Razer Support Has Been Utterly Useless

First problem is the Razer Synapse software and its insistence on installing numerous different background services, despite me unchecking everything but the core app during installation. Regardless, once it was installed, my firewall started going crazy with multiple different apps and services trying to gain internet access. Even worse, you could tell by their names, some of them were trying to tie into my Steam software, internet browsers, etc. This is unacceptable since I (the paying customer) chose to unselect everything during install but the 1 single core Synapse app to customize the mouse. They never disclosed anything and I certainly never agreed to their software trying to interface with all this other software on my PC. But, I could have lived with that since, once you customize the mouse, the settings are stored in its onboard memory and it would then be possible to uninstall the Razer software. Or at least try to... I haven't yet so I'm unsure if it actually does remove the plethora of files and services it created. However, what I can't live with are hardware defects with the mouse and the lack of product support from Razer. There isn't enough room in this review to list every problem so I'll just mention the main one. About 10 percent of the time, upon booting or waking my PC, the mouse will be non-functional and I must unplug/replug it to regain function. I've tried it in multiple USB ports, both 2.0 and 3.0 and it still happens. Note that I've used many other mice on this PC over the years (Logitech, Roccat, etc) and never experience this problem with any of them. Contacted Razer support and the rep obviously had never been trained on the product line. He didn't even have knowledge of basic features. So, after wasting half an hour with him just trying to make him understand the problem and, indeed, trying to teach him about his own company's product, he finally acknowledged that he would need to escalate the ticket to a product expert. And guess what, no one ever got back to me. I suspect they know its a defect but Razer is one of those companies that try to avoid customers with a defective product and hope they just go away so they don't have to deal with a warranty claim. But, guess what Razer, what happens instead is I post this 1 star review about your bad product / support and contact Target to return it as defective anyway!

When part of an overall RGB setup, the possibilities for customizing one's work/gaming space become enormous.I'm not usually a 5-star reviewer, but when something works this well for such a good price, I have to give that extra little bump in its rating. I can easily recommend this mouse, especially if you can get it on sale for even less.

They sound good, and feel good. They are optical switches, so you dont need to worry about mis-clicksSoftware- response: its super responsive. no noticeable delay like (like with mx master mice)- Synapse: its still a little buggy, but the convenience if auto-switching profiles is too good

I was using the gaming laptop that came with my PC for so long it started peeling everwhere so I figured I’d look for a replacement. I didn’t want to spend more than $100 but my friends were telling me to spend a lot on a quality mouse. I bought this mouse anyways despite what they told me, expecting a mediocre experience since it wasnt the most expensive mouse out there. I was wrong. The textures are so fun to rub my thumb on, its super responsive, the scroll wheel feels amazing, the mouse fits perfectly in my hand (I have average sized hands. If ur hands r tiny or extremely large, maybe not for you) and you can customize the colors of the rgb. It’s all I needed and I didnt spend half a paycheck. Only downside is the mouse is wired. The price was competitive (same as on Amazon), build quality seems decent, ergonomics are fine. Tactility of button presses is distinct and crisp. Tracking seems smooth enough. I like the RGB. The number of buttons is not as excessive as on some other mice. It's lightweight - it admittedly doesn't have removable weights like my older mice, but truthfully, that's not really a problem for me and my particular gaming applications.I prefer wired mice due to not having to worry about batteries - if I need longer distance/reach between the motherboard and the mouse, I just use an extension cable.Matches up well with my Razer keyboard.Note: this mouse seems optimized for right-handed users (I'm not a lefty, so that's fine by me).

Great mouse overall. First, I love that you can customize what button performs what function you want it to on Razer Synapse software. You can also create and save multiple profiles for specific settings. You can also change the wheel for a tactile or smooth roll (with or without the click feel) with the press of a button. The only minor complaint I have about this feature is in the smooth non-tactile mode, it can scroll if moving the mouse abruptly. The RGB on this thing is magnificent! Of course it's completely customizable with their software. And one last point to be made. The wire on this mouse is smooth like a shoestring unlike the traditional stiff ones that came with mice. This is a great and affordable gaming mouse by Razer. I needed to replace an aging Viper and since it was on sale and had all the boxes checked, I went with it.One thing that I always check for is comfort. There is nothing worse than a mouse that is shaped like ladybugs or tons of sharp edges or too small or too big in size. After all, you'll probably spend quite a bit of time using your mouse, so spending a little more is never a bad idea when it comes to mice. The Basilisk V3 has an excellent and very comfortable feel, it's light enough to execute fast moves, yet heavy enough so that you don't yank the thing across the room when in a tough shoot-out.The lighting is very, very nice. Some other manufacturers should take notes. It's a great mouse at a decent price and that's pretty much it.

A must upgrade from any mouse you currently own. Heck i also want to by another one just for work because i cant use anything else but this. The mouse is so comfortable in the hand and the responsiveness is insane! And the custom DPI that you can set for yourself makes it even the more worth it. It is very easy to install because it comes with a driver and app already installed into the mouse so it automatically does the updates and downloads as soon as you plug it, no need to go to a website and download drivers and an app and restart the pc etc, looking at you logitech. As someone that had the logitech g502 hero for a few years, i now remember why i kept telling myself not to buy logitech anymore because they dont last long even with the most care out there. And in comparison to the hero, the basilisk 3v is a no brainer and a better mouse in every way! Weight, comfort , features, im a huge fan that the dpi buttons are not next to the left click like in the hero, that way there arent any accidental presses, so the left click feels bigger and easier to use even for just working at home and gaming. Overall this is a must buy and i highly recommend it! And the RGB lights on it are outstanding!!

Being a first time Razer user (I purchased this mouse along with the Razer Blackwidow V4 Pro keyboard), I can say this is a fantastic mouse. Previously, I used the Logitech MX Master 3 as my main mouse, primarily for work related reasons. But using this for both gaming and work, absolutely blows away all the mice I have used. Sure, it's wired, and some people consider this a negative, but wired never fails. It has the least latency and the least amount of issues. The pro version of this mouse costs easily another $50 just for wireless, and to me that's not worth it. Similar to the MX Master 3, it has a curve for where the thumb goes, one of the main factors behind my purchase. Similar to the MX Master 3, it has a curve for where the thumb goes, one of the main factors behind my purchase. It also has three remappable buttons, all of which can be programed to suit individual needs (it's not overkill like some gaming mice, where too many buttons get in the way). I also choose this mouse as I would be using it for work as well. While not as comfortable as the MX Master, it still holds it own, with the scrolling wheel being just as responsive (I love how it clicks) but the ergonomics being just enough to use for all purposes. The RGB effects are a plus, too! Overall, would recommend for gaming (probably what most will buy it for) but also for those like me, who need a dual purpose device.

[Rewarded Review] Wonderful wired RGB ergonomic gaming mouse.
20 January 2024

Bought a new gaming rig recently, which has some RGB features, and wanted a complementary set of RGB keyboard & mouse.Got the HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard and the Razer Basilisk v3 RGB wired ergonomic mouse. I love them both, and they go nicely together. The Basilisk v3 mouse is a right-handed ergonomic mouse. Not sure if they make a left-handed version. It comes with several Razer logo and brand stickers that looks pretty nice affixed to my desktop. It has several function buttons / programmable buttons. It has an RGB scroll-wheel, as well as RGB along the underside, and under the Razer logo. One of the buttons on top of the mouse, below the scroll-wheel switches between wheel modes: "tactile feedback" [which 'clicks'] and "free-scrolling" [where the wheel ... MoreBought a new gaming rig recently, which has some RGB features, and wanted a complementary set of RGB keyboard & mouse.Got the HyperX Alloy Core RGB keyboard and the Razer Basilisk v3 RGB wired ergonomic mouse. You can switch back and forth, or just leave it whichever way you prefer. Personally, I like the feel of the tactile feedback. But the free-scrolling is also very smooth feeling and fast/responsive.To set the RGB on the mouse, you need the Razer Synapse software. It hs a number of different easy or advanced RGB modes. "Breathing" is a nice smooth pulsing mode. Though, it goes all the way down to 'off' rather than just stopping at a low lighting level. For some reason, I fought that slightly off-putting, as I like to be able to see the RGB at all times. I ended up just setting it to a static color, and the keyboard as well. I found the pulsing LEDs a little distracting.Anyway, overall, I like the feeling of the mouse in my hand. The ergonomic feel is pretty nice. I haven't done a tone of gaming on it yet, so not sure yet on how the button placement is. But there are two buttons placed right above where the thumb rests on the left side of the mouse, so I assume they'd be pretty convenient for pre-set key-binds, etc. There's one additional button just in front of the thumb that's easily reachable. It feels like it might be *too* easy to reach, and maybe could be accidentally clicked on repeatedly, if not careful. But, presumably one would get used to the mouse and maybe position one's thumb slightly further back by default to compensate?Anyway, overall, I love this mouse. :) Had I know the scroll wheel on the Razer Cobra is RGB, I might have bought that one instead and saved myself a few $$, as this one is a little more expensive. But, the advertising imges didn't show the RGB on the Cobra, so I ended up continuing to look for something that suited my aesthetic / functional tastes and settled on the Basilisk v3, and I'm quite happy with it. ^_^ You will be too, presumably. It's a good mouse! Slightly expensive, but probably worth it.One slight thing to note, since the Razer Synapse software is required to run the RGB, it has the quirky behavior of "losing" your RGB setting while the computer is "asleep" or "locked," so it'll revert to its default rainbow color-changing mode while the machine is locked, and then go back to your chosen RGB color profile when you unlock / log-in, assuming the Razer Synapse software is running. Also, if you close the Razer Synapse tray icon it will also revert to the default rainbow color-cycling mode. When you reopen Synapse, it will resume your color profile(s).
