too abrasive to use as recommended. It has exfoliation to it and could make more sensitive skin angry. The recommended use is 2 times a day, but I opted to use it less often due to the exfoliation. I use it every other day...once a day.

It's Proactiv. The brand's been around the block for multiple generations. It was great at preventing acne when I was a teen. As long as it's used in a system, works great. Definitely good cleanser for acne prone skin. Has a gentle exfoliation to polish skins surface. Works better at preventing acne, rather than clearing it up (for me). Doesn't tend to help with hormonal acne in my experience. Moisturizer is a MUST when it comes to using any sort of acne fighting products.

I received this complimentary from Influenster to review and tried it for a couple of weeks. I would use this every other day since I didn’t want to overload and irritate my skin, which still happened anyways since this is a bit drying for me. I found it helped keep some acne at bay and allowed them to heal quicker, but the irritation wasn’t really worth it and actually caused more breakouts. I think this would be a couple of times or even once a week cleanser for me, but there are cheaper options out there that do the same thing.

I just want to start off by saying my acne used to be really really bad. I used to have cystic acne and I've tried Proactiv before and was very disappointed to see that what people were saying about your skin getting addicted to the formula were true. That being said--I did not have an issue with this product and my skin did not become addicted to this. However, my acne isn't nearly as bad as what it used to be years ago. This product was nice, but it didn't really do anything for me, and that's probably considering my skin is pretty clear nowadays. That's not to say it wouldn't work for someone else, it just wasn't for me.

Ok so at first I was bummed that I received this number from the steps because during winter time I'd think the percentage of benzoyl peroxide would be too strong and dry my skin out more than it's already dry (we're talking complete 365-day drought going on on my face.) I have been quite shocked at how effective and soft this treatment has been and felt. I only use it in acne prone areas and follow up with my own deep moisturizer, and I've been left perplexed and surprised. My acne overnight poofed away and my skins now just healing well and fast. I guess, don't knock it 'til you try it. (Although it is quite pricey.)

I had awful acne and red marks so bad that I would use makeup to cover it all up and would never leave the house until all bumps and marks were covered up. I found Proactiv and began using it as directed, massaging it in for the recommended amount of time. When I do that, my face clears up. I still get occasional acne but nowhere near the face full of acne I used to get. My skin even has a glow and people are surprised to hear I used to have an issue with my skin. I'm very happy to find Proactiv at Target now. The skin on my face is sensitive so I'm unable to use the toner that is part of the three recommended Proactiv products, so I use the cleanser and the repairing lotion.

ONLY THING THAT WORKS

I've been using for years, but got tired of Proactive's auto delivery contract. I was very happy Target carried the ORIGINAL Proactive wash. Don't bother with their other products, especially the X one that has menthol in it. Only thing menthol does is bother your eyes and makes your skin feel weird. This stuff works! It also is the best spot treatment too. Only negative is that the price is way out of line.
