I came from a HX machine, so temperature control was not perfect. I had made changes to the machine so that i was getting a flat temperature throughout the shot, but there was still something missing.I went into the store to check out the machine, I was initially looking into a dual boiler but rave reviews from owners had me look at pro800. The team at IDC was very helpful and i pulled a few shots with my own coffee/grinder and few with their coffee/grinder as well. The spring lever machine's declining pressure profile along with solid consistent temperature made the shots smooth, sweet, and pronounced flavours in the cup; all while somehow removing most, if not all, of the bitterness.This machine is fun to use, and i am always looking forward to pull a shot. It is a very well built machine, it is quiet (pump only comes on to fill the boiler), and stable temperature throughout the shot! Most importantly the flavour in the cup is always great!One thing for any new buyers would be to ask and purchase a four hole steam tip (cost is not that much), it comes with two hole steam tip, which is fine but slower to steam milk with.Build quality is good as it is to be expected from profitec, the wood accents are a great addition to this 2022 model.

This machine is great. Pulls consistent shots and very well made. I have the earlier version so can't comment on this newer model but the joysticks would be a great improvement. We are using it in a small chocolate & gelato shop and it is a centre piece for sure. Only two complaints - steam is not super powerful, so it does take time to steam a quantity of milk. Second complaint has been the screen & gasket. After 1 year of light use, the screen / gasket is slipping and allowing the portafilter to spin and explode out of the group head. Extremely dangerous situation but I won't hold back the review of the unit itself. Waiting for a new screen & gasket to see if this fixes the problem.
