When part of an overall RGB setup, the possibilities for customizing one's work/gaming space become enormous.I'm not usually a 5-star reviewer, but when something works this well for such a good price, I have to give that extra little bump in its rating. I can easily recommend this keyboard, especially if you can get it on sale for even less.

I have owned and used a blackwidow ultimate 2017 for almost two years and although I love the clicky loud green switches they have to offer, it was just time for an upgrade. The caps are beginning to wear and the cable has gone finicky. So I did some searching and got my self a switch tester with all various switches from manufacturers. I wanted something quiet, yet not so sensitive. I also own a blackwidow te tkl v2 with yellow switches and day to day typing is a nightmare (for me at least) with those super sensitive switches. I find myself typing a wrong key often. I barely owned that keyboard for 6 months before I went back to my blackwidow ultimate 2017 just this month. I find myself typing a wrong key often. I barely owned that keyboard for 6 months before I went back to my blackwidow ultimate 2017 just this month. I felt cherry browns and razer orange might be the best switch to me, but I did not feel like spending much on a keyboard as I hardly use it when gaming on my PC now (controller user). Corsair offers the K55 (cheaper, also a membrane) and the newer K60 SE with cherry viola switches (more expensive, do feel nice), but I will admit I am a Razer fanboy as I have never had an issue with their products QA, dying on me, or issues with customer service since I switched over to using them in 2016. Out of the box, the cynosa v2 is presented in a much more generic looking package, the insert is brown and not padded like the more expensive offerings from Razer and it came wrapped in a clear plastic covering. One thing I did notice is Razer dropped from the previous cynosa is the LED logo from the bottom of the keyboard, now it just says 'Razer', definitely not a deal breaker though. Setting up the device was easy, W10 installed the driver and synapse detected a new peripheral automatically. Setting up the lighting was a breeze along with the macros. In terms of design, this board has a much more utilitarian look, matte black and a slim profile. One of the main reasons I went with the V2 over the original cynosa is due to the fact they included media keys, which do come in handy. The keys feel nice, and the keystrokes actuate with no issues. Definitely an easier typing experience already when compared to the yellow switches. I do wish Razer included a wrist rest like the ornata with the cynosa v2, but again not a deal breaker. I mean, it does what a keyboard should do, type. Keys register as they should and it has rollover, I have not missed a keystroke as of yet. But if you are picky and don't like what most call 'mushiness', then of course spend more and get a mechanical. But if your just a regular user, don't like mechanical, beginner PC gamer, or don't want to spend much on a gaming keyboard, the cynosa v2 definitely get's my thumbs up. Many would consider this a downgrade, but I did not see it as a downgrade for me personally. I was able to snag it for just under $30 buts it's a steal even @ $59.99.

I have several gaming keyboards across different price points, and I feel for this price point, this one tops the chart. While I use a more mechanical sounding Razer keyboard for gaming, I wanted a quieter one without losing the gaming keyboard feel for when I am working from home and on calls. I have now purchased two of these(one for me and one for my boyfriend), and have been using them for about three months. I like that they are "zero fuss," fully RGB, and a perfect hybrid for a dressed up work keyboard and casual gaming. Would absolutely recommend, and my boyfriend loves it too.

Great keyboard: I've been a Mac user for the past decade, but needed to build a pc because of certain software needs. So this is my first time in a long time getting a standard (non-Apple) keyboard. LOVE IT!PROS: The keys have a wonderful feel, are properly spaced, and the RGB lights are a nice addition. I even changed the lights so that different regions have different colors.CONS: Keys that have two characters (such as ",<" ".>", ": ;" etc have they characters flipped on the key, so this keeps throwing me off. What I mean is that normally you press the SHIFT key to select the character that is on top, and don't press SHIFT for the character that is on bottom. But with this keyboard it is reverse: to select the character on bottom, you press the SHIFT key.
A bunch of the keys stopped responding after spilling a small amount of liquid in the top corner by the volume buttons. The RGB lights work and respond to keystrokes but it doesn't actually type the text to the computer. Only had it for 8 months but I guess its my fault. I bought another Razer because I had an older Razer keyboard that was a brute and had many things spilled in it without any issue ever. I would recommend getting a accidental damage warranty on it if you buy it.Also, I had the brightness always turned all the way down and it still seemed really bright in a dark room. Like brighter than the screen.
Been a couple of weeks playing with it. Love the colors, it's an upgrade for me. Mostly motivated to get it cuz one of the games I played, Black Desert Online had a feature for certain lights design if you use a Razer keyboard with RGB Chroma feature. And I got it on sale. The game's mapping of the lights is pretty cool feature. For example the the first 8 function buttons up top represent your HP bar. Keys turn blue and ripply when you're in water. I'm not fond of loud clicky sounds so I like membrane keyboard. There apparently a lot of games that utilize this. I'm going to check out that entire list and see what other games I play might be on there! It was also easy to set up the Synapse program to design my own schemes.Bought this online and store pick up. But ... MoreBeen a couple of weeks playing with it. It was also easy to set up the Synapse program to design my own schemes.Bought this online and store pick up. But who ever went shopping for me picked up a box that was obviously opened as the seals were not really warped and barely sticking to the box and when I opened it in my car with no effort the plastic bag that I assume the keyboard was supposed to be in it if it was brand new, was empty and just laying on top of the actual keyboard. Seems like an open box product or at one point a display.
I love computer hardware. Especially computer gaming hardware! For as long as I can remember, I've always owned mechanical type keyboards, both for office work and computer gaming. I don't know why, but I could never really get used to the clickety clack noise that all mechanical type keyboards produce. Then I discovered membrane type keyboards and an unspoken prayer was answered! No more clickety clack noise! At first, I couldn't believe it and I thought something was wrong with it and intended to return it! However, after doing more research I learned that membrane type keyboards really don't make a lot of noise! So, I kept this keyboard and haven't considered spending a dime on a mechanical keyboard!
This keyboard exceeded my expectations. It's very easy to type on. Its build quality is very solid. Most Razer users have come to expect that from them.I own several Razer products: Naga Pro mouse, Tartarus Pro gaming keypad, and Blackshark V2 Pro headset.I had been using a competing keyboard product without the RGB backlighting and when it started to physically fall apart I decided I wanted a keyboard with backlighting so I could see the keys in the dark, which is my gaming environment most of the time.I wanted the Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro wireless keyboard, which is their high-end gaming keyboard but realized that since I don't really use the keyboard so much for gaming because of my Tartarus Pro keypad it would be a waste of money for me ($250). So, since I wanted a backlight keyboard I decided on this Razer Cynosa V2 and I could not be happier with it. Even though it is wired it still fits easily on my elevated 35" curved monitor stand (flat square base) when I'm gaming on my keypad. I can now see the keysin the dark to use for some functions not assinged to my gamepad while gaming, and I can easily pull it down when needed to use as I am at this moment for doing normal typing. This is the best inexpensive keyboard I've ever purchased.
I read online reviews saying how good this was, but honestly, my 'stock' alienware laptop keybad was better. The RGB colors seemed to 'hertz' so slowly that my eye recognized them while I was trying to look a the monitor. It caused eye strain as my eyes keep seeing the 'buzzing' colors of the keyboard over the screen. It just wasnt/isnt like my RGB alienware laptop keyboard. The colors also just seem to be radiating from everywhere, not coming only out of the keys like I like. Just seems like an over flooding of colors, not percise as individualized keys that just the keys are light up, not their surrounding area. I returned it, its not for me. Just do it in the background, instead it wants to REMIND YOU that you need this software loaded for the keyboard to work apparently. :/
I have always liked Razer products. But this keyboard blew me away. I love the ability to customize the lighting and the fact that certain games actually control the lighting and at times the keyboard lights interact with some games I play. The lights arent necessarily individual to the keys so sometimes a light of a different color will fade slightly into a key near it. But for the price, the keyboard looks, feels, and sounds great. Its pretty quiet compared to the average keyboard.
